ON DWARVEN JUSTICE By the Authority and Will of the King of Norland Issued on, 12th Caedric’s Kindling, 462 FifAeSF (7/9/23) To the People of Sólheim, On the 8th of Caedric’s Kindling, within this fortnight, a dwarven party of six, led by Lord Justicar Thromdrick Irongut, entered the Capital City of Norland, Vjardengrad, seeking an audience with me. These Dwarves claimed to be ambassadors of the Grand King, Garedyn, and came under a flag of truce. I, seeing the chance to deescalate the situation and bring peace between our people, welcomed them in my audience chamber and heard them out. They sought out the truth of the punishment of Frostbeard thieves and slanderers to which I dutifully provided the facts of the matter, with all witnesses to account as well. Quickly the Dwarven party questioned my sovereign authority to deal justice to criminals. They questioned why the Sons of Urguan were not sent to Urguan to face justice through their own courts. I explained in the simplest of terms that the Grand King had refused to engage in diplomatic relations with my Kingdom and in doing so, refused to sign any sort of pact which would offer extradition. I informed the Lord Justicar of the Ireheart and Frostbeard Clans’ well known reputation as war-mongers and evasion of ANY law, be it within or without Urguan. At that moment, the Lord Justicar began to beg me to immediately sign an extradition treaty with the Grand King and that, to quote the Dwed himself, “The one who killed and maimed our Dwarves can be brought to trial in Urguan.” The Ruriksting assembled roared with anger upon his inflammatory statement, condemning me, King of Norland, to suffer Dwarven Law for enacting Norlandic Law against outlaws. When asked to clarify, so as to ensure the Dwarf was serious, rather than telling a famous Dwarven jest. Unfortunately he informed the Ruriksting that he was utterly serious and that the Grand Legion of Urguan will descend upon Vjardengrad so as to capture all Norlanders guilty of wronging Bakir Ireheart and the Frostbeard Clan.
