Government Structure Explanation:
While the structure of Fennic government is different from its traditional expression, a prince and a princedom, several core bureaucratic structures remain.
Power within the Archonate is centered around a Council of Archons-- An Archon is the head of one of the major ancestral bloodlines of the Fenn, Drakon, Atmorice, Sylric, Tathvir, and Ithrandos (And Nominally Tundrak). As well as a speaker for the bloodless residents of the Archonate who is elected by the bloodless. Though theoretically each vote is of equal weight and measure to the other, the bloodlines typically fall into blocks, or parties dominated by one bloodline. Among these bloodlines they will elect from one of their own, an executive figure who manages all external diplomacy, though remains nominally accountable to the other Archons. They are called “The First Speaker of The Fenn.” Though are more usually referred to as their regular Archonic Title, ex, Archon of Drakon, Archon of Tathvir, Archon of Atmorice. This position is not permanent, subject to a vote of no confidence, and semi-regular elections.
Offices of governance, not necessarily held by members of the Archonic Council, such as high steward, treasurer, or the High Sentinel, commander of the Ivae’fenn, are appointed by the council through a vote, or in the case of the High Sentinel, directly by the Executive without any input from the council. A majority of the Archonates day to day running, and decision making falls to these positions. Including housing, logistics, tax rates, and management of the treasury.
While there is currently no agreed candidate for the title of “Prince of the Mali’fenn.” Or princess, for that matter. The role has not been entirely retired, a royal is still a theoretical possibility, should the Archonic council consent to one. Though the exact measure of the Royals reach in society, role, and the timespan for such is hotly debated by the blocks within the Archonic council-- and oocly.

How does this realm/settlement offer a unique niche not already found in an existing group on the server?:
There is a singular elven nation on the server right now, and it exists within the empire. Not only does this settlement add variety in allegiance, it adds variety in culture. The mali’fenn are a distinct elven group that predates most other established Elven groups on LoTC. The ‘fenn are niche by definition if by that alone.
Though there are other points. Among all current elven cultures on LoTC, the mali’fenn are the most famous-- or infamous-- for their martial prowess and history. While other martial cultures exist, no Elven culture has established themselves within even an arms length of the Mali’fenn in terms of both being feared, and hated by hundreds of communities throughout their time on LoTC.
Their location is also unique to all other elves, together with their religion. These two are inseparable so I will address them as though they are one factor. The ‘fenn exist as one of two groups on the server that are active dedicants of Wyrvun-- despite his absence as a God-- they have remained steadfast for over an OOC decade. To that dedication, they have often, as often as possible placed themselves firmly in the tundra and appointed themselves its premier guardians.
How does your realm/settlement tie to the greater lore and narrative set by the community on LotC?:
The Fenn are an ancient group on LoTC, in its earliest forms appearing late 2014, early 2015. Though having evolved in a way to become unrecognizable across the span of over a decade the ‘fenn remain a constant, if quiet constant, within the greater world of LoTC not only as a distinct, prideful, and isolated sect of elves, but as the self proclaimed watchers of the tundra. But this is not only idle talk or a fleeting element of their culture, but history, crafted and shaped by players, has molded the ‘fenn into what they are today.
Every aspect of the mali’fenn, from their distinct dialect of Elven, to their clothing, the style of their armor, the houses in which they dwell, and the structure of their government and daily action is informed by the collective collaboration that is Fennic culture. This settlement application-- if approved-- would only serve to be the next rendition of a race struggling against their dying light, fighting, not to drown and maintain relevance. Perhaps for the 11th time, to be crushed, and drowned and pulled into the deep by the hands of other players. Perhaps to remain as a stable entity.
Either way, if accepted, there is no failure. It is the intention of our player group to live up to the highest standards of ‘Snow Elf larp.’ Frequent player events, offering darkspawn groups within the Tundra whom we have had conflict with in the past, a more constant source of prey, and battles to fight in good faith, and sincere opposition. Of all the groups upon LoTC, perhaps the least afraid of roleplay consequences, and the most willing to accept the negative outcomes, there is no doubt in the mind of any person familiar with the playerbase, and history of: It is time and time again, the Mali‘fenn.
Have you ever run a realm/settlement on LotC before and what experience does your group have with leadership within roleplay communities?
Yes, I personally have almost 5 years of experience of leadership on the servers, almost from exactly the end of my first year of LoTC. For the past 3 years I’ve been involved with the snow elf project from the rise of the previous Princedom, to the current era. I understand the difficulty, the time commitment and importance of my position. Furthermore, I appreciate the trust placed in me by my community.
Do you understand the metrics for upkeep, maintaining activity, and the grounds for realm/settlement removal?
Yes :3c
