  2. We're carrying through with what think is the most cost-effect route possible, we've cut the server costs in-half by removing heavy plugins and moving to a host that is renown for service and clarity. From there we will decide how to handle any "DDoS" we may receive with the available resources and services - What option do you have in mind?
  3. We are currently switching hosts, which should hopefully be finished today or tommorow and ready for us to swap over all of our data from the forums / main server & 3.0 map - I've been spending time with the Ms's and I apologize for not bumping this thread ~
  4. Hey there LoTC, Shiftnative here with some lore for ya, most of all of what is listed below has actually happened through-out the servers life and has proven to be quite a tale. Just about all of which has happened, stems from in-game happenings. Villager Lore "Villagers from the west, came to Aegis shortly after the Ascended city of Haven was destroyed. These villagers built quaint homes on the very land that harbored the powerful race. It was not long before bandits visited the land along the White Road and the villagers were run out of their homes. With their hamlet looted and taken, they fled westward from once they came. They watched as Aegis burned slowly from tip to tip and knew they too would be forced to flee. After the warriors entered Drauchriem, the villagers veiled their faces and followed behind the races of Aegis into the obsidian portal to what was known as - "The Verge." Once the villagers arrived in Asulon, they quickly found the remnants and ruins of the ancestors - or so they believed. Many relics and texts were recovered by the villagers and eventually many clues tied toward an island referred to as, "Adyton Island"(Not to be entered). The texts spoke of a catacomb so old and safe-guarded that it is said to hold ancient keys to the past. Before the villagers were strong enough to act however, the infinitely prosperous and powerful races of Aegis opened a mining colony on the very land they sought to protect. The villagers quickly intervened and purchased the northern end of the island from the miners and named their town "Lysistrata"(to break loose). They did not tell the miners just what lay on their end of the island and they sought to keep it from the rest of the realm. They immediately established borders with the miners and with the agreement met, it meant the catacombs would be safe. Until unknown miners, or explorers found their way beyond the borders of this agreement and looted the catacombs the villagers have fought for. They were found desecrated, tomes and relics strewn about and in the pockets of many." This final act pushed the villagers to the breaking point and they fixed their gaze on dark arts. Crafting scrolls and manipulating creatures of their choosing through texts found in their ancestors ruins. These once common villagers slowly began to become more and more like cultists. The miners whom establish the mining quarry at Adyton island were soon raided by pirates and forced to start a new colony elsewhere. They did so at what was known as "Xanthos" isle, to the west and deep within Xanthos mines a sandstone ruin, two books written by Wilven Adonan and an Emerald block were recovered by explorers. These explorers distributed the books as they pleased and it was not long before they ended up in the hands of the Villager cultists. Here are the two books below, Now that the villagers know just what may lay to the east, they have been looking for a spell strong enough to clear a passage. Twenty years or more ago though, Karik Dwarves uncovered two drakes in the belly of their ancestors halls. The drakes spat fire and destroyed much of the city, chasing the dwarves out of the kingdom. Rumors and legend spread over Asulon and as time passed, the myths grew fewer and tongues quieter. Until a miner, banished from Xanthos for thievery strolled about selling ancient goblin books, written in common. Speaking of the goblin over-hearing ancient Karik Dwarves whispering about drakes eggs in the city. Many turned the thief down, as he would not allow them to view the tomes contents or thought he was a fool in believing such an old tale. Until a cloaked figure offered to trade the thief land and the he obliged - but this thief was indeed clever. The tome was one of three, and he knew he could make a far better profit selling them individually. So he sold the other tomes to the Villagers, knowing how angry the Xanthos miners would be if they knew he gave their enemies stolen goods from the mines. Once the villagers had purchased the tomes and their lord read them over he decided to act swiftly by sending their drakes to Kal'dwain to destroy the Dwarven ships. However, the Wandering Wizard intervened and assisted the Dwarves in slaying the winged beasts. http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/70877-the-return-of-the-wandering-wizard/'>(Return of the Wandering Wizard Lore) At this point, the Lord of Lysistrata has become livid and seeks to carry out one final act before fleeing eastward through the fog toward the land our characters ancestors were too cursed to make it to. (LoTC 3.0) We hope to carry out the Lord of Lysistrata's final act sometime in November and I hope this got us all reading from the same page ;] and remember, much of this has been preserved by not Meta-Gaming. Let's keep it that way! Thank you for reading
  5. 24-48 hours before we can move hosts and buy protection, as for the main-server at the moment - that's up to the DDoS'ing and could end at any moment ~
  6. We're gonna get mentioned on the YogsCast Youtube this month, man the gatehouse - app team!

  7. Hey there LoTC, As you might of noticed, the mainserver is down - it looks to be a heavy DDOS and we will be forced to ride it out. However, we are on the phone with a new host and will give you guys more details when we've set it up with the hosts we'll be speaking to ! We'll be doing some more 3.0 posts while this the servers down and perhaps some livestreams? :]! Thank you for reading In the mean time, here's a render via 3.0 - made by mediocregamer **11/12/2012 Update** We've just begun processing the payments of the new server and we will be movin' to our new host as soon as we are able!

  10. Other works: I've worked on a few towns on lotc such as Nalemtoff (aegis), and Duranth (asulon). I'm going to add more to this, as I am on my phone right now. Oh, I also worked on a dungeon I believe at xanthos. Do you have teamspeak?:(Microphone not required.) Yep, I haz the TS3. I'm on there almost every day (with a mic). I also have a Skype if that is needed. You've all been accepted, i'll be sending you a PM when I'm able ! ~
  11. We removed the skills plugin souly because of how resource-heavy it was. we're looking to spend 40% less on the server by stepping down a bit on the processor in the box ! hope this clears things up. :ugeek:
  12. For the moment aye - can't give everyone a place to build all at once, thatd be madness!
  13. And some older players are going to need to remember to be patient and assist in newer players immersion and understanding of the server and its goals toward RP :>
  14. The following builders have been accepted and will recieve pm's shorlty ----------------------------------------- You're the first one with sufficient before / after screenshots - I mean no disrespect but below is things I expect the honey-bee's to watch for when lookin through here
  15. Heya, have you been added to the Event-Team skype group? If not - lemme know ! we'll go over 3.0 stuff aswells

  16. The main reasoning behind the removal of the skills plugin is the resources required to run it - every strike and craft pings the server with a request due to gaining experience, our current box is meant to deal with "experience gain" but is far too costly - The profession system will not have rigorous leveling and we're switching hosts soon ~ I assure you that variables involving the profession system will be voiced among the community when that time has come :ugeek: !
  17. Hey there friends, Recently Dgco - otherwise known as "reag" has been removing and tweaking some of our existing plugins. Some of these are temporary and some of these are not! -We've removed the skills system to eventually implement a "profession" system that does not require "grinding". -We've added the ability to regenerate your health without bandages - this may return in the future if players deem it beneficial. -We're tryin' to remove the mob-buffs that make them so powerful. ( Easier said than done, decoding someone's code 'aint easy! ) Happy roleplaying, we'll keep you updated in this thread ~
  18. Aye, he makes clever and very roleplay oriented plugins - it's a pleasure to have him with us

  19. More information about plugins and things? is that what you mean? - Absolutely.

  20. If this becomes regular, Asulon or the next map - we would happily post it on the main-page. I love these! (they would have to be conducted in roleplay, ofcourse)
