It was a sunny day in Athera. Mirko Vojovic, a proud man of Raev, skipped into the secluded, peaceful town of the Wood Elves after distributing free bread to strangers on the main road. He had been visiting this town since its establishment to see the progress of its construction, which he took an interest in as Minister of Construction of Akovia. However, this lad of Raevir descent was met with suspicion and fear from the elfskis because he spoke differently. Mere minutes after entering the town, Mirko was captured by armed guards and taken to prison on false charges of assault! The alleged victim entered the jail to identify his attacker from a lineup of three suspects including Mirko, but of course when he failed to do so, the immediate reaction of the guardsmen was to blame the Raevir! After begging and pleading with his captors for the opportunity to send for an alibi to vouch for him (something any just nation would instantly do), Mirko was finally granted his wish and sent for the gallant army of Akovia to free him from this elven oppression.
At the end of the day no blood was spilt, but deep wounds were inflicted on the Raevir people as a whole. When little Vyacheslav of Karovia goes to sleep at night, he will know that all of Athera looks down on him and sees him as less than human. Svetlana the little ballerina cries every day because no one outside of her small town will ever value her dancing. As you can see, the effects of racial profiling toward the Raevir people are devastating. Next time you see a friendly man of Raev visiting your neighborhood, show him kindness and empathy instead of iron bars and the blade. Raevir lives matter.
