Fauna Of Karaktuan

~*~-~*~

The Gy'waka Bird is a large Flightless Avian that typically shy's away from loud noise, which is rather peculiar considering they remain on the top of the food chain, and are carnivorous. The males are most easily spotted by a large red crest upon their head, making the Eleven Meter tall bird even more imposing.

The Nehpu are the Kharajyr Message birds, a light Avian that typically dwells in the jungles, they most prominent feature is the massive beak, used to crack open the large cocoa pods in the trees.

The Zisban is a primarily Mountain Dwelling animal, Mammalian of course, and on a side note, Simian. They are known to be incredibly noisy beasts, howling and screeching at any travelers like the drunks of an Oren Tavern.

The Remm-Gehk is similar to the Zisban, but is a metric ton more bulky, is dwells in the forest, is Mammalian and Simian of course. They are mainly vegetarian, but can also be known to eat meat, so they would be classified as omnivorous. They have been seen to tear down whole trees in their grasp.

The Cehkan is one of the more colourful avians around in Karaktuan, bearing anywhere from bright yellow to bright green plumage, which I have documented elsewhere. The most fascinating thing about them, is their unmatched skill in imitation, the birds can speak common, and learn near any language.

The Vena'Vi are a small insectoid species that dwells within massive dirt and sediment hives in the tall trees of the Karaktuan jungle, the most startling feature about them, is their almost unnatural  habit of glowing so bright, you cannot make out any features.

Cayda, are a frighteningly large species of Fish, more commonly referred to in our language as a Shark. However, the Karaktuan sharks bear a few differences, such as a double row of serrated teeth, and they bear live young in sacs.

The Tykkan is a large, amphibious reptile that dwells in the rivers of Karaktua, bearing razor sharp teeth that line it's entire, long snouted maw. I have seen the beast in action, initial views would make one believe they are ungainly, and un-agile, yet they demonstrate astounding ability to move quickly, and leap well over a meter out of the water. They are the main beast of hunt within the rivers.

Alastair Ravenwood sits down on a seat in the Cloud Temple library, holding the newly arrived journal from Napier. He feels around the cover, spatting the dust to the side and than opens it up. His eyes become narrow as he indulges himself through the notes and sketches.  After an hour of reading and jotting down his own personal notes, he flips out a quill and parchment.

He begins to write,

             Dear Charles,

As a member of your same department, it has become a great interest of mine in your work. There is some very stunning work here and data that has been collected. But for my personal interest and for the Ministry and future College; when you arrive back form your travels, please at least bring one of the specimens. If you can achieve bring the Gy'waka here to Ministry, I would be very interested on doing future studies with you.
