Arzota's Guide to Death

((Just a suggestion, still your choice when to Perma Kill))

Alright LOTC, this has been on my mind for quite a while, and I think others should also know about my method when it comes to death. Let us say you were just subject to a marvelous rp, or pvp fight for that matter, and end up dead.

Now, you don't want to just let this slide off your shoulders right?

[if you do stop reading here]

In that case, perma-killing may seem a bit too sudden and drastic to you, but you still don't want to be unfair and coddle your character forever, also dying should be scary!

How do I propose this to actually happen? Well it's a simple matter of common sense combined with the rolling system, to add luck as a factor.

Here it is broken down:

>In a battle which you die in:
::> Was the rp good? Y/N
-->IF no, die or soulstone, and thats the end of it.
-->IF yes... begin by rolling a 3-
(( /roll 3 ))
00>IF 1: Continue as normal, you got lucky... this time.
00>IF 2: Take a few hours off on this character, play some League and come back in

[2-3 hours] on the character, rping injury effects after respawning at cloud temple.
00>IF 3: Add a strike* to your character, take
[12-24 hours] off, and come back rping heavy injuries.

That, is pretty much the process in which I fight with. Now, you may be asking what a 'strike' is, to be quite blunt its one of 3 Perma-Kill strikes.

[or 4 if we are playing Japan here]

These strikes are not permanent [if you want], in fact at the end of the week, I personally subtract 1 and continue with the usual remaining amount.

On the unfortunate occasion you reach, 3 strikes, these are my 2 options.

>Kill off the character, sad day for us all :(
((Or if you are still feeling too attached))
>Roll one last 10
00>IF: 6-10 - Character safe, start over with 0 strikes, possible severe trauma/irreversible damage.
00>IF: 1-5 - "I'm sorry Jim... He's dead"

All in all, character death is a touchy subject to many. My method makes rolling that 3 one of the more stressful and exhilarating points in the day, adding onto the adrenaline rush that probably already is at full force.

Hope this method makes rp slightly more fun, and death more dangerous. Happy dying LOTC!

[ As I'm sure there will be a lot more in the future :} ]

This seems fine for people who fight frequently, but my character doesn't, chances are he'd die after falling from a cliff or something. Do you have any suggestions about how to attend to that?

Meh. Leaving a character perma death up for chance isn't a good idea imo. Whatever process works for you, though.

Personally I have decided that if I am ever met with some supreme rp leading up to my death, I will perma.

Usually in this case, unless rply pushed I would say go on as if it were a roll 1. Accidental deaths in mc mechanics don't really ring true for me at all x.x

I don't want to base my characters death off of luck! D:

Aye of course, it's always up to you, but if you do end up fighting, or dying a lot in rp, this method works IF you want death to be a scary thing :} The reason I follow it is because there is always the nagging feeling in the back of my mind of, "Am I going to die today?" And it actually holds some weight here.

This is a good guide. When I read it I expected you to ask it becomes universal or something ridiculous...

Yes, I approve of this personally. Its a good thing to enforce on yourself if you can do so honestly.

+1, good guide.

I like this a lot! ^^ I don't plan on ever having my main perma-die but any side characters I have will probably follow something similar to this.

Yeah, I guess this might work for some but I'm not leaving PKing up to a roll. This is a Roleplay server not a rollplay server.

This will help when it comes to assassinations. I mean, right now, there is no real point. You can kill the same guy over and over and over again and he'll just come back to life. Having someone assassinate someone else is useless at the moment. I mean, if anyone ever wanted to assassinate the Emperor, well sorry mate, he'll be back in about five minutes, nothing changed. I think maybe this should be implemented for more major leader type characters. Characters that if they were killed, it would affect the whole of Anthos.  Overall I think this is a good guide. Probably not going to use it on my main, but maybe on some side characters.

Would help assassinations a lot!
