Lissa Ransom slowly reads through a letter, written by herself'n Diedrik Barrow, amongst the chaos that is Kralta...

~*~

To His Majesty, Of Whom Current Titles Us Do Escape In This Time Of Grave Need, Change and Despair...

We, the Family of Carrion, keepers of the Krelmstad and Marques of Raev, as well as the townsfolk of Kralta, require urgent aid. The Walls of Greywynn have been breached, few remain of those that once guarded the North. Attacks from Ghouls, Drowners and Boarmen have ravaged our March's lands, and wrecked parts of Kralta. Wyrms have flewn through our skies, and we do not have the resources or man-power to fight such creatures. It is by this, that we urgently request His Majesty to send us these, lest lands beyond Raev will face the same horrors. Regardless of aid, we will stand and fight, as it is not the custom of Raevir to run. We carry on. Proof of these is included with this package.

May the Creator watch over Your Highness, and Us.

Signed,

Diedrik Barrow, Master of The Krelmstad

Lissa Ransom, Maer of Kralta

She nods, closing the letter, carefully handing it to Diedrik Barrow.

He seals it with wax, and places it into a leather sack, with a head taken from one of the boarmen...

...

As the sun slowly sets in Abresi, a horse comes to a grinding halt in front of the palace.

With haste, the courrier dismounts, in his hands an odd package. He requests urgent access to the Palace, and His Majesty, bringing dire tidings from Kralta.

Lark sits at the grindstone sharpening a boatman tusk for use. Watching as Diedrik hands off the message.

A white hooded man sits on a stone wall near the palace. He watches as the courier dismounts, and hears what he speaks. The figure tilts his head slightly, before slowly nodding. He takes out a piece of paper and a quill, writing a note unusually slowly. He folds it up and seals it, before holding it high in the air.

A hawk dives down, taking the note in its claws, before flying off to the West, past the main gates of the city. The figure watches it fly for a few moments, until it is out of sight. He then leaps down from the wall, landing and walking towards the main gates, out on to the road.

Jack finishes scraping off any extra meat on the Bohra hide he was tanning and dumps it into his special mix of salt, water, and wolf pee. He turns and walks out of his shop to go for a walk. As he passes Lark's shop he sees Diedrik seal the letter and place in the boar head. "Hmm, I wonder what that's about?" He shrugs and walks off, taking out his crossbow, loading it, and going on to hunt some drowners.
