Both his father and grandfather competed in it on many occaisions and each completing it each time. This is how his family gained their wealth. It is as if his family was gifted the ability to be incredibly agile and nimble, and that would explain their ability to complete the Gauntlet this often. Naturally, coming from this background, Cealik had been around the idea of being agile from a young age, and he was trained very often in how to replicate his father and grandfather's techinique, training him up to one day take on his father's mantle and complete the gauntlet. Agility is not his only skill, in his part time, his father acts as a sentury for the Laurelin City, an archer to be precise, as the Wood Elves are well known for their skills with a bow. And so, over the years, Caelik learned from his father the use of a bow, and how to be a crack shot with it. Caelik did once try his hand with a sword but, being a Wood Elf, his size let him down as he could barely swing the sword. He is fairly handy with a knife though, so if time calls for it, he uses that in close quarters. Caelik spends a lot of his spare time in the forest, with his bow, practising his shot on animals lurking in the shadows. He uses this time to hunt for animals and then takes the meat either home to his family or sells it on to local butchers, and he has developed quite a name for himself within the butcher's of the city for his skill of providing deliveries of meat. He has also developed a reputation with the younger women of Laurelin as being quite a charmer, and fairly good looking, he enjoys female company and flirting with girls. Ambitions for the Future: To complete the Laurelin Gaunlet and become a Sentinal like his father. Personality: Fairly calm and collected, although people find it hard to read what he is thinking. Upon inspection you realize that a group of older elves are mocking a small elven child. How do you react?[/b] Answer: Caelik spots some older elves mocking a younger one, and so he decides to move in closer to try and understand what is happening. He jumps from tree to tree, almost like a cat, and sits in the tree above the older elves. He listens in on the conversation and hears, "You aren't a real wood elf, you have brown hair" "I am, my mother says it comes from my father's side" "Well your mother is a liar, you are adopted" Caelik decides that it is unfair for the older elves to make fun of this young child, and make him believe something hurtful which is not true, so he hatches a plan. He jumps into another tree where he can get a better view and decides to scare the older elves off. He reaches for his bow and notches an arrow. He aims just above the head of the leader of the group and lets loose the arrow. The arrow flies to it's destined target and lands, with a thud, in the bark of the tree just above the head of the leader. The leader is petrified by this and quickly calls to his gang, "Come one guys, it isn't safe 'round here, lets go" Happy with his work Caelik jumps down from his tree and checks if the child is ok, and takes him home to his mother. [b]2. Whilst wandering through the Elven forests you come across a frail old man with a walking stick. He collapses in front of you, falling to the ground with a sharp thud. Out of his pocket falls a small pouch of gold coins, which hits the ground and splits open spreading coins across the pathway. The man lies there, defenseless - what do you do?[/b] Answer: Caelik saw the old man collapse, and immediately dashed to his side, the sound of his fall making Caelik wince, it sounded as if he had broken something. He saw the money pouch fall out of the man's pocket and estimated there to be around 200 Minas in there, enough to buy a new bow, Caelik considered. He quickly banashed this thought, he wasn't like that. He proceeded to place the money pouch back into the man's pocket. Caelik checked the man's wounds and found that his arm was, in fact, broken. Caelik had to get the man to a healer, and fast, who knows how the man would respond to his wounds, being old and frail. Caelik quickly carried the man back to his home, it was a struggle for Caelik, as he isn't the strongest elf around, but he managed it, the old man was quite light. Caelik and his mother then took the man to one of her friends, a healer within Laurelis who owed Caelik's mother a favour and so they managed to get the treatment for free. The man awoke a few days later, feeling a little dazed, but overall he was going to be alright. [b]3. Whilst traversing the Elven Woodlands, you come across a small clearing in which a colored carriage sits. A trader stands outside of it and calls you over, telling you of his wares. He points out that his carriage sells just about everything, and that he's willing for you to haggle for a price. What does your character do? Answer: Caelik rushed over to the trader, his eyes quickly eyeing up what the man had to offer, Caelik needed a new hunting knife, his old one was a little worse for wear from years of hunting. He had 100 Minas spare in his pocket and was looking for a good quality knife. He stolled over to the merchant and enquired, "What do you have in the way of knives?", the merchant replied with, "What kind of knife you looking for son?" "A good quality hunting blade, something I can skin animals with, and maybe use to defend myself should a bear come near" "How about this?", Caelik's eyes lit up, the man had produced the most beautiful knife Caelik had ever laid eyes upon, a curved blade, with a green hue to it, clearly of elven make. The handle looked comfortable to hold and the whole blade itself looked very balanced. "How much?" Caelik dared to ask. "It'll set you back 135 Minas" Caelik swore under his breath. "What's up? Not got enough?" The merchant enquired. "Yes" Cealik sighed. "I'll do you a deal, 110 Minas" the merchant offered. "How about make it 100?" Caelik offered, he really wanted the blade. "I wouldn't normally go so low..." "100" Caelik cut in "Fine, 100 it is, only because I saw how you eyes lit up when I showed you the blade. Here, take it" He handed Caelik the knife, along with a scabbard for it to be held in. "Now you take care of this blade, it is fine one, I hope it serves you well" And with that Caelik scampered off elated by the bargain he just picked up, he wanted to try it out as soon as possible.

(note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): Caelik (meaning archer and arrow) is an Elf who was abandoned by his parents at birth, his father and mother both elves who had been banished from their elven colony. They stole what food they needed and felt they could not support a third mouth and so they left him alone in the woods – a mere child. Miraculously Caelik survived his infant years and at the age of 4 was taken in by a band of Elves he came across while exploring the woodlands – they took him in and he saw them as his new family as he grew. They taught him how to wield a bow and he has an excellent control over the art of archery. They also taught him tactics to survive when in the wild (although he had picked quite a lot up already). These combinations of abilities allowed him to become an incredibly talented hunter, and has allowed him to master the art of stealth too. His hunter “parents” decided to give him the name Caelik because of his elven heritage and also because of him being very adept with a bow. He stayed with the hunting clan and hunted with them for many years, until his twentieth birthday. At this point he decided that it was his time to explore the world of Asulon, however he goes back to see his family every couple of months and always brings them a gift from the afar regions of Asulon. He is 24 and has blue eyes. No one really knows what he looks like because he always wears a hood which covers a large proportion of his face. He is kind and caring, but is also hard and ruthless at times. However, he has numerous weaknesses. One being if reminded of his parent’s and how they abandoned him, he descends into a burning rage, in which he will lash out at anything or anyone who angers him. This stays with him for a number of hours. He is also very susceptible to having a good time and enjoying himself. However a long night of partying and alcohol takes its toll, and he wakes up with an unnaturally bad hangover (worse than any normal person’s). Open-Response-Questions Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? Caelik walks over to the scene, “What’s happened?” he asked. One of the armed men responds, “This Halfling stole some money off me!” “Did you steal some money?” Caelik queries the Halfling. The Halfling responds, rather truthfully, “Yes I did.” “Well rather than harassing him, why not get the law involved so he can be dealt with appropriately?” Caelik asked the warriors. Caelik then runs over to find the nearest guard while the warriors keep the Halfling close until the guard comes. Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? Caelik sauntered casually up to the merchants stall. “Would you happen to have any arrows I could purchase?” he enquired. The merchant responded with, “As a matter of fact I do” as he pulled a bulging quiver of sharp arrows from under his stall, “500 minas”. Caelik scowled, “I don’t have that much. Would I be able to take the price down to 300?” “That’s a tough one,” the merchant replied, “do you have any items you would be willing to trade as well as the money?” Caelik offered up a golden candlestick he had come across on the road. “Perfect”, the merchant grinned and handed over the arrows. Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: Stumbling across the house, Caelik went in. He came across a chest brimming with iron and a golden sword. However, checking the other rooms, he realised that there appeared to be a person living in the building. Realising this, he quickly made his escape from the way he came before the person reappeared. Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? If you catch something for every night you stay, it’s a deal.” You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. I like the idea of joining a community and faction on Minecraft. How much time could you be on the server weekly?: 5 hours usually, maybe a little more or less depending on how busy I am. This allows players to interact differently with one another than they may in real life and also immerse them self in the game making it as real an experience as they can. What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: I have played on other Minecraft Roleplaying servers. I also play World of Warcraft. In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: In simple terms - being a “good roleplayer”. You only use what knowledge you can gain from the game and your character has no other sources of information from outside the parameters of the game. Also your character is not too overpowered. In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is: This is when a person tries to be “god like”. They say their character has no flaws and is, in effect, indestructible. What do you expect this server will be like?: I expect this server will be well run, fun but also have strict roleplaying rules to make it a better experience. What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I have played on Massivecraft and left it because all my friends stopped playing on the server. If so could you link us to your last Application?: Yes, but it was about 2 months ago and now I am unable to reach it using the link. In-Character: Character Name: Caelik What Race are you?: Elf What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): Caelik (meaning archer and arrow) is an Elf who was abandoned by his parents at birth, his father and mother both elves who had been banished from their elven colony. They stole what food they needed and felt they could not support a third mouth and so they left him alone in the woods – a mere child. Miraculously Caelik survived his infant years and at the age of 4 was taken in by a band of Elves he came across while exploring the woodlands – they took him in and he saw them as his new family as he grew. They taught him how to wield a bow and he has an excellent control over the art of archery. They also taught him tactics to survive when in the wild (although he had picked quite a lot up already). These combinations of abilities allowed him to become an incredibly talented hunter, and has allowed him to master the art of stealth too. His hunter “parents” decided to give him the name Caelik because of his elven heritage and also because of him being very adept with a bow. He stayed with the hunting clan and hunted with them for many years, until his twentieth birthday. At this point he decided that it was his time to explore the world of Asulon, however he goes back to see his family every couple of months and always brings them a gift from the afar regions of Asulon. He is 24 and has blue eyes. No one really knows what he looks like because he always wears a hood which covers a large proportion of his face. He is kind and caring, but is also hard and ruthless at times. However, he has numerous weaknesses. One being if reminded of his parent’s and how they abandoned him, he descends into a burning rage, in which he will lash out at anything or anyone who angers him. This stays with him for a number of hours. He is also very susceptible to having a good time and enjoying himself. However a long night of partying and alcohol takes its toll, and he wakes up with an unnaturally bad hangover (worse than any normal person’s). He also finds it hard to understand the use of a sword and isn’t very skilled in this ability. What is your Character's ambitions?: To set up his own Elf colony and take revenge on his parent's clan. Open-Response-Questions Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? Walks over and asks the two men what the problem is. If they were to respond with a reason such as that the Halfling has committed a crime then Caelik would suggest that, rather than harassing the Halfling themselves, that they should get the law enforcement involved so it can be sorted out properly. However if the two armed warriors could give no valid reason Caelik would barge into both men, allowing enough time for the Halfling to escape, and in the confusion he would be able to use a sleeper hold that his father taught him and consequently knock the attackers unconscious. Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? He would ask whether the man was selling any quality bow strings or arrows. Also he would enquire about a simple brown leather hunting jacket, sturdy yet light. Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: He would make sure that the house was definitely empty and had not been lived in for some time, and if it had he would take some of the iron bars – however he would leave the sword, it would be of no use to him. Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? Approach them with no weapons drawn, so as to show he meant no harm. He would then ask them politely whether he could stay with them for a few nights, and to possibly be fed. If they agreed he would offer to repay them with labour or to return the food he consumed by hunting some animals when he had got his strength back. You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: He instantly would go and sign up to help, he knew what bandits were like (from previous experience) and thought that it was not fair that they should steal people’s hard earned belongings and so they needed to be sorted out by the law.
