Based on the replies, here are the options to vote on: Month Names *Note: whatever system is chosen, it is not forced on any race, nation or group. If you wish to ignore it and RP your own calendar system, you are more than welcome to! This is merely the universal system that will be chosen and coded into the Calendar Plugin. Seasons On top of the names for the months, we also had some ideas for seasons. Though seasons would not be coded into the Calendar Plugin, we can surely decide on how to RP them, which would help in the future if we ever did decide to code seasons. For this reason, I have another set of options to choose from for seasons alone: Quarter-Year System (Same as IRL) Four seasons, Spring Summer Autumn and Winter, and the season cycle occurs in one IC year (one week IRL). Each season would last 1.75 days IRL. Full-Year System Same as above, but the season cycle occurs in four IC years and each season lasts one IC year, one week IRL. ASoIaF / GoT-ish System The only seasons will be Summer and Winter, and each will last a full month IRL (a little more than four IC years), with a cycle lasting two full months IRL. The seasons don't vary in length, however, hence the "ish" in this system's title. This system is merely the universal system, the system we'll use in the calendar plugin, but it's not forced on any race, nation or group. I can't stand month names with two words in them, and Gaius's is doing best out of the monowords. The single word months also have the advantage of working with any month system, wheras the two word ones incorporate seasons and thus are little broken if we have long seasons as the poll is going. I actually have to agree with this. Depending upon whether we're going to fully utilize seasons or not, I'll either pick my suggestion or Gaius's. It would be fun if seasons lasted a month or two IRL, so you could add snow to areas and stuff without having to remove it a day later. Could also get the plugin to cause snow in all biomes but the desert in the Winter season. Snow'll accumulate on things as it does in dwarf lands, and melt when the season switches back.
