  1. http://www.lordofthecraft.net/topic/114340-lost/ I'll be gone for about a week, don't all die or something while i'm gone.
  2. I agree with Lago mostly, though have nothing strongly against the idea. I believe that this type of Event Roleplay is excellent and diverse, and that it is important that it becomes more common in every playerbase, not just the Orcs'. However, performing a series of events that will run on for a while that use Shamanism as a base and 'excludes' Orcs would hold us from a great deal of quality roleplay that we desperately need at the moment. Simply having a lone man, probably played by an ET member, handling these events by himself is a massive waste of the opportunities this type of roleplay can bring for normal players. Additionally, as Lago outlined, having a player, knowledgeable staff member or not, using Shamanism that isn't monitored could bring forth a plethora of complications and conundrums that would best be avoided. Don't take this to be a selfish request, however- quite the opposite, in fact! Even though the Orcs need this type of roleplay, keeping it from everybody else would be extremely detrimental to our race anyway, as we'd become secluded, cut off, and generally a playerbase living off events that won't last and will get boring quickly. Instead, I believe that the best way to do this is to indeed have these events open to all races, but to somehow directly incorporate the Orcs into it so they don't miss out. With the public release of the new Farseer Shamanism lore, a few changes to the current Farseer Shamans, and a few other surprises our current Head Shaman has whipped up, within the next few weeks I can guarantee that we'll see a massive increase in the 'Spirit Realm Blanace' type of roleplay for everyone which should help to maintain the Orc's playerbase's members for a long while to come. Sorry if something's not worded out right, or I didn't explain myself quite right. It's pretty late for me, so i'll get some sleep and sort anything out in the morning.
  3. Apologies if this has already been said, since I haven't read all of the five pages of comments, but while using this magic and taking 'mana' from the blood from another (Should the caster be past Tier Three), wouldn't the person who's blood is being used be prevented from using magic, since they would lack the required mana? Apart from that, I like the lore! Great job writing it, and i'd love to see where it could go being brought into the server again.
  4. Finally finished the Farseer Lore! *party*

  5. Zawabate's not currently used in the Alchemy Plugin we have here on LotC, and as such doesn't technically have an 'item'. However, using a yellow coloured flower as a representation should do for any roleplay that involves the plant. Also- by Shaman, do you mean your character is currently being taught the magic, or that he or she is simply an Orc interested in the more herb/healing part of the culture? I only ask since you're a relatively new player, and there's a chance that you're using the magic without being taught by one of our current shamans- Which is an important thing, as Shamanism is a complicated magic and is locked (restricted to all players unless directly accepted by the other Shamans) to prevent people from using it who don't fully understand it. If so, and you're still interested in learning Shamanism, i'd definitely recommend sending a message to Catarrh, the current High Shaman, who knows a lot more about the magic than me and can fill you in on how you should proceed.
  6. Will there be any plans on introducing Thanhium into the Fringe? Currently, i'm not aware of any snowy areas of except for the far Western tundra at the edge of the map. Will we have to wait until 4.0 before we can see the Ore being used again, or will it be found in such locations in future events?
  7. BRISINGR!!! Anyway, nice idea. It'll be interesting to see how, or if, this turns out.

Do you get similar blue links and/or popups on other sites? If so, it's probably a virus on Firefox. I have the same thing. Try googling different combinations to see if you can find a solution.

  15. Some plants from Redbench's alchemy plants lore. Should be good to include, a few nice additions. http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/81776-lore-alchemy-regents-and-new-potions-for-30anthos/ You're also missing quite a few liquids NRP is made by... Ah, what the heck, i'll leave it as a surprise. Good luck :D
  16. Thurak frowns as he notices one of the posters situated outside of the new Orcish city of Gronkkston, reading over it carefully with what tattered knowledge of common writing he has. He takes an application form, slowly and carefully filling it out before placing it on the wall next to the original parchment. He glances around him once, almost casually, before grabbing the advertising parchment, scrunching it up, and tossing it into a nearby brazier. Thurak's hereditary purple eyes pulsate strangely, the scarred features of his face illuminating for but a moment before the night engulfs them once more, the light dying as quickly as it came. He walks away, leaving the small note pinned alone on the cracked brick wall.

  18. ((I don't believe golden weaponry does any more damage to the Antagonists than normal weaponry does. That being said, normal weaponry can still do a great amount of damage to an Antagonist, and they are usually not much stronger than normal warriors, and most of the time, quite the opposite. Though I do enjoy seeing rumors spread about the Antagonists, ic and ooc, it is important for people to know this one is not true, to prevent powergaming against the Antagonist forces. Again, golden weaponry makes no difference in a fight against the Antagonists.))
  19. Thank you for your imput! However: Despite what most people may think, Orcs are not supid. They may migrate more to violence to solve their problems, be rash, stubborn and thickheaded, but Orcs have the capability to be as smart as any other member of any other race. The mindset of most Orcs, however, prevent attributes such as what some may consider 'smart' to be shown. Yes, maybe Orcs cannot write great novels or make brilliant inventions as the humans can, create amazing architextural feats like the dwarves, or be as knowledgable in the ways of the forests as the elves, but they are in fact intelligent in their own ways. They can be described as wise, strategic, and show a great promise to be able to learn. Learning, not the ability to show what you have learnt, is what I believe is the true definition of intelligence. I fear I have gone off topic, however, so I will summerize. Braduk was a wise and inventive chieftain, making many intelligent decisions for his clan despite his need for vengance and retribution. I belive that it is indeed possible Braduk would have thought that the rhinos could be used for mounts, and indeed perhaps with the help of the Goblins in kenuk, he could have come up with the idea of selective breeding. The reason I made the Braduk Rhinos become so big so quickly was due to previous lore being written involving the rhinos. Already I have extended the time by one hunded years compared to the previous lore, and by doing so have created conflict in already existing lore involving the Braduks. By making the time of selective breeding smaller, I had hoped to prevent further clashes with lore on the Braduks. I will, however, at your request, change the time that it took for the rhinos to grow to their current size. Additionally- About the Rhinos being available to other races. Currently, the only Braduk rhinos in Anthos are in the possession of the Braduk clan, the original beasts being in a land far away; Braduk Rhinos only existing here due to migration with the Braduk clan. If the Braduk clan was to fall however, or a few are stolen, yes, it is possible for other races to breed and have access to the Braduk Rhinos. But- I would much rather this wouldn't happen. Braduk Rhinos are supposed to be restricted beasts, being hard to breed, tame and control, even for the Braduks. Having every third person (hyperbole) riding around on giant rhinos isn't exactly what I would like to release upon Anthos, and such I have made the animals hard to spread and more of a nuisance to breed than what they are worth. I plan on making a thread in the Orcish Badlands Roleplay section where people can apply for a Braduk Rhino, given enough sceenshots of training and such, just to control how many people can have them. It will be a system close to what is used in Magic, and each member will be carefully watched by myself and other responsible people. Thank you for your questions, and your contribution to the Braduk Rhino lore.
  20. Thank you for bringing this up! Well, the Braduk Rhinos weren't actually native to the desert. As stated in the recount, Braduk found these animals roaming a mountain pass. Upon moving them to the desert for breeding, they were kept in caves surrounding the fort to keep them at a suitable temperature until eventually they adapted to the temperature outside. Big ears though! That would make sense for a desert rhino, and i'll add it to the lore. It was said that the Braduk clan had an extremely hard time using selective breeding to create the animals as they are today. Smaller rhinos were more common than large ones, and were usually killed for meat rather than be used for breeding. The Orcs of Braduk were in a constant battle against the harsh desert, so to speak, as it was continuously pushing the progress of breeding the rhinos to size backwards.
