The Dwarven Politics

Let me start off by saying that this only concerns Anthos, I have no idea what will happen in the future and not sure about the past

The Very Brief Review of

Dwarven Politics.

The Grand King-  is the head ruler of this system. He is directed toward exercising leadership over self, over other people, and over situations. This doesn't necessarily mean that he/she has absolute power over everything. If the Grand King wished to implement something such as a law for example, he would have to get it passed by the Lord's Council as they need to vote on it.

The Lord’s Council- is very alike to an ‘advice council’ to the king and vote to pass or veto any law that the Grand King wishes to pass. There are five lords, each of whom get elected by the Grand King as soon as he earns his title.

The King’s Council- is very alike to the ‘privy council’ in Oren. They are guild masters. For example the Grand Marshal is in change of the Legion, the Grand Merchant in charge of selling homes and shops and over all control over the economy.

List of King’s Council positions:

Grand Marshal

Grand Merchant

High Remembrancer

Forge Master

Archbishop

Yemekar’s Pick

Master Engineer

Ogradhad’s Alchemist

Link to Articles of Urguan that cover most of the positions/their jobs and the laws of the grand kingdom

Vassals and Jarls

Because of recent events in war, we had to introduce the system of vassals. They are outside kingdoms/nations that have made an oath to the King to serve them in war and must follow the Articles of Urguan. They are pretty independent otherwise.

They have no power over the Grand Kingdom’s decision and basically have no power inside the Kingdom. They are respected since they hold the same title as Jarls do.

Jarls are in control of a particular town/settlement inside the Grand Kingdom’s borders. They are respected figures in the ‘hierarchy’ but they have no power outside their land.

Dwarven Clans

The Dwarven Elder clans have lost their ‘rank’ over the move to Anthos, but they stay as nobles and have a significant amount of influence to the kingdom. They represent the kingdom since they are most well known figures and normally have control over the high positions, but there are multiple exceptions. (Link to more information on ‘Dwarven Clans')

Enjoy the roleplay!

Good, though the clans part is wrong. Basicly only the clans who are directly descended from the seven sons are noble. The rest are more of gathering of sorts, attempting to prove themselves.

Yes, I edited that it has to be the 'elder' clans. I thought it would be pretty clear.

What? Jarls have to obey the religion? I never heard of this... Most Jarls aren't dwarves...

I think so, because Kastoria was forced to have a church, just read the articles, It's pretty clear.

Church and having the Jarl have the same religion are different things.... Rosso believes in the creator...
