what does nonbinary even mean. like, what is someone that's nonbinary. you can't /identify/ as nonbinary if you were already born a boy or girl, right? someone from the LGBTQQIAAP educate me

Binary means a double choise. Means X or Y. Means 1 or 0, means two choises for one thing. Normally, in the case your talking about, it's about 'gender.' In my country, there is nothing else besides male and female because gender means sex (except the cases where someone is both male and female at the same time due to problems before birth), but in America gender and sex is different it seems. So they speak about nonbinary as in "I'm not a male or female, I'm something...

Speaking from one common standpoint throughout the LGBTQ+ community, gender isn't just black and white (or X and Y ^), but instead a spectrum. If you consider yourself nonbinary, or androgynous, or anything else, you'd be on the spectrum instead of X/Y. Being born biologically male or female doesn't mean you have to identify that way-- plenty of people are trans/nonbinary/whatever else! Genitalia doesn't decide identity in all cases. c:
