Viper3X 1056 Share Posted August 3, 2013 Innumerable soldiers stand lined up outside the bridge gate that leads to Castle Greywynn. Able-bodied combatants from the four corners of Anthos ready themselves for the oncoming battle. Humans, orcs, dwarves, elves and kharajyr fill the ranks of the brave defenders that aim to guard Anthos' lands from the dark evil within and beyond the North. Shortly after the united races shout their taunts and insults toward the eerily quiet castle, an army of mutated, corrupted beings begin to flood out from across the bridge. Grotesque, behemoth mounds of walking flesh stand tall above the small, pitiful grunts of the horde. Roars and outcries echo from within the hoard's ranks, a mix of screeches and low voices. The two mighty orc chiefs, Wargoth Pok'Ugluk and Huntzgoth Wulgehn Lur, step forward in front of their fierce warriors. The King of the dwarves, Grand King Thorin Grandaxe, marches to the front lines. The three stand side by side, ready to exact revenge. Pok'Ugluk begins to speak. Pok: "Corrupted! Step forward and face death before my axe! Your death will be swift -- I will rip your limbs into pieces! It is your time, face us now or we will destroy you all! Before Wulgehn Lur and Thorin Grandaxe could express their demands, a deep, harsh voice makes its way out of the horde of tainted foot soldiers. A dark, dreadful figure emerges from the crowd, facing toward the three leaders. Setherien, the Dark Master: "Fools. You dare march upon my land, upon my fortress? When my minions are finished with devouring your flesh, I will command your petty souls to serve for an eternity. March forward heroes, for you are marching into the jaws of hell.” A dead silence loomed over the stagnant night. Frightening moans and shrieks filled the atmosphere as the mutated horrors restlessly awaited their feast. Shortly after Setherien finished his speech, a loud tremor quaked the earth below the two armies. A massive Shurr'Dru ascended skyward, exploding from the corrupted soil below Setherien. The Dark Master seemingly appeared consumed whole from the jaws of the giant beast. A loud gasp escaped the mouths of the brave heroes, echoing across the plains. The giant Shurr'Dru continued to ascend toward the heavens, the earth trembling as the colossal worm tunneled through it. Before long, the immense beast started to screech in agony, writhing and twisting throughout the atmosphere. A large, red glow began to appear inside the center of the Shurr'Dru's stomach, and Setherien bursted out from within. Adhesive liquid poured out from the gaping hole, and Setherien erupted forth as a huge dragon. Though it did not appear as a normal dragon. It resembled the appearance of a drake, but the size of a Dragaar. Roughly five times the size of a normal dragon or drake, it was a true behemoth. A colossal titan. Setherien: "Foolish mortals, do you take me for an imbecile? None shall stand in my path! After hovering high above the races, the Drakaar began to fly toward Castle Greywynn. He landed down between a large breach in the fort's wall, crushing the already destroyed stone to dust. Setherien: “Come forth, heroes. Come forth and die.” He began to watch as the two mighty forces clashed into a blur of bloodshed. The mighty heroes hacked and slashed almost effortlessly through the corrupted's weakly reinforced plate armor; the combined forces of the four races overwhelmed their attempts at defending. The open plains were quickly overrun by the heroic races, and the abominations were forced to retreat across their bridge, slashing at its supports along the way. Though it was not enough to hold back the heroes' determination. They would not settle for victory until each of them had suffered from the gift of death. Anthos' heroes quickly marched their troops across the bridge, and they continued to duel against the dark forces. Watching as his horde became overwhelmed, Setherien commanded his chief lieutenants to fall back. The remaining Hiishtgul and the Gathiisht obeyed their master and fled toward the depths of the North. Setherien: "You have won a feeble victory this day, mortals. I will exact my revenge on your puny cities and sanctuaries. I will drag your pitiful bodies into the depths of the North, into the darkest of caves myself! And when you believe that the light has come to save you, my shadow will devour it whole." Setherien breathed a torrent of consuming flames toward his opponents, and then flew toward the gate of the North. With one swift strike of his tail, the gate crumbled into mere fragments. The massive Drakaar then continued his retreat, returning to the howling depths of the frigid North. The battlefield lay in ruins of its former self. The courtyard and structural defenses of Castle Greywynn destroyed even further than when the tainted first attacked the Teutonic Order. The Glurtzfolok's corpses were scattered across the land -- Setherien's minions unable to gather and heal the dead bodies. The Cloud Temple monks arrived soon after to gather the dead for reviving, but noticed that the corrupted remains were still present. Having not been presented with the opportunity in the past, they attempted to heal and rejuvenate the tainted body and mind. They managed to successfully heal many, but some were simply too far gone. Those that were healed bore scars and some deformities that could not be regenerated. Few managed to be restored wholly, and those that did still suffered from nightmares and blurred memories. The ranks of the Glurtzfolok -- the Kambasor, Kalus, Zongot, and Rog-Votak -- were effectively healed and removed from Setherien's grasp. Their will fully restored. (While this may confuse many players, all will be revealed soon. As I said, this battle was meant to act as a catalyst for change within the main antagonist, and it is certainly being changed. More info soon). Hope had been restored to the mortal races. Aruzond's advice had been heard; the mortal races finally united under one force. The corruption slowly began to deteriorate within the Druid's Grove, and the dark taint dwelling in Castle Greywynn was gradually fading. But the war wasn't over. Somewhere far, far below the icy earth of the North, a meeting commences. Hooded figures gather around a dusty, stone table. The room is dark, and a small lantern is lit in the center. The shadowy forms take their seats, and their leader sits down at the head of the table. One of the shadow-like beings that goes by the name of Orithur begins to speak through telepathy. "The Undead have taught them how to retaliate against us. We do not stand a chance against their combined forces." Mortum'Vherzix scowls, "Nonsense! That castle was worthless, I say let them have it! We will strike back and show them true power." The group of hooded shadows trade looks and then gaze toward their leader. Vak'thuul shakes his head in discontent, breaking the silence, "The mortal races are truly pitiful creatures. We will present them with a gift; a taste of His power." He withdraws an ancient tome from within his robes. Numerous unknown symbols are scattered across the tome's cover. "If we cannot strike against their walls, we will strike them from within."

Geo 1415 Share Posted August 3, 2013 As Tla'Morthawl stands upon the battlefield after the victory, he stays alone, the Kharajyr warriors returning to their island for many mountains of cake consumption. One thought burns a hole in his mind. "Even if this evil is defeated. The humans, dwarves, orcs and elves will rip this land apart from greed, as they did when they invaded Metztli's paradise; Asulon. History repeats itself, and Metztli's warriors shall not allow it." ((Edit: Oh, here was me thinking this was an RP thread...))

Blundermore 2741 Share Posted August 3, 2013 Generally when a baddie makes a big bad speech about foolish mortals then loses the battle the baddie loses all credibility... Haven't you ever watched an episode of Batman? You're no villain worth your grain in salt if don't have a massive monologue or speech before having your arse handed to you.

The Tech team needs to fix it so that we don't experience such horrific lag again, when only 150 players where online. Anywho, a great post Viper, I can't wait to see what the Antags have in store for us next!))
