The Resignation of Palatine Konstantin var Ruthern 7th of Sigismund’s End, 1709 It is with a heavy heart that I must resign from the office of Palatine. With the prospects of a family and fort construction underway my time must be spent furthering my personal life, and more importantly my family’s. In the short time I have served as Palatine I can only hope that the Kingdom has benefited from my stay, and that the next Palatine will act with full faith and glory. When you stand with one of the greatest nations to ever grace GOD’s lands, you must be a leader of faith, community, and family. Everything was prepared- the blood, the candles, the etchings. He stood in the center of the circle, taking a deep breath before commencing. He ran through the words once more under his breath, sure to not stutter nor forget. The candles faded away as he sat there in the center of the bloodied carvings, his wrist open as his thoughts carried him far from where he rested. Thoughts of regret came first as he was dragged down into the abyss below, a primal emotion of fear beginning to overwhelm him. Infinity went on, at this point he was unsure if he was falling or not, his body perhaps now unphased to the sensation. Once more regret scratched his brain, though he quickly shook it off. Now it was too late as his free-fall came to a sudden stop, he quickly snapped to his surroundings in the pitch blackness that surrounded him. It smelled like rot, festering meat long forgotten. He couldn’t help but gag, holding in the contents of his stomach. Sound was dull, as was feeling, a sensation all too accustomed for the former undead. Nearly unmakeable in the shadows remained a slender figure, towering over the now worn Ludwig. HAESENI DEPARTMENT OF MAGICK – 1704 Pro Deo et Patria Death of the Wopperklaw A note for all Haenseti citizens, the dastardly and evil demon known as the Wopperklaw has been slain by the immaculate Lord Baron Ludwig van Wick. Below the Markev caverns, this dastardly beast caused thousands of mina of damage. Known to eat small Haensetic children, the Wopperklaw needed to be stopped- luckily, the hero, the GOD sent, Lord Baron Prince of the Wickwald Ludwig van Wick, found said beast. With his large and muscular hands, he strangled the beast as it spit acidic venom towards his face, though it simply bounced off Ludwig’s chiseled face. Giving the beast a single punch, its head flew off, wailing into the depths of the cave. Some say the head of the Wopperklaw is still flying from that punch today. Worry not people of Haense, any magical beasts or demons will be defeated by the head of the Department of Magick.
