(( You can worship any or all of the paragons, none of them are more important then each other. I just decided to dedicate the temple to Urugan and my character personally worship Urugan, but I think I might make the temple to all of the Paragons. ))

Story of Hrithgar, the dwarven smith paragon

Hrithgar was like any other dwarf, mined, and smithed by learning it from their fathers. Now this was very early in the dwarven years as most dwarves used stone pickaxes. News came from the mines of a new stronger ore.... Iron they called it. Now the dwarves had no way of smelting this ore, but after many ideas Hrithgar came out with the idea of a furnace where it heated the ores so hot that it turned liquid and then pour this liquid into a mold. From this mold was a square shape and made the new "ignots" they were called stackable.

Now Hrithgar amazed the dwarfs again by using the same heating idea to mold the ignot flat and then pounded out the sides to make the first, very crude, sword. After many tries Hrithgar and a few others perfected this ability and named the skill blacksmithing.... from all the black smoke they breathed when working.

With these new ideas out many new and wonderous tools were made to advance the dwarven empire. Weapons for the troops and armor, stronger then leather, to protect them.

After this Hrithgar was named Paragon for his great ideas. He lived out his days working in the great forage which still stands today. He grew very old and died but not without showing a new way to smelt a even stronger ore.... diamonds.....

Since Hiebe showed me this thread I figured I would post my original idea under here. Didn't even know this thread existed till now.

Just an idea for a dwarven creation religion:

The stone. Cold. Hard. Heavy. To the masses, this is how the foundation of Aegis is revered. But the true Mason sees through this veil. The stone is strength. The stone is protection. The stone is life.

The fathers of this world knew the value of the rock. They built this world with a substance able to withstand the test of time. Ancient ruins hold proof of this. Long after our days have passed, the stone will survive to tell our tales. Our battles. Our lives, and our deaths.

Legends tell of an age long ago, when the very earth itself created life. From the stone stepped a creature. Short in stature, but great and powerful as the rock itself. This creature was dubbed the dwarf. Throughout the lifespan of this proud and strong being, it tried in vane to reconnect itself with the earth. Living in the depths of the world. Surrounding itself with materials of its kin. Time pulled the dwarf away from its heritage. Memories of being one with the earth vanished, and things that should not have been forgotted were lost.

Years turned into centuries, centuries into millenia, and knowledge of these times died out with the turning of Aegis. New Gods arose and came to power over the whole of the lands. Gods that asked its followers to revere the light, or the darkness of this world. The teachings of the Masons fell to the wayside and was abandoned by most.

But a rare few continued their following. Continued to practice the ways of the stone. There teachings were preserved in etchings. Carvings on tablets at the core of the world. They new that one day the Gods. The new Gods of light and Dark would fail, and the Dwarven people would once again need to believe in something. For a life without faith in ones people, will only lead to it's demise.

Though none now live who remember these tales. The words of the Masons still reside in the depths of the world. Carvings within the Shrine of Stone at Aegis' core hold the secrets to their rebirth. And their finding might bring about the next age of this world. The age of the Dwarves.

Basically it's a lost Dwarven Religion based on the Free Masons, and adapted to fit the Dwarven peoples. My hopes are that during the trials and conflicts between Iblees and Aeriel, many dwarves will begin to question their faith in these beings. A possible "unearthing" of ancient relics reguarding the Masons may unite the dwarves as a whole and allow them to gain strength.

Please be honest in your opinions as I would love to refine this and actually use it on LotC. Thank you for your time.

Well thought out but I don't think it should/can be used. For one, Aegiean lore says that Urguan was the father of the dwarves and he didn't come from the stone. Also, many, including my character are very devout followers of Aeriel and the current dwarven gods. I don't think this has place in Aegis as the actual religion of the dwarves but perhaps a cult?

I kinda like that. Never followed Aeriel and my character didnt really have a reason to. I'll have to look into RPing the finding and writing up of a small following. Interesting... Thank you sir.
