Beginning as the Archduchess at just age sixteen with the Commonwealth falling into her hands after her father’s untimely death, she eventually was elevated to Queen of the Petra after many decades of diligent and unwavering commitment to her father’s life work, making it a reality that will carry on long after she is gone. The Commonwealth has truly metamorphosed over these venturesome 52 years of learning about her people and how to best serve their needs.

There will be a joust within the new tournament grounds through the East Gate of Vallagne, thoroughbred steeds will be provided for no fee, too shall lances for those that are unable to bring their own.

A partners tournament, there will be multiple groups of two men or women that shall competitively brawl for the honor of being named Champions of Vallagne.

The focus of this grand Royal Ball shall be the passing of one full Saint’s Year since the Queen’s taking office on the Throne of Garmont. Like all of the other River Court festivities, all are invited to this event that will be hosted in the Royal Palace.

It is with a heavy heart that the House of Halcourt announces that in this 89th Year (1944 Imperial) an indefinite period of regency for the Barony d'Artois due to unforeseen health issues following multiple pregnancies with regard to our Scion's daughter, the esteemed and gracious Baroness Elara.

Further, the Baroness entrusts her father Sir Laurens Halcourt d'Artois with the handling of all affairs within the Barony while she is unable to rule. The House announces too, that a formal declaration of the ending of this Regency shall be had before its conclusion; mainly in prioritization of the Baronne's health, but also due to unstable internal affairs.

The Barony of Artois is to be situated within Nouifelle Valenstrata, and its Members are warned not to enter the former Halcourt Brascan's "Beaumont" Keep, though if they should wish to, caution ought to be exercised. Hillbillies and river-dwellers run rampant.

Never will I deal with another insurrection in my life and that is why I shall squash it now; so we shall MOOT, but it will not be for my titles, the titles that I have earned and will die with.

I have earned my rightful place as the Scion of the Halcourt Dynasty -- and I will not be bullied. I was not called into an office and made the Baron because my sister disappeared. If the Barony af Brasca, a subsidiary title of mine, continues to entertain such hostile rhetoric, there will be no place in my lands for you.

Respond quickly or evict yourself from my home. I am not even sixty-years old and you all take me for some geriatric Lord. You insult our fair Queen in doing so, as we are the same age.

The Scion of the Halcourts quickly sent word for a Serviteur to which he'd instruct to send word of this revelation to his wife, the Marquise-Consort Ceceliya @Emi and to the boys mother Josephine @cherrybud.

It is with great honor that the Marquis announces the passing of the helm of the Barony af Brasca to His Lordship George Marc af Brasca @Pork.

There’s a moot for the inheritance of Artois. . and the good Baron ‘Georgie’ is going to work wonders with the af Brascans upon his coming of age! . . . Your Dieu-fille (c. God-daughter) is going to have a joust; the grand prize? Her heart! Adorable, innit, amie?” — After such a long winded statement the Knight and former Chanzlè of the Realm took a sip from his coffee mug. He’d strategically mixed in more than a servings worth of brandy, for effect.

The Marquis du Clermont Laurens I Henri Halcourt d’Artois smiled the Petran smile upon receiving the missive and quickly sent word to his kin that they’d been invited!

Sir Laurens commented, "I knew we'd come up with a good resolution!" as he votes aye on the bill in the Garmont Assembly after heated debate.

✩ C’EST LA VIE | 83 ✩

The group of loyal Petrans sat out in the 83rd Year (Astana de Regne Petrére) (1939, Imperial) on a quest of caution and diplomacy. Insightful intelligence brought to us at our most sacred Court of Saint Emma is what led those of us curious enough to believe that there is something lurking near the beloved Aldtree, also donned the Memory Tree. The retinue, lead by HRH the Prince of Valfleur Paul Alexander of the Petra, arrived upon a most curious and distressed creature flailing at the foot of the tree. Upon arrival, a storm commenced and figures that we assume are the Naga, a gooey critter, appeared out of nowhere. These foes were brought swiftly to their demise as we inched closer to the target.

After falsely imprisoning the friend in an industrial net, we learned of its intentions. We spoke with the creature whose identity is still unknown, and learned that its home is our dearly held Aldtree. We urge those of our Citizenry who come across anything bearing the following description and ask that you not be so quick to judge, for they are harmless in our experience.

Red in color with black scales along the back. The one we encountered seemed to be wearing some sort of yellow and blue tribal outfit.

The Archduchess of Vallagne Winifred's twin-brother, the Prince of Valfleur, Paul Alexander of the Petra, looked upon the missive and weeped.

If anyone were to view the Prince sitting on the balcony atop the Chateau d'Estenou, they would wander if he were weeping for the tragedy that seemed to befall his sister -- quite literally, his other half, or weeping in joy of the birth of his niece and nephew.

Either way, Paul cried. . . so many losses at such a young age; he felt lost, abandoned.
