Roguealicious 34 Share Posted September 9, 2013 So I've been playing a Human for the last few weeks. She became a member of the Salvian Cardinals, and due to how much I suck at pvp, I died a lot during the events leading to the fall of salvus xD So i decided to permakill the character during the battle and now i'm looking to start a new character, probably not until 4.0 arrives though. So my question is, what races/sub-races are fun and interesting to play, with large RP involvement, and little pvp? I know it probably sounds a silly question because you can make any races like that, but I guess what I really want to know is what each races is like to play as? Pros and Cons? I'm not interested in playing another Human, but I might take it into consideration..

Sentlit 108 Share Posted September 9, 2013 The High Elves of Haelun'or have a very petty, pretentious culture very far from PvP-based conflit. Making a High Elf could be lots of fun if you're into class an sophistication. Even if you're an impure Elf, there is much RP to be found in the capitol of Malinor. The Halflings have been known for friendly, happy, cheerful RP that is quite far from conflict. From what I've heard, their community is great for new members. These are the first two that I thought of when you said you wanted to avoid PvP. Good luck making a new character, and I hope you have fun with it! :D
Roguealicious 34 Author Share Posted September 9, 2013 I don't want to avoid it necessarily, I just want it not to be constantly present.
Destinator 137 Share Posted September 9, 2013 Well, I would say playing an elf that lives in Malinor (Luminaire) is a good choice- the people there are friendly and good rp'ers. However there have been many fights breaking out recently... Anyway, as others have said, the halflings are a great, fun community that involves almost no PVP (I have never seen anybody in Lenfarthing engage in PVP). So I would either go with an elf in Malinor, or a halfling.
Sky 0 Share Posted September 9, 2013 I would recommend any race to be honest, all races have their degree of PvP, so if you want it to not be the focus point of your role-playing experience instead of thinking "What race suits me?" why not think "What occupation suits me?" To me, PvP is everywhere no matter what race you are, it all depends on what occupation your character has under his/her belt.
3andD 1722 Share Posted September 9, 2013 Kralta, we have an extremely unique community and a fun roleplay style. Come by and see our beautiful builds, maybe stay a while and become a strelt.

Anyways, I'd recommend a halfing, since they probably receive less pvp.
Major Tom 139 Share Posted September 9, 2013 Halflings provide a ton of fun RP and are pretty good about keeping away from conflict RP (though occasionally a band of Orcs might stop by Lenfarthing for a quick snack!), the only really bad thing bout being a Halfling is that Lenfarthing is usually empty. Low playerbase, but when you can find RP it tends to be fantastically zany. Course it's really different from playing a Human so it might take a bit of getting used to. Anyways, I'd recommend a halfing, since they probably receive less pvp. Yeah, it probably isnt the case, but it certainly felt like it at the time (in hindsight probably because I was frustrated myself) but it seemed like whenever my old character was out of the Citadel with armour, they got focused for pvp. without armour usually left alone. Halfling or Elf seem to be a good option for me right now.
monkeypoacher 8055 Share Posted September 9, 2013 If you want to avoid PvP, play a child or a woman or something. Honestly, due to the uneven distribution of wealth in this map everyone's a bandit of some kind. I'd just simply avoid people who you know will start fights and go RP with a group of people that you know enjoy not getting into combat.
