Full Name: Cildir Whiteoak

Current Age: 90

Sub-race (if any): Wood Elf

Past / History (include childhood,

major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long):

Our story started not long ago. In the forests near Leumalin, a party of elves hunted

a herd of cows. Cildir’s older brother, Cugunir, led the party, and allowed
Cildir to accompany him as a 30th birthday present. After several
days of tracking, an elf signaled that he had found the herd. Cugunir turned to
Cildir with a forlorn look on his face.

“Cildir” he said, “this will be the first time you see a killing like this. You must

understand that we do this out of need, not sport. To kill for sport is not the
path of the pure. The Orcs can be forgiven, however, for it is the fault of
that blasted Iblees that they kill the way they do. Take this,” he said pulling
a necklace shaped like a flying dove from under his tunic, “as a symbol of
peace, even in violence. Kill for need, not sport.”

Cugunir turned away and drew an arrow to his cheek to kill the cow. A whistling axe

caught the elf to his left. Cugunir started in surprise and the arrow flew far
over the cow. That was a small problem however as a group of Orcs burst over a
hill. The other elves fired arrows and began to flee towards the city, hoping
for reinforcements once they got there. But Cugunir knew they were too far to
run. At least not without a head start.

“Go! Run to the city…NOW!” he screamed as he drew his sword and plunged it into the

chest of an orc. Cildir begged him to come, but Cugunir looked at him and said “It
is time to kill for need. You have no need to die here. For me however, this is
my time.” He picked up his shield and stood tall as the approaching orcs met
him in a flurry of swords, axes, and sparks.

Cildir refused to flee, but a party member forced him onto his shoulder, and carried

him home.

The party sat outside the city around a campfire. The party was silent, heads down,

looking into the fire. The light reflected off of Cugunir’s silver necklace that
Cildir held in his hand. He stared at the dark leather against the bright shiny
silver of the dove in flight.

Cildir returned to his family and helped them with all their tasks. Everyday, he wore

the silver dove around his neck to remind him of his purpose. He began training
combat soon, beginning each day with an 8 mile run around the forest, although
the distance eventually increased. He learned to hunt for his family and made a
living in various jobs. At the age of 80, he left his house and began to work
in Leumalin full time. He also began to travel the realm of Anthos, continuing
to work wherever he was needed. He promised himself that he would never
retaliate against the Orcs who killed his brother, and became a nice,
fun-loving man in the process. However, seeing his brother murdered, he became
viciously brave in battle, as he fought with an intensity rarely seen with
others.

Cildir one day returned to the hidden clearing where his brother was killed. The clearing had been untouched all those years. He sat where he had stood so many years before when the Orcs flooded over the hill. He happened to glance down and see evidence of his brother's survival. Drag marks, elven blood stains in a trail from where the Orcs came. He then found, later down the trail, an silver ring, identical to the one his brother wore. Cildir knew his brother had lived, all he had to do was find him.

Open-Response-Questions

Each question in this section must

be answered with a minimum of one paragraph which must describe the event in
full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore
at any point.

____1. As you walk through the deep

forests you hear the sound of whispering and snickering. Upon inspection you
realize that a group of older elves are mocking a small elven child. How do you
react?

Answer: Cildir steps in and protects

the younger elf. He doesn’t fight the older elves, but reminds them of Iblees’
curse.

“We have few enough young as it is, due to that damned Iblees. We don’t need you

hurting any of them.”

He then makes a joke about it. “Besides, you guys aren’t that much older are you?”

he says with a wink.

2. Whilst wandering through the Elven

forests you come across a frail old man with a walking stick. He collapses in
front of you, falling to the ground with a sharp thud. Out of his pocket falls
a small pouch of gold coins, which hits the ground and splits open spreading
coins across the pathway. The man lies there, defenseless - what do you do?

Answer: Cildir approaches him and helps him to his feet. He returns the money to the elf, and picks up his walking stick.

"Is anything broken?" he asks the old elf.

"I don't know. It hurts like it does!" the injured elf replies.

Cildir then helps him to his feet and carries him through the forest to the hospital in Leumalin.

That night, Cildir travels to a smithy near the hospital.

"Is there anyway you can reinforce this walking stick?" he asks the blacksmith.

" Well, 'course I can. Come by tomorrow for the new stick."

Cildir returns in the morning and tips the smith generously before returning to the old man. Once there, he gives the old man his new stick and a bowl of homemade soup.

"Why would you do so much for a stranger?" the man asks.

Cildir replies simply, "I understand need. That's why I do things, for people in need."

3. Whilst traversing the Elven Woodlands,

you come across a small clearing in which a colored carriage sits. A trader
stands outside of it and calls you over, telling you of his wares. He points out
that his carriage sells just about everything, and that he's willing for you to
haggle for a price. What does your character do? (Please include:- item,
haggling for prices and the discussion involved).

Answer: Cildir asks him politely “What

does the merchant in the city sell for this leather?”

The Merchant replies “Around 15 Minas a

piece.”

Cildir replies “And you?”

The Merchant scratches his head and

asks for 12 Minas.

Cildir replies “10.”

The Merchant says “11”

Cildir then asks “How many people see

you daily?”

The Merchant says “Times have been slow

recently, you’re the first I’ve seen in a few days.”

Cildir drops a bag of 25 Minas on the

table and says “We all feel the pains of poverty, there is no reason for yours
to be worse than mine, or that of the merchant in town.” He then drops a larger
bag of Minas on the table and says “That’s one month of rent in the city
market. I’ll be there in a month once you can repay the debt.”

The Merchant is speechless, but

eventually returns to the city, where Cildir visits but doesn’t ask for
payment.
