Orc Interest (Ooc)

Howdy Orcs! I'm going to be quick here, I've got interest in making an actual Orc character. I played a Goblin a while back and that was fun, but some things popped up and I decided not to play him any longer, and now I've actually got a firm interest in playing a real Orc.

My questions to you are -

1) What makes Orc RP enjoyable?

2) How can I make a character that will be long lasting, and won't get dull?

3) What sort of things would you guys like to see from an ET member?

Thanks, and I hope I get some good answers soon!

Ooh, and here's the picture that made me want to do this.

1. What makes Orc RP enjoyable is the comedy and camaraderie. We're extremely tight-knit, and I think we've displayed in the past how hilarious we are. Furthermore, there is no other race that you can enjoy interactions with other races as much as Orcs. Purposefully messing your blah when talking to a clueless Human and watching them squirm is always entertaining.

2. Make an Orc character that is interesting to you? I can't really tell you how to create a fun character, but I can tell you that the only way to have an enjoyable experience as an Orc is to remain with other Orcs, as well as wander around the pinkskin settlements on occasion.

3. Once the dust settles on our whole Salvus situation, I would like to work with a large number of ET members to help do a wide variety of events regularly. Orcs kind of struggle to find RP amongst ourselves, because all we talk about is klomping, skahing and eating. Furthermore, Orcs are just not talkative in nature, we need something to make us want to speak. I'd love to have daily small events with the Orcs (Orcs loooove mob events - clicky clicky). In my experience, the best roleplay is when Orcs interact with what is strange to them.

Good to see you have an interest.

Orc RP is fueled by action and change.  Gotta live in the fast lane dog.

1) What makes Orc RP enjoyable?

I would have to say that the companionship of being an Orc has to be the most enjoyable part, to be honest. Our best times are when we are together, raiding, torturing, klomping or just plain old out-drinking every other race in the nearest tavern. We might be one of the smallest races, yes, but we are definitely the closest to each other, and you will find that bonding with other Orcs will come easily and enjoyably. A common problem that arises is when we're not with other Orcs, however. You might find it difficult to roleplay with other races, and perhaps even awkward. I know I definitely feel isolated when away from the Trog or the Desert, and it's generally more fun when you take a friend with you to intimidate the locals. Pairing and strong friendship bonds are common between one or two bonds, and it's a certainty that when playing as an Orc you'll find someone who shares your interests and goals, and who will end up having your back just as much as you have theirs at the end of the day.

2) How can I make a character that will be long lasting, and won't get dull?

Stay with the clan, is all I have to say. Whitewashes generally don't last long as characters (With several 'special' exceptions being made), because of the difficulty for Orcs to roleplay with other races.
If you bond with another Orc, or even find a lifemate (Preferably not a pinkskin!), it's a great way to keep you connected to the community and the race as a whole. Good Orcs are strong, determined, thick headed and brutal; always enjoying a good fight when the occasion arises. If you get bored of hanging around the Trog or the Badlands all day every day, try the halfling village! It's a common pass-time to venture over the mountains to scare the pants off our little Hobbit friends, and brings fun and possibly tragic roleplay (Being crushed by trees, primarily).

As a rule, mob events are the best for brutal, clicky clicky addicted orcs!
My good friend BrandNewKitten has brought us many great mob events, as well as a few special ones for me and my friends, including a sailing trip that didn't end very well (He has a thing for giant sea monsters). Being an event team member, I think joining the Orcs would be a great way for you to bring some well appreciated Events to our part of the community, and gain reputation as a generally fun, and inventive person among the Orcs.
So, once again, evil, skeleton spawning necromancers and mid ocean tragedies are just a few the events that I know would definitely play out well for the Orcish playerbase, and i'm sure as an Event Team member you can bring many more awesome events into the Trog!

I'll be rejoining soon as well, as soon as I patch together a new skin and my work settles down. I've never really felt at home anywhere else as I have when I was an orc. I've tried a few other characters but nothing sticks. If there's any last-ditch effort to keep me from leaving the server, it's returning to the orcs, especially now that PvP is default and the server seems to be getting back to it's roots.

The key to keeping it fun is pretty much just roll into the thick of it and let it all hang out. Hang with other orcs. Don't get too hung up on the clans or the politics, just focus on being an orc, doing orcish things and having a good time. Kill stuff, get killed and get into trouble. The funnest times I've ever had on this server involved doing those three things with my orc.
