Anyone fancy informing me what teh **** geostationary orbit is?
Aren Whitestorm
It's an orbit on height of about ~36,000km. Objects on this orbit have orbital period equal to Earth's rotation period. Basically, object appears to be in the same spot, when looked at from Earth.
Fid
Tyber is correct. GPS sattelites are a good example of sattelites in geostationary orbit.
Volutional
Simple; Geo/global, stationary/relatively in the same position, orbit/meaning it moves around a mass.
