  2. "Just a month left until the end" -A spirit in his dream would state
  3. Conrad Roswell, leader of house Roswell laughs Just because I am allowed back to your lands doesn't mean I swear under ye. For I am loyal to our emporer already. Sets the letter down in his house in Lorraine with a smile.
  4. Conrad smiles noticing the light one down on courland once again
  5. - The Roswell Pledge - Conrad's fire in the woods, 15th of snow's maiden 1612 Conrad Roswell sits by the fire in the woods of Lorraine as he picks up his armor piece by piece getting it ready for his only option, his eyes are a mirror image of the fire in which he looks into. He looks at the armor which is laid down in front of him as he draws his axe looking it over before he does what he promised. He then takes out the last of his paper and a quill and begins to write... The letter read: No news has come to me from the Kingdom of Courland, so i am now forced to do as i said, I was hoping to never have to do this, but sadly i must. The Kingdom of Courland has not laid down its arms and neither has the rebellion. I will stay true to my word and do as i said i would, House Roswell must go to war however, I do not intend to go to war as the two sides are today… Conrad picks up his axe an hesitates for a brief moment before throwing it into the fire, he then picks up the armor piece by piece and continues to throw them into the fire. Humanity has been separated ever since the beginning, every man and women identifying itself under its kingdom rather than its race. Never has humanity seen peace within it’s own walls and I find this to be heartbreaking. I Conrad Roswell declare a challenge for all of humanity, a way to solve our problems without our fists. Men, women and children have always found it easier to use their fists instead of their mouth. They have always shown force as the primary response to any problem. When the creator put us in this world do you truly believe he put us here to smash our own race into the ground, or to slam our axe into each other's skulls? This question should never need to exist, the answer is before our eyes… the answer is no. Men have lost their lives to many times to such actions, women being left at home with no way to put enough food on the table to feed for their children. That is the case for the lucky, for the winners. The side of the fallen is much different, the fallen lose their homes, their children or even their own lives. This is tolerated out of the ways that we have come to know so well. I and many others know that it is time for a change, lay down your arms and pick up a quill, put down your fists and use your heart, and your mind. I have seen so much destruction within the human race and I know this destruction can be fixed if we try. I call on every man, woman and child for one last hope in unity, in peace… I call on all of you to put the name of your kingdom aside and put your identity as a human above it for a moment. No matter what kingdom you are under, no matter how much mina you have, no matter your current opinions war only leads to more destruction and chaos. I challenge all of humanity to join together and pledge for peace not war, that be the battle that I fight here today. By signing this pledge you promise to lay down your weapons and use diplomacy to solve your problems, to use your heart even when facing your darkest enemy… I _____ Pledge to serve humanity in an effort to repair relationships and to put down my weapons, to unite under my race and not my kingdom. I pledge to use my words as a tool to save our race, not destroy it. I pledge to walk this world in peace, not in hostility. Signed, Conrad Roswell Magnate of Vallendar Anguinatus of the Anguine Legion
  6. This coming from a man who had relations with a nun, very honorable man...Very loyal to his wife infact...
  7. - The Parting of Trust - Empty streets of Krakow, The Amber Cold 1611 The clouds begin to part as Conrad Roswell steps into a small village he use to know so well. His heart torn between the friends in Courland he has made over the few years that he had lived in the land and also with the future and the well being of his people. A piece of paper is all that floats the streets of krakow, as Conrad looks over the paper he sees that the Kingdom of Lorraine has now joined this rebellion. That is when the weight had been lifted with his memories of his recent past and on to the future. Conrad then takes out some paper and a quill as he reflects on his thoughts making sure this is what he wants, he sets the paper down on the log on which he was sitting and let out a sigh, “As times come dark a light must shine, that light has never been brighter.” He then takes the quill off of the log and begins to write… The Letter Read: With the death of King Tobias has come a great darkness over the lands of Courland, King Joseph Alexander has brought so much sadness to me and my family. For not only did he remove the regents put in place as I have made this journey, but he has also evicted my family and I from our house in Alexandria that i must say was being kept up well and all taxes paid. An unlikely ally had emerged after I had stepped foot on the road, this ally has proven to me that they are people of a good cause. House Ruthern has done many things for this once great kingdom as well. But King Joseph Alexander has failed to realize such acts of kindness and loyalty. Not only has King Joseph refused to acknowledge such good men, he has done something that cannot be forgiven… Conrad takes a long breath as he tries to calm himself down realizing that the future will shine a better light to the lands. King Joseph has killed only a mere child, one child that was far too young to be guilty of any crimes. For this occurrence I Conrad Roswell declares the men and women of Vallendar and loyal followers to no longer be vassals under the corrupt Kingdom of Courland, If the Kingdom of Courland continues to fight the men and women of House Ruthern we won't hesitate to join into this war and end such corruption. Signed, Conrad Roswell, Magnate of Vallendar, and Anguinatus of the Anguine Legion
  8. Smiles as he reads the paper these men are no danger to us, for they have only spoken the truth. As he finishes talking to his guards he turns around in his path as he heads back to Istria ~Conrad Roswell~
  9. Conrad Roswell looks over what has happened with anger growing inside of him This is false, for I did not leave Istria to this man. There be a council of Regents controlling the land...not this false leadership. That bird was sent to many more than just Edward, many more. Conrad Roswell says to his guards just in time to stop him from leaving istria, in order to fix this mistake.
  10. - Pasnian Migration of 1596 - Pasnian Men and Women going to their new home Conrad shuts the heavy oaken doors, enlaced with thick iron braces and an almost faded brass lock. In days of old, the very doors he nonchalantly shuts stood against the shoulders of many an intruder. Now those days were past, locked away inside the memory of Conrad and his people. As the rasp of the wood battling against the stone floor came to an end, and the iron lever slid into the lock, the thud of the door filled the room, until it was entirely silent. The room was empty, secluded, devoid of not just sound, but conflict. Conrad himself liked it this way. This way he was detached from the many troubles that plague the land of Axios and those who tread upon it, this way he was not Oren or Pasnia. This way, he was merely Conrad, his own entity, alone. A heavy, yet relieved sigh met the end of the echoing thud, before he trudged toward his chair. A slow sit, then a reclined souch shortly followed, before he slid his hand below the side of his desk, pulling a drawer, and retrieving his treaty-making equipment. The parchment was laid, the ink was set. As he found the quill, he noticed how worn it had been. The very same quill that served Conrad’s time as a noble had never been so worn as it was now. The decay of it was almost exponential, Conrad would remark. Times were indeed troubling. Leagues were formed, then dissolved. Treaties signed, then torn. Perhaps it wasn’t just Conrad’s quill that had worn so rapidly these days. As the man began carefully and intricately etching each proposal, statement, and diplomatically concocted act of flattery, the memories would flood his mind. The memories of years spent on the castle balcony, overlooking the land he once called his own. The health of the good people of Pasnia, the succulent taste of the first bite into the apples grown on his lands. The melody of the local bard’s lute, the laughter amongst the streets of his lands. In another world, it might’ve still been his home. Then came the memory of the treaty he signed, the ink that donned the very quill his careful hand swished about now, the indents created on the stretched sheepskin canvas. The same treaty that marked the end of Pasnia in this world forever, at least as the populated land it once was. His people became nomads until then, bending to most of the rising, and then falling lieges. Migrating and fleeting alongside the power of other momentary nobles and Kingdoms. The Lotharingian coins they carried with them were perhaps the only constant of those days. Now with the assured permanency of the Staunton leadership, having stood inside its walls for so long, Conrad and his advisors shifted their gaze to the Courland Kingdom. Observing the honour, well treatment to vassals, and protection Courland offered, discussions were held. Nights spent in halls drinking and debating, serenading, and a few times even roaring, conclusions were met. These conclusions Conrad now immortalized into the short piece of information he wrote on. The Ruskan approach to Courland was nothing but a positive argument to his case. The well treatment they received, and the help they were given, merely added to the Staunton reputation of honour. Conrad firmly planted the dot at the end of the letter, signing the bottom, and rolling it up. Another relieved sigh followed, but this time followed by a small smile. Perhaps the Pasnians might find another place to rebuild, and continue their history. But these lands weren’t, and could never be Pasnia. They were not Oren, who could carry the name wherever they went. His people needed a new name. Conrad took a brief moment to ponder what it might be, before the train of memory-laced thought that nostalgically carried him through the letter before returned. Conrad needed a name befitting of his history and the distant past, to rebuild what only now exists in memories. “Istria.” he’d mutter under his breath, as his hand would grasp at the door’s handle, pulling it. Allowing the outside world to encompass him once more, and for Conrad to stop being an individual, and become Istria. The letter read: “Dear noble King Joseph Alexander. I, Conrad Roswell, Count of Istria, solemnly swear to serve under the glorious nation of Courland, and the honourable House Staunton. We swear to fight in thick and thin, and serve the interests of our Staunton lieges. We humbly request for a land to house our Pasnian peoples in by the wise Ruskan Archduke, under the name of ‘Istria’. We promise to serve for as long as we stand, bound by oath and honour. We promise to fight until GOD himself tears us from the world, and our very beings are scattered. Ave Courlandia. - Count Conrad Roswell. -”
  11. As Valentyn hears the news he remembers everything the great king had done for him King Tobias was more than just a king, he was a friend, an inspiration, a hero. Without that great man I would be dead, we would be in danger if that man were to never walk this world. I know Courland will survive without our king, but it be time to ask yourself...will we forget him? I know my answer brothers, do ye know yours? Goes back to praying in the mountains in which he has been hiding himself for years, but now something has changed.
  12. Princeps Valentyn hears the news and smiles as he looks at the constant doubt that came with The True Faith emerging They doubted everything from us, our success, our passion, our lives. The tables have turned from being the schism faith to now being able to prove that we are the one true faith. This man was a simple mislead man, for I gave him the chance to come to the light, but he chose to side with heretics. Princeps Valentyn would then say a simple prayer to have mercy on the mislead man
  13. Duke and Acolyte Conrad Roswell smiles while reading over the letter "Allow me to add one more reason Courland be the best kingdom."
  14. For Haense has crossed a line that will lead them to their end, an end that has been long overdue. Conrad Roswell proclaims while forming a C over his heart.
  15. Conrad Roswell nods in agreement The Church of the Canon is the last thing left of Oren, therefore it needs to fall!
  16. Pledge to the True Faith The Holy Lotharic Communion, it’s Princeps and it’s Holy Synod, beseech all princes of the faith of which have been accepted into the bosom of the Canonist faith to renounce said heretical belief, to cast aside their imperial shackles and to be freed by the truth of God himself and His holy Godhead. We invoke your right, as true believers, to pledge your true allegiance to God and His church and to persecute all heretics from your lands. Be you Baron, Count, Duke, Archduke or King all are equal before the tremendous majesty of God thus it’s everyone’s sacred duty to be in full communion with His church, thus, we hope with a true heart that all nobles sign this and henceforth accept the Lotharic Communion as the true faith. “I _______ with a true and contrite heart, ask for God’s forgiveness in the errors of my ways and accept the True Faith of God. I accept the real teaching on Predestination, Exalted Sucession, Horenic Exalted Supremacy and Pontifical Infallibility. With this oath I accept the orthodox views of the true Communion until the day of my death.”

  20. The Lotharic Church In the fifteen hundred and ninety third year of God, Our Most Beloved and Venerated Savior, the Cathedra of the Holy Mother Church of Lorraine has been established to restore the faith of our Holy Scriptures out from the corrupt and degenerate “Canonist” Communion. Section I. Origin- Since the deposition of the rightful Pontiff, Theodosius II, the laity and clergy has been divided. The supporters of the Imperial Pontiff cited the low number of cardinals present in his election, while the supporters of Theodosius cited the lack of priests who had been elevated to the cardinalate by High Pontiff Theodosious II thus making a full college of cardinals impossible. Many priests and high ranking men of the church, not pleased with the deposition by their Imperial Overlords begged for assistance from other secular powers, using the unpopularity of Adrian I outside of the crownlands to establish their presence. The Archduke of Lorraine allowed the disgruntled clerics to assemble in Metz in a council. There they debated the Pontifical Succession and other dogmas held by the Canonist Communion. It was decided that with the deposition of a rightful Pontiff the succession of Owyn was null and void, especially since there were no Cardinals elevated to said position by High Pontiff Theodosius II. It was rightfully decided that Bishops now hold the only episcopal power and thus one of its members is elected as a figure head. With the new found patronage in Lorraine, the newly founded Lotharic Communion of Episcopates commenced it’s Holy and Orthodox operations within the Archduchy, keeping the old rite of the Theodosian mass and reviving the true traditions of the church fathers and the prophets of God.
