  1. I touched base with Telanir and he told me that making the regions shouldn't be a problem so I'm grabbing a few GM's and hoping to get them finished by early next week. (i'll be working on them while out of town this weekend.) Once the regions are complete I'll make a fifth and final 4.0 update - hope this helps!
  2. Feel like listening to some different tunes? Check out my post in this thread, http://www.lordofthecraft.net/topic/113213-lotcs-favorite-bands/#entry1086464

  3. I've spent the past 10 years searching, seeking, and sifting for music that holds a strong and singular tone - A tone that invokes the deepest and richest emotions from it's listeners. Below are some of my favorites, I'd love for you to have a listen and let me know how it made you feel! In the spoilers are videos Davy Graham : One of the greatest guitar players and songwriters the world has ever known. His fusion of musical influences and technique is unparalleled. Mississippi John Hurt : The grandfather of delta blues, his songs are like nursery rhymes. Big Bill Broonzy : Blues legend, he brought the blues to Britain. Jana Hunter : Texas native, she's got her own sound and it's awesome. Timber Timbre : One of the best bands of the past 10 years. Townes Van Zandt : Texas folk from the heart. The Kinks : Who doesn't already know the kinks?! Devendra Banhart : Modern hippie ringleader and virtuoso, from Texas. Marissa Nadler : She's young and her music is as hauntingly beautiful as she is. Vetiver : Lots of instruments and groovy tunes.

  6. What do you think about the plugins? If we tweak them to be a little more forgiving and had a small tutorial area in 4.0 they be something you'd like to have?

I think some basic skills, like fishing and cooking, should be turned in to 'subskills' that anyone can learn and max out at any time, considering those are basic skills you need to survive and even hobbies to some people.

Mining is still really grindy. I think if stone = 1 xp then it would be about 500x better.

I love the plugins and think they are fairly easy to learn. I think the grinding helps encourage people who are here for rp to stay here and causes disruption mainly with the people who log on just to fight (which I find as a positive).

  7. I've commented the original ban report, direct your questions to my inbox please and thank ya.

  9. As the title suggests, please post all bugs you find with the Thales plugins here. Remember, give us as much detail as possible and it will help us narrow down the problem!
  10. We aren't switching because this is a great time to test these plugins before we move to the new map and make sure they have the effect on server and roleplay that we hoped for (not to mention work out bugs & exploits!) And thanks duder
  11. If the nation leaders would prefer to do it another way it may be possible, but the benefit of leaving you guys to your devices is that it will test the plugin best - get together with the bigwigs and let us know!
  12. As soon as the tech's are able to swap the map over and double-check the plugins we'll be switching maps (two of them are on holiday, cut 'em some slack!) This map has a diameter of 2,000 blocks. We may not stay here for more than a few weeks. All items will be wiped. Thanks for watching/reading. Rhia's addition: Although the main map has ore and you will be able to mine on it we have also added a mine world. Its entrance is located near-ish spawn but before you rush over to get a head start on getting resources not everyone will have the ability to mine there ;) (Professions. hint. hint.) The mines are located at -101, 382 (spawn is not at 0,0 just so there is no confusion there). Just like mining on the real world you will need to add supports or you may get trapped in a cave in! We also added a GM shop, you will buy your beacons to claim plots there... so be sure to check it out! It's located at 411 210 (the split in the east road). Native just informed me he added another beacon shop at spawn for anyone heading west!
  13. It's separate from world-edit and does indeed create it's own regions, we'll play with them once they're on the dev
  14. Hey there, I'm making this post so we've all got a scope of 3.5.5 so, let me explain how I think should best be handled. (The actual size of these plots should be adjusted to fit the terrain best while keeping them away from the road/spawn - some of these may be too small so do your best to judge.) While we wait for the region plugin to be put on the dev we can create these regions by dropping down a glowstone block for reference. Once we have Nexus on here it will be super easy turn them into plots. What I do is fly above the area, use up 1 and place a glowstone block atop the glass put beneath me. These glowstone blocks represent the region's corner and it's all we need done until Nexus is put up. In 3.5.5 we won't be making any regions for players, it's important we set these regions up ahead of time because 4.0 will be similar to this. WE NEED TO MOVE HERE THIS WEEKEND. Thanks for reading, post below with concerns.
  15. Don't assume things man, all we did was make a road and added a desert to the seed. The temple is little more than a beacon and some sandstone blocks - just ask us what we added next time and you may be surprised.
  16. The biggest bonus for us is being able to test the 4.0 plugins on a a large scale which will ensure 4.0 will be much smoother and find ways to better acclimate them, so I'm very glad for that.
  17. Later this week, thursday / friday or saturday - basically as soon as the tech's can piece together their plugins and whatnot.
  18. Bringing down the other map and forcing everyone to play on this "3.5.5" will allow us to use the main-server and it's resources to not only test the plugins and their effect on the server but also to test their effect on roleplay. Aside from that, the only thing that will change is the map and it's builds - hope this helps!
  19. All it took was someone to make a problem-solving, polite and informative forum post, thank Alpha Vulcus for taking the initiative to deliver his message in a smart and respectful way!
  20. May not be my department but I assume so - it's a small map so I'll try and get the guys to put it up for download on the forums when we're ready for the switch. @itsmyworld66: Unfortunately you will lose your items and your books but you can save images of your books to recreate them later on if you'd like - sorry !
  21. Just to be clear, 3.5 will be up again before we switch to this new temp map. (As soon as someone who can bring it up is online)
  22. Hey there LoTC, [snip] There's a very good chance that we'll be moving to 2nd (and final) temp map before 4.0. (Most likely the end of this coming week, either thursday, friday or saturday.) It will be Minecraft Generated, mostly free-build aside from around spawn and will have nearly all of the 4.0 plugins on it for all of you to put to the test. Thanks for reading (p.s) Thank Alpha Vulcus for making that thoughtful and informative map-switch poll/thread! Edit: Server is up.
  23. After Alpha Vulcus's thread this came to be, http://i.imgur.com/cQ2wBeC.png - hopefully we can get this going as soon as I can wrangle some tech's together

Hey shift, make it on the trip from Asulon to Anthos this time.

  24. Hey so I'm sure you guys have been keeping up with, http://www.lordofthecraft.net/topic/112835-proposal-switch-to-an-old-map-solutions-for-the-fringe-til-40/ There's a lot strong opinions that seem to suggest fringe is quite a dull place and I think we can remedy that while also giving us some cushion. Those of you who are more directly in-contact with the players or in-game to see this stuff going on, does the following idea sound like a good idea to you? 1) We move to a MC generated (Large biomes?) map, build a temple, a kings road and a Portal to 4.0 off deep in the wilderness. 2) Move over a few of the new plugins (Crafting, Region Claim, Professions?) 3) Move to this map with an event in the Fringe. This will allow us to test new plugins before 4.0, buy us some time in finishing the map and show the players we're one step closer to moving to it. Thanks for reading!
  25. Yeah, when I talked to Telanir last he preferred waiting to put the magic plugin on a couple weeks or so after the launch of the new map - so that's something that may very well happen.
