Yes, I agree, but its not rp for 53% of a nation to all be mages. Not everything is reasonable, but logically they should have a martial army. They can kill anyone they want RP, now they have to play MC mech. like everyone else and they cower. A cities population of mage to citizen should not be that high to start with, its not Harry Potter for pete's sake.

Err, can I point out the fact that in some books, I.E. Inheritance Cycle, and some of the Terry Brooks books, like ALL Elves are mages... They all have the power to perform magic. Just like in LotC ALL characters have this ability. Only, instead of taking twenty minutes in OOC to become 'Master Swordsmen' they have taken months to become 'Okay Mages'. I don't see how it would be Logical for them to take time out of their studies (Considering Magic is stronger than Might) to have a martial army just because Nexus isn't out yet!

Regardless of that, it doesn't matter. It's an ooc reason. Not an rp reason.

Technically... it is actually both RP and OOC. In RP it would be near impossible for you to take the High Elven City, but without the magic plugin, you yourselves are abusing that and power gaming by taking the city.

In rp, how would it be impossible? Second, I'm just a merc looking at both sides for a contract once this ends.

I said /near/ impossible, not impossible itself. And the reason for why it would be /near/ impossible would be because this is a city of mages atop high walls that look down at you. They have many advantages over you 'mercs' and this group.

Going by the way magic works RPly it would not be impossible. Say a large force attacks, sure the ones that go in first will be wiped out. But a mage can only shoot so many fireballs and cast so many spells before they get tired. Shooting an arrow/bolt or swinging a sword takes much less energy and it's something almost anybody can do.

You then must fight the high elves with a magic plugin, full armor and all their respective allies.

Wot

This bends all the set war rules set down to my knowledge.

1: The very idea of a sneak attack is not unheard of, you can argue all you want saying that you could part way through call allies or something.

2: Armor is fine, you have it, use it. Battles are MC mechanics.

3: I am sick of high elves hiding behind the reason of the magic plugin. This is actually blatant power gaming. You can come and piss off any nation or group you wish and hide behind this with no repercussions. You could go and murder the king of Oren and then hide behind this reason, you cause the problem you must deal with it. This is a pure OOC reason to settle problems that YOU start in RP. If you keep power gaming with this reason watch the amount of people that will come crashing down on you seeking revenge.

4: As I said above, battles are MC mechanics, this takes away any strength or over powered aspects from EVERYONE not just the high elves. Orcs cant knock down doors with ease during battles, rangers cant jump from tree to tree etc. neither can you use magic. The playing field is leveled.

Long story short, you cause problems you have to deal with it. Stop hiding.

I'm just going to interject and address each of your points in turn quickly.

1. It's certainly not unheard of, but there's an issue in this case. One, which was already addressed, is that a land attack would be /by no means/ a sneak attack due to the fact that they'd have to march through Malinorian territory. Regarding a sea attack. The Silver Enclave has outposts along the sea and the city is situated high in the mountains. You'd be seen coming miles upon miles away. In ships, nonetheless. The area was strategically chosen for a reason.

2. We were told that our mages were not permitted to wear armor and use MC weapons to represent magic.

3. Note that the character that this 'anti-High-Elf' group was started with was originally named "Odolf" (and still is, I believe) and was a blatant name parody of the current POTUS and Adolf Hitler and was recognized as such by the FMs and a few of the GMs. There was no instigation on our part and in no way do we actively strive to 'piss off' other nations and hide behind any reasoning.

4. Battles are with Minecraft mechanics, yes. We note, however, that the Orcs /were/ permitted to knock down doors with ease during their last excursion into the High Elven city (which was with 14 people and not a war-claim was issued). Rangers can MCly jump from tree to tree if it's made possible. The Enclave's mages, however, have been prohibited from using MC armor and MC weapons to in any way represent their magic if what has been said is true.

What if....

We all calm down, and actually try to enjoy ourselves? Think the Byzantines liked it when they Constantinople was attacked?

Exactly, let us just wait until the magic plug in is releases so we can have a fair fight. Trashing the High Elven community in this thread is completely immature as this is a warclaim and we have the right to deny it.

Ok everyone no more fighting until the next plugin, lets all just hold hands and tell spooky ghost stories while we wait.

Point: Hey guys what if we were to attack last map? There would be no excuse as should there be now... If you do not want to play in the servers current state leave until the next plugin is ready. Its not my jobs to make the 5% feel at home an cozy, we are sure your magic tricks are cool and such but its not an excuse. Do you think the French said "Hey Germans stop we are not ready yet".

Once again, I did not say 'impossible' itself. I said /near/ impossible. And I do understand your point, but still attack the High Elves as of now with this is meta-gaming for you know they do not have magic. It is also power-gaming because it would take an incredibly large force to face off against them in their walled city, with you being below those walls, and it not being possible to be a sneak attack.

It is hard to accept a warclaim from someone who has been blatantly trolling a community over the last month. I know your reaction. You are going to say no and that is was all legit RP that you were trying to provide. However it has been clear to me that the unneeded inspiration and backstory of your past topics is nothing but your want to cause anguish in the high elven community OOCly. Are you trying to give good RP? Are you trying to provide substainal RP? No. I cannot say that you are. Not a single positive thing has come of all these war/genocide posts but OOC bickering. You cannot look at one side and say "You are being the bad guys" when your side is riddled with immoral actions as well.

In reality while one side might be abusing an OOC mechanic to stop this the other side is abusing that OOC mechanic to gain a severe upper hand. If you so desperately wish to destroy the high elves why would you not wait for your foe to be at it's proper strength?

If you want to provide good RP then rethink your actions because I can't help but see this warclaim as trolling along with the rest of your threads these past few weeks.

In conclusion. The high elves will fight if made to but the RP behind it is severely lacking.

EDIT: Also telling people to "leave" until the plugin comes out is not an attitude you should be having. It fuels a needless fire.

((I think this is the best idea. A level playing ground is the best one, and it makes so people don't get mad :). Right now this seems like something which will just make everyone mad. Remember, we're all here to have fun!))

Those accusations are unfounded, and my reasons are based on role play, so your should revise your statement being a staff member. Because I named my character after two tyrants its not destroying any role play, this in fact is very much so. If we had to wait 2-3 more weeks for the plugin i would, but im not waiting till January its crazy... A group cannot be invincible for months at a time, it is completely unrealistic.

I will offer them enchanted weaponry to ease the disadvantage but that is it.

We would attack them regardless if they had magic or not. Even if they had magic, th entire Dwarven Nation(and it's allies and vassals), (assuming) orcish nation would be more than enough for a high elf city full of magic. Right now, all the people attacking are some anarchists and some mercs.
