There seems to be 2 sides to this post, but the 'pvp goons' are not seeing my point. The electro mage didnt even have a chance to powergame because as soon as he started charging the blast 'pvp default' entered into the LOOC chat in a matter of seconds. PVP is heavily inefficient in contrast to magic here.
Also @Hyena if thats true, I doubt it is enforced...Even so, that's not really fair as opposed to someone who may only wield 2 weapons at a time. In MOST high fantasy based hubs a person may only wield a generalized magic + some other magic with ties to the generalized magic.
At this point im heavily considering to request the DND 'way od magic' that adds alignments and other factors to the mix lol.

Im not even the T5 electro mage as referred to in the post, it was a story I heard from a friend and I agreed that pvp in lotc isn't very fair. To be frank, I don't even like magic all too well even though I am t4 on a shelved character I usually stick to alchemy on my main. On most servers magic IS restricted and I hate how magic is abused on lotc especially because it has no limits; one persona could store 10 different magics, making their weaknesses little to nothing as they are sure to hold a magic that is good against your characters build. To me though, both the PVP and magic spam is not good for lotc and a spawn for bad roleplay.

@DPMMagic is meant to have its upsides and downsides, so is using a certain weapon. If you don't think that certain magic has upsides or downsides then you should recommend something. I roleplay electrical evocation correctly, using the 3 emotes and even sometimes throwing small metal items into the mix. You could say that magic rpers are ruining the server(which I note is a server based around high fantasy or the magical aspect of roleplay) but I could easily say that pvp is broken and conflict rp is definently in favor for people who have 100+ hours on mineplex.
It's really stupid to me @Hyena, rp conflict between rpers and pvpers is literally a waiting game to see who attacks rply first so that one side may solely enforce the way they want the conflict to unfold on the opposite party; definitely not a way for rp to happen. An rper who is bad at pvp definitely has the lower place on LOTC, even if they bring some good conflict to the table. I'll create an example; say you are a human girl whos secretly a lich walking down the road and someone 'minas or die' you(note that most bandits are pvp goons), in an rp situation a lich would definitely have the upper hand to catch the bandits by surprise, but there is literally 0 chance of this ending in an strictly RP conflict unless she waits for them to attack; which automatically leaves her at a disadvantage...She'd either realistically loose INRP because the person already wounded her due to her fear of attacking first, or she'd unrealistically loose from PVP because she chose to attack first to defend herself..

You guys should definitely watch "Reign" on Netflix. It's really good, and it's based in medeival times back in what I'd imagine is the 1600's, when Scotland and England were fueding. The main character is Mary, Queen of Scots, who was sent off to marry the crown-prince, the next King of France, Francis, to assure her protection and her countries protection under an alliance. I also recommend "The Crown" if you're into he British, and the current Queen of England when she was in her younger years. They're both really superb!
