Valon (Yokey) 168 Share Posted August 29, 2013 I've decided to write this post because I want to tell the halfling community how much they mean to me. This isn't a leaving post, or a plea for attention, just a thank you, and a bit about each of them and why they're great to know. I've been with the halflings since the near beginning of my time on the server. My first character was Salmon, a pink haired halfling who loved fish. From the start, the halflings were kind and helpful. uracow and Dr Dovahkiin helped me make Salmon more lore-friendly while keeping his defining traits, and Milo helped me tidy up his skin. I've known Milo and Dovah from the start, and they've been nothing but helpful. No matter the need, they attend to it. As Elders and as Halflings, they fit their roles with nothing but efficiency. uracow helped keep my RP up during those slow times. He'd show up with a gift, or a bottle of whiskey in the middle of the night. He's a funny guy, and a brilliant halfling. Aptrotta was around since my start as well. At first, every time I saw him, he'd have to go or something, and it wasn't until around my second week I really met him. When I did, I met a nice, fun-loving guy with a cool character. We had roleplayed often, and I hope to see him IG again more. I met Aris before he was even sheriff, and had some fun times with him. He was around a lot, and has been recently promoted to elder, a position he well deserves. Posco Bramble. the fastest old hat there ever was, and a relaxed, compromising roleplayer. He has become one of my best friends on the server, seeing we share such similar interests and the like. After a while, Salmon became Salm and Salm became Salm Melontoes. I met many new people, and strengthened my knowledge of the halflings. I met SuperSodaPops, an outstanding guy, very dedicated and very knowledgable. It was a real pleasure meeting him, and Bili. And alas, so many have come and passed I can't remember them all. Salm died, perma, and I moved on to other roleplay for a short while. One issue I had was the great memories those people had implanted in me. It just kept drawing me back, even when I wanted to branch out. Nothing would ever be good enough again. So I tried again. Fail. And again. Fail. Which brings us to my current character. Yokey Fatroot. Many halflings have come around, and I've met many more people. such as Han, a very deep person, and enjoyable to talk to. Rhia and Sparrow came around, who are very swell people, friendly as can be. I've played Yokey to the present, and plan on playing him even more. So in short, what I love about the halflings, in fact, why I love them, is their community. Never have you seen such lovely folks. To paraphrase Bilbo Baggins: Near nine months is too short a time to be around such admirable halflings. I plan to be with you to the end of Anthos, and beyond. I want to take up responsibility, and continue working to keep us the best roleplay LotC can offer (IMO). I truly love you all.

Magiik 20 Share Posted August 31, 2013 I have to agree with you. I may not be too well known and I've only been a halflings for a week or two, but this is the most welcoming and friendliest group of people on the server. Everyone goes out of their way to roleplay or help you out. Also, is it funny that the advertisement for this section of the forums was about the audio book version of The Hobbit?
