An idea for the dwarven religion

(this is all just a basic idea for the paragons since the creation of time) (made up btw) every paragon will be remember for what he or she had done for the nation and for what they represent.

Paragon Urguan- founded our capital and father of the dwarves -Father/Builder-

Paragon Hrithgar- founder of coal and smithing techniques -Smither-

Paragon Lefor- protector of the dwarves in the first war with the orcs, sacrificed himself by holding back the orc invaders so that the dwarven people could retreat back into the capital from the first outer colonies. -Protection- First dwarf to become paragon after death.

The year is 1335 and since Paragon Lefor no dwarf king or council has declared a new paragon. It may be to the fact that no dwarf deserves it or that they just are too lazy to do it. (or drunk lol)

(if you all like this I'll make a new thread when we can disscuss this all properly or just talk here ;)

I'm not a dwarf, but I can help you create the lore for Paragon Hrithgar. I studied swordsmithing last night, so the knowledge is still fresh within me.

EDITED Completely re-wrote: I think that the Paragon idea is great but that we should take it a step further. After a Paragon dies he becomes an angelic god. Each race could have their own angelic gods from their own specific Paragons (or whatever each race would call it). I also think that each race should have like the main Patriarch. The father of each race should be that person so Dwarves all honour Urguan, who became the head god for the dwarves on his death. Smiths honor Hrithgar along with Urguan and warriors revere Lefor. Ariel and the Creator would still be sacred to all races but the specific race gods would be for that race alone.

Paragon Lefor

Lefor was born into a normal dwarf family. He dad worked in the mines. His mother in the house. Lefor was born and raised in the mines as he helped his father at a very young age. When he became of age he told his father one day he wanted something more then just living in the mines. He wanted to serve the King by fighting in the army. Lefor's dad eventually gave in to this idea and gave his son the family armor and axe and sent him off to dwarf boot camp. Lefor's time in the camp was hard. He was smaller then most of the other dwarves but he took it upon himself to strive to be the best dwarf out of all of them. He eventually achieved his goal. He was made Sargent of his battalion and always lead his men into battle.

During the time before the great dwarf and orc war, hostilities between the two races rose. Orcs were bloodthirsty and wanted more land. The dwarves who had expanded to close to the border of the nations were stubborn. The King himself couldn't keep the peace between the two races and after one small orc raid, he declared war. Battalions of dwarves were moved to the front lines. What they didn't expect was the ferocity of the orc nomad. In the early times of the war one orc killed two dwarven warriors before he died himself. The war was very costly to both nations. Eventually the dwarves slowly retreated.

At the village of Kaz-Grit, Lefor and his men were stationed to protect the villagers who were packing up their things to move back to the capital. During the last day, orcs attacked in great numbers. These villages were great in number as Kaz-Grit was the largest of the dwarven colonies. Many panic and fled. Lefor and his men fought bravely for two days to keep the hoard back. It was the third day when Lefor gave the orders for the surviving members of his battalion to retreat and protect the villages. Lefor told his men he was gunna stay and hold back the hoard as long as he could to that his men and the last of the villages could make it out alive.

On the morning of the 4th day of the attack Lefor was the only dwarf left in Kaz-Grit. The orcs attacked and one by one Lefor cut them down. He fought over 100 orcs that day himself. He used the alley ways of the colony to his advantage to get behind the big orcs and cut them down. At the end of the day Lefor was getting tired. At a point he was overrun and killed by the orc hoard. Some say his body never found, others say his head was put onto a spike.

Lefor that day saved many dwarves. For he great bravery the King and the council made him a paragon. To be worshiped along with the stone. Lefor's family were made nobles and his bloodline is still around todsy in small amounts. A statue of him was made and a shrine.

When people talk of Paragon Lefor they talk about bravery, sacrifice, warrior-hood, and protection of the people. Warriors of the dwarven army honor Lefor and usually pray to him before each battle.

So is the story of Paragon Lefor,

The paragon religion is a good system for the dwarves, But I was thinking that Urguan wouldn't actually be a paragon, though he is a great hero towards the dwarves, he was the first dwarf. He should be something different. A demi-god really (Because he technically started the dwarvern race for aegis), working on a system of God --> Demigod --> Paragon.

((I'm working on it currently, though I've been gone the last couple says and wont be around the server much until the weekend. ))

I must first finish the temple, and then get things going with Priests. But Dont worry my friend, soon all Dwarves will know the light of the father, Urugan.

((My character is a heavy "Aerielist" from his time with the FoA. Do I still have to switch over to this "Paragon" thing?))

(No anguels are considered the same as paragons. Dwarfs can worship with but paragons should be first.)

Alright so is the following the official dwarven religion?

Ariel is revered by all across Aegis and thus is revered in the Dwarven chruch. Urguan is the father of the dwarves and is now the High Dwarven God. Hrithgar is the dwarven smith god and Lefor is the dwarven warrior god.

Is that basically the religion because as a smith I would revere Hrithgar but would like to know if he is actually a God before I get burned at the stake or something.

((I would like to think so Thrym, Elric (my second character) is becoming a priest and that's how he's been training))
