What magic(s) will you be teaching?

    Farseer

Describe this magic or a creature as a whole:

Shamans serve as the cultural heads of the orcish religion of spiritualism. Serving as the anchor between the spiritual realm and the mortal realm. Shamans are the mouthpieces of the spirits, beings of power which represent ideas, actions, and nature.  Shamans are devout to these beings, loyalty sworn to spread their word for those willing to listen, being their hands in the mortal plane.

Are there different sections or subsections of magic? Can those be elaborated upon?

Having the ability to traverse the immortal plane, along with others if they so choose, Farseers are the mouthpieces of the immortal spirits in particular. Compared to the Witch Doctor, Farseers tend to have more positive and lawful connotations. An example of this is their ability to call upon a spirit with the elder tongue of old blah to bless fauna or flora as long as the blessing aligns with the spirit’s goals. Another important ability these descendents have is the power to spirit walk. These walks to the immortal plane can be taken with one or more other descendants, even if they are not shamans. Farseers are sometimes inflicted with visions of the past, present and future. However, these visions are often enigmatic, showing only half truths and riddles. These visions can be inflicted upon others as well.

Can you give an example of a casting emote, of a spell of your choice?

    Blessing of Luara on Flora

[!] The crimson goblin kneels upon the morning-dew grass, in front of a patch of daisies, a handheld, leatherbound drum he breathes in a long breath as he begins to drum before speaking in the guttural tongue of old blah. “Lûpizg latû, Luara-hai, goth ranob, lûpizg latû!

[!] The shaman speeds up his drumming to a gallop as he continues his roughened words which spill from his mouth “Isllat blûg rangatob. Gaakh drauulu zabûrztuk.”

[!] The goblin finishes his drumming, raising his hands to the sky and praises “Lûp Luara! Lûp Luara! Goth ranob!”

    [!] Rolled 7 out of 10

[!] A rolling gray mist forms upon the right palm of the shaman, he lowers his hands to the daisies, holding the petals gingerly with one hand. As if on queue, the mist expands outwards in a sweeping motion away from the goblin. The mist seetmingly dives into each crevasse of the petals in the patch.

[!] As the mists dissipate, the petals of each daisy glows a brilliant blue, with equally brilliant pollen-like particles floating upwards to the sky before fluttering away to nothingness. The glow dissipates, only appearing once more under the light of the moon.

Can you give an example of a teaching-emote (interacting with another) of a spell of your choice?

“Come, young azh,” The crimson goblin beckons, his staff crunching the grass upon the earth. “Have lat ztudied da tome mi haz given lat?” He dips his head expectantly.

“Yub, mi haz.” The student nods firmly “Old blah iz hard to get uzed to though.” He snorts, scratching the back of his head awkwardly.

The crimson goblin chuckles “Of courze, mi had da zame troublez, but az long az lat grukz bazic wordz agh grammar. Now, let uz peep if lat can connect to da immortal realm.”

The student nods, taking a seat in front of his teacher.

“Lat haz an inztrument right?” The goblin queries with an arched brow

“Ah. Yub.” The student yelps as he quickly reaches into his backpack to retrieve a simple harp. The student strums it quickly before looking to his teacher.

“Now, relax. Focuz on latz muzic, lat, agh nubbin elze.” The goblin croaks softly “Den, call out to da zpiritz. Play agh dey will notice.”

The student takes deep breaths in and out, playing his harp to a simple tune as he sways back and forth.

The crimson goblin stays silent, observing his student’s process.

The student continues to play before calling out in a rough tongue to the spirit realm, feeling a scooping sensation before collapsing unconscious.

Say your student powergames during or after teaching, how do you reprimand that?

When it comes to powergaming, communication is key. Even before an action like powergaming occurs, make a set of rules they must agree to. If they do powergame, communicate to the student to not do the action in question again, communicating the consequences if they continue to make it a habit. Hopefully they will understand their mistake and not do it again. If they continue however, it is best to nip the bud.

MC Item description (the exact description that will be used for the MC item if this MArt is accepted):

A sizable, beige gourd, unremarkable in appearance, hanging from a whittled junglewood staff with rope. Fashioned onto the staff, a chain of emerald beads coil the upper half of the wood, each bead sporting a symbol of Betharuz. Within the gourd flows a green, opaque liquid which smells of potent cactus green.

    Effect(s) of the Artifact:

    Bottomless Joy

The gourd has a seemingly endless amount of alcohol within it. The alcohol itself is similar to that of orcish grog with a noticeably potent cactus green flavor. Imbibers may feel euphoric and have a sensation to celebrate upon consumption.

    Blessing of Betharuz

Being a blessed object of Betharuz, pouring the liquid within the gourd onto a cactus green plant or products related will result in a superior quality of product.

    Red Lines of the Artifact:

    • The alcohol from the gourd cannot be used to flood an area or any other combat or destructive means.
    • The alcohol from the gourd can make a person drunk if consumed enough, although this depends on the tolerance of the imbiber. The alcoholic content is similar to that of a strong beer (~8% ABV).
    • The brew will not force someone to celebrate or throw parties.
    • Power of the blessing is equivalent to a T5 Farseer flora blessing of Betharuz.
    • The blessing can only be done once per day in a maximum 5x5 block radius.
    • All cactus green items, plant or product, affected by the liquid has a much longer and better high when smoked, but will not overdose the smoker on one dose.
    • The artifact must be maintained once every 2 OOC weeks by pouring three different mechanical alcoholic beverage items into the gourd. The items must be discarded mechanically afterwards.

Explanation of the effect(s) (i.e. how it does what it does - slight bending of magic lore is allowed):

A staff blessed by Betharuz, the Immortal spirit of alcohol, cactus green, and celebration, Akrug Narish is his hands at work within the material plane. Although the materials which make up the staff itself are mundane, the liquid within the gourd is anything but. When the emerald beverage is consumed, the gourd appears to refill itself despite the minimal mass of the drinks which have been poured within. Although the liquid produced is not enough to serve any combat purposes, it can certainly make one tipsy, often euphoric, from multiple swigs. One can also take notice when the liquid is administered onto a cactus green plant the flora will produce better quality products. Although not enough to overdose, the cactus green is far more potent than normal means. The affected products will have a longer, and better, high if smoked.

Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature:

Golems, the prized constructs of stone created by Golemancers. Used for a variety of tasks, especially in Dwarven society, from military use to household servants, the creation of a golem is considered an art to many, making them versatile in appearance, strength, and speed. Bound to an Impera, usually the creator, whom the golem is unwaveringly obedient to. The only orders a Golem cannot follow is to harm its impera or cause destruction to itself. It is suggested to give the golem orders for their purpose is to serve. If an Impera is unable to give orders via being deceased or refusing to give orders, the Golem may choose another Impera to serve its primary function.

Many years pass after golems were discovered, and designs begin to stagnate. However, after many more years of experimentation and trial and error by a group of dwarves, sigils were invented. These sigils practically replaced runes due to their replaceability These sigils can be put on their bodies, or more importantly the core, to perform certain functions. Sigils are split into two classes, core and auxiliary. Core functions require the use of core sigils and placed within the core, however this is not always the case. If a core reaches a critical state, they can run the risk from switching to a red state where the Golem will become disobedient, destructive, or similar malfunctions from a blue state which is considered normal and obedient.

Examples of core sigils include memory, sight, hearing, touch, and activation. The core is where the most essential sigils are placed and the core itself is usually installed where it would be most protected due to its fragility. Auxiliary sigils are sigils not required by the golem to function. These sigils are split into three subclasses, permanent, temporary, and single use. Permanent sigils stay active permanently, temporary sigils are similar to permanent sigils, except they are not passively on, giving a set number of uses before cracking. Single use sigils have only one use and must be activated. Examples of auxiliary sigils are preservation, illumination, compass, and disruptor.

The behavior of golems, although they have been worked on for centuries, have the flaw of lacking all emotion. However, the golem will eventually take on a personality similar to that of the creator and based off the experiences of the tasks they’ve been assigned to. A newly created Golem’s personality isn’t set in stone. When giving orders to a golem, it is important that the Impera is specific in instructions. For if a golem misinterprets orders it can be dangerous. Making a golem that was once in the military a servant will most likely result in the golem using violence to complete orders.

If this construct or creature has some form of aesthetic choice, can you describe how they look?

Ak-Rullaz is a Thanite Golem, perhaps the most versatile of the Golem classes. With a core consisting of an aurum cube with three auxiliary sigil slots, this class of golem usually ranges from 5-8 feet in height and can be made from multiple materials as long as it does not exceed the weight of ferrum. Usually slow and bulky, golems are average in reaction time and are extraordinarily strong, matching an adult orc. Durable against slashing weapons such as swords, golems are rather resilient. However, blunt attacks from a hammer can be deadly.

Ak-Rullaz is a 7 foot Thanite golem crafted artfully from stone harvested from the Hollow Mountain, though it holds no special properties. The first thing a person would notice is the curled, stomach length, stone beard, which sports prayers and hymns in dwinic rune script carved upon its rocky surface. The face is calm yet eerie in appearance, with a large gaping mouth as if singing.

  11. An aging Goldhand reads the missive carefully, humming in a dark room, a single candle lit illuminating his visage. The dwarf bobs his head a couple times, as he gingerly reaches for his scribing tools, dipping the quail feather into an ink pot. The dwarf then begins to write elegantly across the browned paper.

    Kazahar Norli of Clan Starbreaker,

I have received word of your return to the position of High Prophet; This is fantastic news. I pray to the Brathmordakin that you will uphold your promises lined within the missive, for such promises intrigue me, catching my interest. The lack of knowledge in the halls of Kaz'Darakaan has been a source of worry for me. If allowed, I would personally like to extend my aid. No longer will our gilded halls be ignorant, no longer will the halls be silent of hymns.

    Enn'dok'az yoth othok'koss krullaz,
    Vergil of Clan Goldhand

The dwarf folds the letter within an envelope, stamping it with the sign of the Aurokanar. The letter would arrive in Norli's hands.

  12. Spirit Signs

Respect towards the spirits is utmostly important to the Ruka craftsmen, smiths, and architects of the Uruk-hai. Among such honored traditions to respect said spirits is the practice of Spirit Signs. These sigils often accompany their crafts by being carved, painted, or inscribed upon it. Depending on the purpose of the craft, one or multiple Spirit Signs can sport the work. For example, an architect might paint the signs of Velkumezt and Urin upon a wall to bless the home with order and safety from the elements. Another example would be a smith carving a symbol of Ogrol on a blade to bless it with better maiming.

    Spoiler

One problem I noticed during my time with the orcs is that there is no visible look for the spirits symbols which I often see in roleplay item descriptions and whatnot. To fix this I prepared this post to present visible examples for both producers and consumers of items including such symbols of the spirits. Note that these signs are purely aesthetic and serve no advantage. Also note that Spirit Signs are not set in stone, but serve as a baseline for craftsmen to use for their works, or anyone wanting a bit of flavor to their roleplay, freely. So, feel free to change the signs as you wish!
