I'm all for a map swap if it means the 4.0 wait will be a little easier to stomach, I'm waiting to hear back from Tythus on skype (If I was able swap out the maps i would do it in a heartbeat.) As soon as I hear back from him we'll have this sorted and hopefully be movin' to a new place to call home for time being. (I was thinking, a minecraft generated world where our quest is to find the portal that takes us to the land of our ancestors. **4.0**)

Because it's important that the fundamental plugins (Crafting, Professions & Region-Claim) are explained on how to use them and why we chose them - otherwise we'll most likely end up in a lot of chaos on first few weeks. (I'm also finishing up the region grid - as we speak..) @Snoop: Because everyone is a volunteer and some of these guys can't be here all the time. I'm sorry about the wait but, there is one - I already suffer IRL because I spend so much time on LoTC, you don't gotta beat me down here too!

Nay, I said "take time to get used to" they have interfaces or features to them that are not vanilla - when explained well, they will be easy to wrap your head around and use. As for his previous videos, those were more development oriented and far too lengthy to be used as a kind of "guide". Once he gets back, we'll make these videos in an afternoon and they'll only be a few minutes long - then we'll be just about ready to go.

One of the more important, unfinished things at this moment for 4.0 is making videos for the new plugins, these new plugins require some getting used to and the last thing we want to do is have you guys figuring them out during the whirlwind of the first few days/weeks. We've gotta wait for Telanir to get back from Panama so we can make quick videos on how to use them and make sure they're finalized. Probably our biggest goal is just to make sure it all goes smoothly. @snoop "Now this bomb is dropped on us." What bomb do you speak of..?

It's not just a build, the build is pretty much done. It's important we have videos explaining the plugins and a theatrical video go along side the switch. Once Telanir is back from Panama, I can make the videos with him we just don't want to release it before we have these important things - I'm sorry your hype died off, hopefully it returns. There was 120 people on yesterday, doesn't seem dire enough to force a rushed rrelease (like we've done every other time before, with not-so-great results!) You can either wait patiently and politely, help out or bugger off !

Definitely not, we've always said we'll take as long as necessary in-order to not release something that isn't done!

These forums have been in a slump for years, many of these banned players have been involved in keeping this slump a slump and I want sunshine and rainbows again. These aren't new players, these are people have been around awhile and should know better - they've all been given the opportunity to appeal via the admin email it's up to them to do so. We have reiterated on how we feel about people being disrespectful or disruptive many, many times and we shouldn't be held accountable for them and their "contributions". Anyway, here's to hoping they prove me and everyone else otherwise. locked

You don't have to use it if you don't want to, but using Gamevox definitely has it's advantages and we'll continue to use it (even if just for staff.)

Hello again LoTC! I'm back for a fourth update, to help keep you updated on the new map and ready for what's to come. As you may be able to tell, the build-phase is just about complete (95%) and I'm really excited (and relieved) to be on the final stretch of creating this new map. Over the next week or so we will be, 1) finishing up the region grid that will blanket the mainland. (Fear not, there will be plenty of free-build and land to claim.) 2) Completing the Tutorial area with the help of a few dedicated players. (They've already begun!) 3) Creating videos for each of the new plugins (Professions, Region-Claim & Crafting.) 4) Inviting the Media Team to create animations, renders and videos to promote the new map and server changes. 5) Creating a GM tutorial island to help new AND old GM's get into the swing of things and make the most of their position. The 4.0 whitelist reached nearly 100 players and A LOT of work has gone into the map. I'm certain that you and your friend's characters will come across new and enchanting things whenever you choose to take the road less traveled for years to come. However, this world is not finished - not even close. The real color and life comes from you and I can't wait to see what everyone adds to it through-out the time we spend on it (hopefully for much, much longer than previous maps.) We're nearing the end, and I don't want to post a release date until we've knocked out some of the things listed above but I can definitely say that it will be no later than July. (Early July too I'd wager!) We will also be celebrating our THIRD year as a minecraft server and community this weekend with livestreams and other goofy things so be on the lookout for more info on this in the next few days. I want to take the time to thank everyone who has spent time on the dev server helping us see this through, creating ANYTHING with a huge group of people is no easy task and I'm very proud of this map and everything that has gone into it. Next time I make a news post, there'll be videos that explain the fundamental features involved with this map. (Within the week or so! "Regions, Crafting & Professions.")
