  3. AMPHIBIANS AVENGED It was a harrowing sight in Solgaard in the wake of the frog massacre, and unfortunately for the perpetrator there had been a druid lurking just out of sight in the woods. It boggled her mind the sheer disregard for life of a creature with little means to defend itself paired with the overwhelming amount of corpses that littered the riverbed. This measure of cruelty went beyond tormenting one animal, it decimated a whole section of an ecosystem within the encampment. Even with that put aside, there were the cries of the poor amphibians that the Skaði could hear echoing throughout the song cut short by the brutish gnome. -- It was too late for to intervene when she had reached the river, the frogs felled. And so she stalked and schemed like no other. For hours did she toil, staking out the area. Laying in wait as she deduced the burrow, watching from afar like a predator stalking its prey. Her rage at the transgression boiled, threatening to spill over- Yet she had not been able to isolate the gnome to confront him directly. As time past, she was able to temper her anger. There was a lesson to be taught here to more than one. -- And so there were two who descended into the burrow initially; One much smaller than the other, both infiltrating after shifting of the tree. From there, it was a free for all. That within the burrow felt the wrath of the druid and her small accomplice, very few things were safe. Two messages were left for the denizen to read: "Scorn nature again, and it will not be the frogs alone in the ground." And "WE KNOW WHAT YOU'VE DONE." The latter was accompanied with a deceased frog, taken from the early aftermath of the mass amphibian murder. Curiously.. There was a third set of footprints that could be found in the burrow, but with the least amount of tracks. Who could this be? -- Hell hath no fury like a scorned druid, and this was only the beginning.
  4. A figure yet loomed in the tree line, having heard the cries of the slain frogs and the horrid unnatural silence that followed. Howls echoed through the woods. There would be vengeance for the fallen.

  10. I haven't gotten into a scenario that would warrant death, and also, if I died to something ridiculous while in the middle of a magic or otherwise long time investment, I think I would genuinely crash out losing months of work. LOL. There's also a secondary, which I have difficulty sticking to a character; It takes a long time for me to find something I vibe with, so I hesitate greatly to give that up at the risk of me re-entering creative hell. I don't think I wouldn't PK in a public execution though that's kinda bonkers lol.
  11. What kind of player-run events are ones you enjoy? Perusing for some ideas.

  12. I think that warnings/warning posts especially for minor things should not last as long as they do. They all last a year, don't they? Maybe reduce to 6 months?
  13. ______________________________________ A herald pondered upon the events that occurred, licking her wounds in the aftermath of such a scuffle. She wept for the An-Gho and the other Nephilim that had fallen, her thoughts tumbling through the memories of bloodshed and chaos. A small fragment lingered on the child she had struck, and while it were in defense, she hoped that their fire still burned; None should have perished, yet much ichor was spilt. Finally, she questioned the Aengul- Was this truly what mankind regarded as holy and just? Or were this a wolf in sheep's clothing, a devil shrouded by white wings? She sang a solemn song in the towers of Tor'Praeth, echoing through the halls.
  14. @Werew0lfcan you knock on haense's doors next, i think they're cold and need some fire

  15. Added | One must be careful when handling the plant as its stem and leaves contain capsaicin, resulting in a mild burning sensation when precautions are not taken. It's this quality that results in a painful prickling sensation when eaten, but unlike other spicy herbs, every component of the plant tastes horridly bitter and is unfit for consumption. you can but it tastes bad See above regarding consumption. I thought about it and realized I didn't want to block people from using the flower, so I changed it so it must be grown indoors (but will still be diminished!). Other added details: When in full bloom, its flowers possess a faint sweet floral scent with a hint of black pepper notes, described as 'spicy' by some. A less common use for the refined pigment powder is to condense it into incense, smelling like a 'sweet campfire' scent of sorts when burnt. Speaking with @kuebikomade me realize I neglected to denote a scent, and missed out on a potential for incense. I debated making it act like a type of pepper, but it's primary use is to try and be glowing ink/pigment/tattoos and piling on that seems like overload.
  16. obviously the solution to crp is to not crp, duh

  17. ─────────────────────────────────── Torch Flower ─────────────────────────────────── And so it stood defiant of the night, flickering like a flame out of spite. Summary: The Torch flower is a unique oddity among Aevos and the world at large, one that flourishes where many others would perish. Found in areas where the land has been scorched, the vibrant flower comfortably makes its home along volcanoes, though it has been successfully cultivated amidst arid desert sands in recent years. The plant flowers in almost furry looking clusters of various hues of crimson, orange, gold and white, often times a variation of all three on the same plant, though it is not unusual to see one flowering in a solid color. When in full bloom, its flowers possess a faint sweet floral scent with a hint of black pepper notes, described as 'spicy' by some. The plant derives its name from the luminescent glow it possesses, offering a steady light similar to that of a torch. This flower has found itself transplanted among walkways particularly around mountains, offering a soft light to guide those up otherwise dark and treacherous paths. ─────────────────────────────────── Harvesting: The harvesting of the plant is a simple ordeal; One will snip the flowering stem at the base, leaving the plant to able regrow more flowers rather than outright uprooting it. These flowers still retain their glow and can be rendered into a pigment that can be added or combined with others to add a luminous quality to the paint or ink. Most commonly it is applied to signs to make text visible at night, but Torch flower powder has found itself favored among artists to add a certain flare to their paintings. In recent times, it has been discovered that the pigment is able to be added to tattoo ink, and while the glow is not as potent as a torch in this form, the tattoos will softly glow to a degree, driving up demand for the flower. One must be careful when handling the plant as its stem and leaves contain capsaicin, resulting in a mild burning sensation when precautions are not taken. It's this quality that results in a painful prickling sensation when eaten, but unlike other spicy herbs, every component of the plant tastes horridly bitter and is unfit for consumption. Preparation of the pigment is straightforward; One must first separate the flowers from their stems which then must be dried for up to roughly one month. From here, the dried flowers are crushed and ground to a powder, which is further refined by sifting them and removing any impurities. This powder can then be added to any paint or ink. Attempting to combine with dyes would be unsuccessful, the luminosity failing to apply to clothing. White variants are most coveted, as the other colors tend to add a red or orange hue to whatever they are mixed in whereas the white will not. A less common use for the refined pigment powder is to condense it into incense, smelling like a 'sweet campfire' scent of sorts when burnt. While harvesting may be simple, proper cultivation is not. Those attempting to grow the flower outside of its ideal climate will find lack-luster results. The plant will grow less vibrantly, smaller, and with a glow closer to a flickering candle than a torch. It seems to rebel against captivity in this sense, driving a further demand for the wild-sourced variety of the plant. ─────────────────────────────────── Summarized Uses: The plant can be grown along pathways for illumination at night. The flowers can be processed into pigment that can be used on its own resulting in reds, oranges, yellows and whites, or combined with other pigments to result in paint and ink that its able to glow. Tattoos inked using the pigment produced are able to faintly glow, though never as much as the plant in its prime. The processed flower powder can be used as incense. ─────────────────────────────────── Redlines: Torch Flowers do poorly in captivity unless the individual is in a desert region or near a volcanic area. It will outright die in colder biomes with snow unless grown indoors. When grown outside of its preferred habitat, the plant’s qualities are reduced being no brighter than a flickering candle, with dulled coloring and is near useless for its main use, being reduced to a red dye at best. Torch Flowers lose their glow 1 narrative hour after being picked, at which point the light 'extinguishes' like a torch burning out. Torch Flowers cannot be mass grown in captivity, but can be found in clusters in their natural habitats. They are common within their native region, uncommon (but not rare) outside. Paint imbued with Torch Flower pigment will be half as bright as a torch, while tattoos will be ¼ the potency. Attempting to dye clothing with the pigment will fail. Torch Flowers and Torch Flower pigment are meant to be player signed and collected/created in roleplay. ─────────────────────────────────── Credits: Suzzie - Art, writing Kuebiko - spit balling ideas regarding incense, smell.
  18. Why not any dye? I would bite and use this if it weren’t for the color restriction. Not saying I want flaming hot cheeto horns but this seems restricting for no reason.
  19. crazy how my most iconic art piece is freakin purple wolf guy.. what the sigma..

  20. Mage Hand - T3 - Non Combative A basic utility spell in the arsenal of housemagery, a housemage can manipulate their mana to shroud an item and shift and reorganize objects within their home. This allows the mage to perform actions such as snagging books on a high shelf just out of reach, to shuffling furniture that they might not have the core strength to do alone. When used, the color of the caster's aura shimmers around the object like a veil or outline to demonstrate the spell is active. This spell is a popular one amongst scholars who use it to levitate several books around their person, flipping through various pages at once. This spell fizzles and fails when attempted to be used combatively, requiring finer focus than what is available while within the throes of a fight. Sharp objects are unable to be directed to another individual unless they possess a blunt end such as a knife and its handle, where the handle end would be what faces the desired recipient. T3 - A house mage may actively manipulate up to three objects at once. The total combined weight of the objects cannot exceed 15 lbs. The range of the spell spans 5 blocks in any direction. Requires two emotes of connection, and may be channeled up to 5 emotes. T4 - A house mage may actively manipulate up to four objects at once. The total combined weight of the objects cannot exceed 20 lbs. The range of the spell spans 10 blocks in any direction. Requires two emotes of connection, and may be channeled up to 6 emotes. T5 - A house mage may actively manipulate up to five objects at once. The total combined weight of the objects cannot exceed 25 lbs. The range of the spell spans 15 blocks in any direction. Requires one emote of connection and may be channeled up to 6 emotes. Redlines: Reasoning: Housemagery possesses spells that do almost, but not quite the functions of a traditional mage-hand like spell. With spells like Home Defense and Living Tools it feels like it is a spell that should be in the base housemage's repertoire, yet there is no spell that explicitly allows for them to freely move objects. I am aware this spell somewhat exists to a degree in Transfiguration but is not the exact same- I attempted to balance with the idea that it should not be stronger than that in transfiguration and should have more limitations. I'd also like to note that this is an ability that most assume to be in housemagery, but is not.
