ON THE PROBLEM OF SECULARISM As we know, the Church lays the foundation for the great Canonist nations and spreads its norms and values across the entirety of our nations. Whether we have a different rite does not matter for we all worship the One True GOD and we serve the One True Church. It is in this thesis that I, Benedict, a mere member of the laity, will voice my perspective on the essence of the Church and the use of it that we will all need to live in harmony amongst our Canonist brothers and sisters under the watch of GOD, the Exalted and the Venerated who see us from the Seven Skies. To attend mass is one of the most essential actions that you must do in your life as you have become an adult. It is there where we learn how to live up to the example that the Exalted layed out for us in their Scrolls and where we learn how to live like a Canonist and where we pray to the Saints for them to pray for us to have the success in life that every Canonist deserves. To attend mass is not to be forced to do so due to your cultural upbringing, it is something that must be activated into your own mind through your piety and absolute devotion to GOD, nothing else can motivate you to attend mass otherwise. If you have to be forced to attend mass because you usually do not attend, then what often is the case is that there is a fraction of unbelief within the person in question. If there is a Brother or Sister who copes with such, then the one thing a Canonist must do is to guide them towards the Holy Light which shall enlighten them to pray and to devote themselves to the path for which GOD had chosen the Exalted to guide us on. It is during mass that we truly find ourselves connected to GOD, our Creator and our Exalted; Horen, Sigismund, Owyn and Godfrey. The importance of prayer is often misunderstood and sometimes the laity does not realize that prayer requires patience or they do not know what to pray for. A prayer would often consist of personal achievement or ambition; but what would be much more rewarding is praying for how to make your life less miserable than it already is or was and how can GOD help you to make it not harm the family or friends around you? Prayer is the one thing that directly connects you to your heavenly Creator and it is the fundament of your piety to the One True Faith. If you have sinned, you can not simply hold the burden of that sin on you, you must pray to be forgiven. For if you have the burden of sin on you, you must hold yourself accountable for GOD and GOD forbid you harm anyone spiritually due to the burden of sin that you carry with you. In comparison to the idols of bloodshed in the false faiths outside of our blessed Canonist nations we have a GOD who forgives us, a GOD who guides us and a GOD who gives us signs through our prayer. It must be said however that praying on the downfall of one of your Canonist brothers or sisters must be absolutely frowned upon. If you support such a false show of piety you are no worse than an unbeliever within the heathen lands around us and makes you look like an outlaw of the Church in the eyes of GOD. To pray to harm your Canonist brothers or sisters for your own personal ambition is the very sign that Daemons have gone to the extent to control you as a marionette. Let it therefore be known that prayer is meant for the good of the fellow Canonists brothers and sisters around you and not for a selfish intent for your own ambitions and achievements. The Heathens and Schismatics are quite the subject when it comes to our One True Faith and Church. These are the very two sorts that we wish to protect our brothers and sisters from, and this goes either through sanctioned warfare by the Church or by spiritual warfare which is being spread by the absolute determination of confronting them with the truth of our Holy Scrolls and to return them back to the True Faith, whatsoever the cost. To be schismatic, makes you an absolute outlaw to the Church and to GOD Himself. You must pray for them, but never let their Daemon influenced tricks take you away from the path of our faith. It is important as a Canonist to still have a sense of forgiveness and compassion in spite of their difference of belief, but it must be known that you can not forgive them for turning their back on the GOD guided Church and on GOD himself. As far as heathens are concerned, it is the duty of Canonists clergy and laity alike to inform them about our faith and to even convert them to save their souls from the Void. However, if the heathen uses harm because you attempt to inform him or her, then you must protect yourself through force and if you die defending your faith, you are a martyr; a greater honor there cannot be. To be secularist in regards to not putting your faith on the first place is something that has started most of the conflicts between human nations. To think that our One True Faith comes below the political is a fraction of a heretical thought and to think that a GOD blessed elected Pontiff stands below you is something that breaks the very tenets of Canondom. To be completely acceptable of whatever breaks the Canon Law due to the secular freedom that the said nation proposes is absolutely ignorant and idiocy. Secularism is an absolute sin and to be a secularist means that you are willing to risk the people that you lead to walk away from the faith because the importance has been completely removed by your secular regime. As the title of this thesis states “The Essence of the Church” speaks for itself and without our faith we can not prosper as one faith. Let it however be known to our Canonist brothers and sisters that we must pray for those who live within a secular nation and must pray for them to find their way back to the Church and its teachings and pray that they shall embrace Him once more.
  4. The 2-3 week rule doesn't make sense to me because if someone is to make a Nomad culture it means they are to travel and replace themselves. To have a temporary ability to set up camp removes the main essence of actual Nomad RP. I do not understand why Nomad groups must be time-limited in terms of being able to only stay in a camp for 3 weeks. I certainly would like some more context to this because I believe setting a time limit on camps really does contradict the entire meaning behind having a Nomad group. I also think that the rules made for having (x) amount of members for a Nomad group shouldn't be at least 8 because this will more or less decimate the will of people to make Nomad groups in the first place since most of the playerbase will join an already-existing faction anyway. If this is not a way to decrease the existence of Nomad groups then I do not know what is.
  5. THE HOUSE OF ULDARIK The House of Uldarik was established by the firstborn son of Hunar, the first Chieftain and the Father of the Hunari, Uldarik. It was common to bring up the sons to become warriors because they are the one’s responsible for the prosperity and security of the Hunaric people. During Uldarik’s tenure as chieftain of the Hunari people, he married another Hunaric woman, named Amrita. She came to be known as the mother of the House of Uldarik, and so the House of Uldarik was born. Compared to the other Houses within the human world, the House of Uldarik is truly a House based on pure barbarism. The House of Uldarik bases its behavior off of the strongest form of ruthlessness. Briefly said, the House finds itself surrounded by violence and once they are sent into battle they will do everything to make sure no one leaves it wounded or alive. Norms and values are not quite a subject that is often discussed within the House of Uldarik, for them it is to do; and to do is to not feign affection to anything else surrounding their own House. In the present day, the House of Uldarik plays a role in the leadership of the Hunaric people and they intend to make a name for themselves by proving themselves within the League of Veletz due to their military-esque society. They intend to become a society of Hunaric within those lands and to aid the League with military efforts and to defend the people of the Heartlands against external threats. II. THE HUNARI Hunar, Progenitor of the Hunari folk. “Egy falkában támadunk, mint a farkas a hátadon.” The Hunari are a nomadic people who find their origin in the dry desert as nomads; over centuries they have made their way over the world and now consist of different looks and appearances but have the Hunaric culture in common with each other. Uldarik and his brothers, Dengizik, Mundzuk and Uldin, were nomads who traveled across the world to trade with people in weaponry across the world. It was through the descent of the brothers that many of the Hunari now have direct descent from the father of the Hunari, Hunar. Due to their nomadic habits they will always stay together as a tribe and serve to protect their culture and heritage. In Hunaric history however, marriage has never been exclusive to Hunari people only; there are Hunari with Raevir, Savoyard and Waldenian descent. In the years that followed the journey of the sons of Hunar, many adopted different names that are of a more Raevir origin, however in Hunari tradition they will bear their ancestral name as their second name to keep their ancestors close to them. In terms of history, that of the Hunari went into obscurity; literature has not been written about them due to them not willing to share their traditions and cultural heritage to strangers outside of their own House and culture. II. CULTURE AND TRADITIONS In Hunaric culture, the eldest of the family is well-respected for it is that person who continues to share the old ways of the Hunaric life to the newer generations. In Hunaric culture there are the following traditions that pass on to each generation: I. The Obtaining of the Horse A Hunari must be able to obtain their own horses and ride them, they are essential to the nomadic way of life. II. The Dance of the Swords A Hunari must be able to wield the sword to protect his kin, culture and traditions. To fight is essential. III. The Pelt Hunt A Hunari must be able to get their own pelts; this is often a wolf pelt for it symbolizes the animal that Hunar wore during his battles. III. THE HOUSE OF ULDARIK “A farkas a mi gyámunk” The House of Uldarik is amongst the Hunari a well respected House because it descends from the first leader of the united Hunari, Uldarik; the son of Hunar. The House is now settled within the League of Veletz as the brothers Andrik and Basik continue to do their ancestors proud by fighting whenever it is necessary. The House now takes a leading role in guiding the Hunari into prosperity. IV. THE HUNARIC LANGUAGE The Hunaric language is a language that has its origin within the Turkin language but has changed over the generations. Many words of the Hunaric vocabulary have also been influenced by the Raev. Faith It has been long known in the Duchy of Adria that the patriotism to the Adrian culture is one of the many foundations that keeps the Adrian leadership running. It is through election that we decide the fate of our people and the prosperity of our Duchy as a whole. Albeit, the tradition of our election has been overruled for many times. Example to the past dynasty of Novellen who ruled the Holy Orenian Empire and claimed the title through Joseph II, Holy Orenian Emperor to make it a hereditary title of the Orenian Imperial Family and pass it down to his successors. A situation that is never supposed to be repeated ever again. One might say that the concept of Adrianism had started during the Dumapalooza that was started and had chosen Franz III, Duke of Adria instead of Prince Philip Aurelian of the Holy Orenian Empire. For Franz III was truly a representative of the Raevir culture and its tradition. In one way or the other the concept continues to exist for the fair election and governing of the Adrian people must come from those with the heritage to prove it so. It is a fact that there are patrician families who have an Adrian background to participate in our elections. People of pure Horenic descent, more specifically the House of Novellen and its cadet-branches, are excluded due to the grotesque mistakes made in the past in regards to the succession of the title “Duke of Adria ”. To be an Adrian is to be determined to respect the tradition of election and to trust in your leader whether the candidate went against your vote or not. To be an Adrian is to stand up for your people and tell our Duke of the problems that you are facing within our society. It is the will of the Adrian Duma to make changes when such problems are faced and to apply laws to support it. The Duma is the governing embodiment of Adria who shall discuss the future of our Duchy and its population. Raevir culture and tradition have always played a part in the development of the Duchy of Adria. So the Duchy of Adria has also become a concept in regards to the culture that has been passed on through the generations and through various Dukes. For example our past leaders: John I, Josip I, and Ratibor I. It has never been the case that our Duchy has been culturally conservative for we have always allowed those of various other cultures to come and trade with us. We have never been a stranger to the other cultures who come and trade with us, as long as they respect our Raevir norms and values within our own borders. In the concept of Adrianism; the preservation of our culture, language and tradition is absolutely vital for it is the backbone for the successors who come in the generations and centuries after us. We shall never give our honorable culture into the hands of the Imperials ever again. Adrians are known to defend their homeland by any means necessary, should any outside force attempt to make us cease to exist; we are not the ones to give in. As far as our defense force is concerned we are capable of deflecting attacks inflicted by anyone who attempts to seize our Duchy. An Adrian is one who raises his sword and uses it against its aggressors, not to murder any innocent civilians such as children and the elderly. In the concept of Adrianism, we believe that all are capable of fighting. Depending on which Duke one might be having a quarrel with, to have a quarrel with one Adrian House means the entirety of Adria against you. The last and most important tenet is faith. Adrians are devout practitioners of Canondom and shall act in the name of The Church when asked to do so. As far as faith is concerned, our own patron saint; Saint Emma of Woldzmir, is one that us Adrians hold most dear to our hearts and ask her to pray for us during our prayers before her icon. INTRODUCTION Dumacracy is one of the core foundations of the Adrian society, and many beg the question: How does one uphold dumacracy, how does one contribute to the dumacracy, how does the One faith play a role in a dumacratic society, and how does one secure the dumacracy as an individual. In this theory penned by Vladimir Ratiborovich Sarkozic, there will be plenty of answers to the aforementioned questions. II. HOW DOES ONE UPHOLD DUMACRACY? Dumacracy must be upheld by both the Duke of the Adrians and the population; it is an ideological set of beliefs where the governing body and the population are responsible for determining the guidance of the Adrian people. One often will find their candidacy in local government, join the ranks of the mighty Adrian army, or involve themselves in everyday civilian duties such as the trade of various wares, blacksmithery, or engaging with the community of Adrians. To uphold the Dumacracy is much more than simply being an Adrian; it is to live how our forebears lived within the historical eras of Our Duchy. It is to set foot into their steps on the very ground that they bled and died for and to make them proud of what we can achieve as a collective. III. HOW DOES ONE CONTRIBUTE TO THE DUMACRACY? In regards to the Dumacracy within our government, the Dumacracy can only be upheld with fair elections, votes, and the candidacy of those who have obtained the respect of the Adrian society. To contribute to the realm as a civilian, one will serve the lands you live on and share with your compatriots the many things you have in common, whether Highlander, Heartlander, or Farfolk. It is in the interest of Adria that we are the leading example of what a Dumacracy must be and be determined to serve our people by any means necessary. The most important tenet of contributing your capabilities to Dumacracy is to be an Adrian, and Adrians are the Dumacracy. IV. HOW DOES ONE SECURE THE DUMACRACY AS AN INDIVIDUAL? As aforementioned, to secure the Dumacracy is to use one’s capabilities to support the balance of our society. One could show their determination to the Dumacratic cause by joining the levy's ranks for our people's security, becoming a blacksmith to make weapons for our people's defense, or a cook to feed our people. What one does for the council, militia, and the trade between us and other realms is the very representation of what one would do to keep supporting the Dumacratic system of our society. HOUSE OF ARIANITES The Coat of Arms of House Arianites “Δικαιοσύνη, Ενότητα, Δόξα: Η Αρχή μας, η Καρδιά μας, η Αιώνια Μας Κληρονομιά.” The House of Arianites is one of the last remaining Akritian noble houses to ever dwell upon Almaris. The House was known to have led two Baronies within the lands of the Commonwealth of Sutica; and those Baronies were known as Trabzon and Cartagena. The first head of House Arianites was Theophilos Komnenos-Arianites, Baron of Cartagena and Trabzon who was a renowned Holy Sir within the Church of the Canon. Soon after the passing of this man his successor was Loukas Komnenos-Arianites, and after his son; Filippos Theophilos Arianites who established the House of Arianites as an independent body; disconnected from the Orenian branch of their parent House. It was only until recently in the year of 1924 that the de-facto patriarch returned to the shores of Almaris to resettle with his family and accompany the others in the encampment in the ruins of San Luciano. The current patriarch, Georgios Theophilos seeks to restore the ancient Akritian culture along with its ancient roots for orthodox Canondom unlike his predecessor named Filippos. The ideology of the House of Arianites is that of great pride in being the historical inhabitants of the south and being ethnically bound to it. The House of Arianites had abandoned its former grudges against other farfolk cultures such as the Karamanogullari, the Qalashi and the Hyspians. The House firmly believes that the only way for the farfolk to thrive is to work together as one and to strive as one in the desert as one strong body. CURRENT PATRIARCH Georgios Theophilos Arianites Baron of Trabzon and Cartagena Georgios Theophilos was born on 25th of Sigismund’s End, 1879 in the south of Almaris to Theophilos II, Baron of Trabzon and a Turkin lady by the name of Bala who descended from the ancient nomads of the Karamanoğullar, the old inhabitants of the south. At his early life and birth, many of Georgios his family moved into obscurity after the Sutican Civil War initiated by Georgios’s grandfather Filippos under the lead of Corbin Wick. After the defeat of the Southern Sutican Alliance, Georgios and his family relied on survival within the ruins of Savoy. It was only until recently that they were held company by many others around Almaris as the Mori invaded the continent in the 1900s. In Georgios’s his youth, he began to study Canondom to reject the beliefs of his grandfather who had turned on men of his own faith. It was during such a study where Georgios’s developed a great love for the Church and its teachings; at the same time being accepting of other human faiths which were related to his House such as the Rashidun and the Kashgari faith.
