In-Character Information:
Complete the following biography on your character:

Full Name: Kaelin Malaei'onn

Current Age: 60

Sub-race (if any): Dark elf

Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long):

Kaelin Malaei'onn was born the only son of a loving family. His father was a traveling salesman, and his mother was a farmer and baker. She ensured her son was well fed at home while his father was away. At the age of fifteen, Kaelin joined his mother in the fields and gained a basic knowledge of farming from that experience. Three years later, Kaelin's father taught him his trade of selling goods afar. Kaelin worked with his father until, at the age of thirty eight, he desired to see more of the world.

Kaelin took work where it could be found in the towns he traveled to. These were mostly odd jobs that needed to be done on local farms. During the amount of time he spent in the fields, he thought about and questioned things which led to his eyes growing ever darker. He kept to himself during his travels. This was not because he disliked others or lacked social skills, but rather he enjoyed contimplating things. Now Kaelin continues his travels, and thoughtful days in the fields.

Ambitions for the Future: Kaelin would eventually like to settle down, and get a steady job.

Personality: Kaelin is thoughtful which some interpret as introversion. He has a desire to do good by others, and help those in need.

Skills: Kaelin has a basic knowledge of farming and selling.

Appearance (this must include an in-game screenshot of your skin): http://imgur.com/yMlyM98

Any other details you wish to share about your character: Kaelin enojoys travel, yet desires to find a place to call home.

Open-Response-Questions
Each question in this section must be answered with a minimum of one paragraph which must describe the event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point.
____

1. As you walk through the deep forests you hear the sound of whispering and snickering. Upon inspection you realize that a group of older elves are mocking a small elven child. How do you react?

Answer:

As Kaelin was enjoying a walk though the woods he heard undistinct sounds. He followed them to their source only to find a group of elders taunting a small and helpless elven child. Kaelin interjects as one of the elders is soon to make another remark about the child. He rebuked the men for their cruel ways, and hoped that Malin would look upon them with disappointment. He then took the child in hand and led her back home as the elders meditated on their wrongdoings.

2. Whilst wandering through the Elven forests you come across a frail old man with a walking stick. He collapses in front of you, falling to the ground with a sharp thud. Out of his pocket falls a small pouch of gold coins, which hits the ground and splits open spreading coins across the pathway. The man lies there, defenseless - what do you do?

Answer:

One sunny day in Malinor, Kaelin was walking through the forests and admiring the beauty of the trees around him when he heard a thud. Not far from him an old, feeble man had fallen dropping his coin pouch spreading the golden discs about the path. Kaelin helped the man to his feet as he pushed himself up with his walking stick. He then gathered the coins, and returned them to the elder, and with that he blessed the man and went back to his business.

3. Whilst traversing the Elven Woodlands, you come across a small clearing in which a colored carriage sits. A trader stands outside of it and calls you over, telling you of his wares. He points out that his carriage sells just about everything, and that he's willing for you to haggle for a price. What does your character do? (Please include:- item, haggling for prices and the discussion involved).

Answer:

Upon traveling through the Elven Woodlands, Kaelin came across a traders carriage not much unlike his father's. The trader called him over with a welcoming hello and sunny smile. The trader invited Kaelin to inspect his numerous wares ranging from weaponry, to food, to crafting supplies, and more. Kaeling inspected the wares intently to ensure they were of good quality before he even considered buying the delicious looking stew. He then asked the trader how much he wanted for five bowls of his finest stew to which the trader replied, "That fine food will cost you 50 minas." Kaelin quickly replied, "That stew is surely only worth 25 minas." The trader looked offended by the counter offer and said, " I'll go no lower than 40." Kaelin pointed to the chips and scratches on the bowls and said, "How about 35?" The trader reluctantly took the offer, and Kaelin walked away with food for his travels and minas in his pocket. He was so happy that his father had taught him his trade.

- Unfortunately, I am going to have to deny this -

Firstly, I want you to expand upon your definitions of meta-gaming and power-gaming with examples.

Secondly, your biography was pretty good. I think it would be beneficial to add more lore to your biography. Perhaps explain about some of the places your character has been to, some of the specific events he has seen. It really helps out an application to add as much LotC lore as possible.

Lastly, your first two ORQ's are lacking. When writing an ORQ, it is important to do everything directly with your character and explain how you did it. For example -

"Jon hums to himself as he walks down the road, his hands resting upon his walking stick. As he continues on his way, he hears a loud "crack" and thump. Jon turns quickly, using his walking stick for support as he nears the fellow old man that isn't holding up quite as well as he is. Jon speaks in a sarcastic tone "Looks like somebody isn't holding up quite as well as I am." - That is a brief example of how to write a proper ORQ. Mixing detailed character actions as well as dialogue together.
