  1. OCTAVIAN CAECILIUS HELANE ( @kaydo808 ) “Saint Julia, wife of Exalted Horen and Mother of Mankind, pray for the child whom God has granted me. Grant a life long in service unto you, and may it truly fulfill him. I pray you keep me as well, keep me strong and wise to defend my child from the dark of this world riddled with evil. Wash us both in your virtues and lead us to a pious life, seeking salvation through you.” With great thanksgiving unto God the Almighty, the Household of the Count and Countess of Orval doth seek to have it be known within all regions of our fair Imperium that a noble babe of legitimate stock hath been born. Upon the twelfth day of Sun's Smile, in the year of our Lord, six hundred and fifty-three, Her Ladyship, Countess Berengaria, safely delivered a strong and healthy son, born unto the House of Helane - assisted by a collection of physicians and midwives. Already, the child resembles his noble parentage and holds great likeness to his Lord Father. The babe came within its expected hours with the company of thunderous cries echoing through the halls of Castle Chalons. It is duly noted that young Lord Octavian Caecilius was received with great joy and celebration as the noble pair’s prayers were answered. Thus, he was baptized in this very hour by the Reverend Mother Ildegardaia, who too shared the couple's joyous mood. THUS, HE SHALL BE KNOWN AS; His Lordship, O C T A V I A N O F O R V A L Signed, The Right Honorable, His Lordship, Trajan Godfrey Helane, Count of Orval The Right Honorable, Her Ladyship, Berengaria Giuliana di Rosavena e Helane, Countess-consort of Orval Second Burgher of Alba
  2. Economic Security. Border Security. Our Security. For Burgess of Alba - IN THE YEAR OF OUR LORD, 648 A.A. The Empire has called for the formation of the Imperial Burgherraad, and with it, an election for its seats. For my political debut, I humbly step forth as a candidate to represent our Archduchy in the Imperial Burgherraad. I’m sure I stand out to many of our fair realm due to my age; I lack in practice when it comes to politics. I reassure you that even in my lack of experience, I shall present most prepared and duty-bound to the continued progress and prosperity of our Imperium, making the Just Codex sing out with the voices of all the people it governs. Over recent years, I’ve come to realize many people do not know the story of House Rosavena – So I shall share it. In sharing my family's story, I hope to put on display the values and instructions that have guided not just myself but my family for years: faith, service, and commitment to one's people. I wish to embrace these teachings and share these principles I hold dear, not as mere ambition, but the continuation of a legacy devoted to the prosperity, unity, and richness of the society it calls home. For Rosavena, home is Alba - Home is this Imperium. The Rosaveni came to this land as foreigners of the merchant class, with little to our name but what we could rebuild through hard work and faith. Alba gave us a place to begin again, and in return, we have tried – each in our own way – to give back to the land that took us in. My elders first came to this land by way of sea, withstanding the long journey from the Island of Illatia, a war-torn and beautiful land, yet filled with scheming. They settled and swore fealty within Drusco and even during its conflict with fellow servants of the Imperium, the House Rosavena remained loyal to that Druscan liege. Those who had been the first to grant rank unto a member of the House, raising them up in society. After the fall of Drusco, my family was given a second chance here in Alba, and with that opportunity this House- Rosavena- has taken the honorable mission to ensure that such a decline and fall does not make way to the lands of Alba, nor the Empire at large. This history has remained a driving force for the members of our family and a reminder of the duty I must have to the lands I reside in- it motivates me for the life I wish to take hold of as a Burgess of Alba. It has shaped how I see this realm – not as something guaranteed, but as something that must be cared for, protected, and strengthened over time. The current Patriarch of the House Rosavena, my Lord Grandsire has long served the Alban community. Through his service to both this Archduchy and his family I have been given a clear image of what it means to truly be dutiful and hold loyalty to those people of your home. With his push for education amongst the entire household and the entire Imperium as Dean of the Crownlands, I have had the opportunity to truly define what It means and will take for me to be one of the vessels which will bear the voice of the people. In my campaign and through every piece of work I put forth to the Burgherraad, I will: seek your concerns and council, your presence- no matter who, and work with the diligence of soldiers to denizen. THE FOUNDATION OF MY SERVICE. . . Security Through Strength As we continue to lay the foundation of this new era, the governing bodies must be sure to preserve and defend our extensive borders, safeguard our roads, and most importantly maintain the peace within our many vassals- I support a strong and steady military that is well-trained, well-equipped, and always at the ready for what may come. Advancement of Our Militaries We must continue to adapt and grow as an Empire together in order to secure what we now have; strength alone is impossible to achieve our desired outcome. With more people enlisting into the various Imperial militaries, the need for a unified and central military Legion is needed to police our lands. Not only that, but new and better equipment is required for the times our Imperium finds itself in; with creatures of unnatural origin running rampant, rogue mages drunk with power causing chaos, and so much more. I support strengthening the organization, equipment, and readiness of our militaries to make them stronger and better able to handle any threat. Stability Through Economic Growth A secure realm must also be rich with money and resources. To ensure that wealth circulates throughout the entirety of the realm, I believe it is vital to steadily build our economy through wise financial management, support for all forms of trade, and stimulation of economic activity. Opportunity Through Work and Industry We should share in our prosperity. To help the workers, merchants, and those who willingly contribute to the growth of our empire for they are essential to our functioning , I support expanding opportunities for all fields of work. Support and Representation of Craftsmen Skilled hands are the lifeblood of our Empire and a key part of the source of its strength. I support the funding, fair representation, and promotion of guilds and workshops to assist craftsmen and artisans, ensuring their trades are preserved. MY LEGISLATIVE COMMITMENTS Though my platform may seem modest compared to that of my peers, I intend to maintain a strict focus on my most pressing goals if elected as Burgess. With determination and discipline, I aim to complete these objectives within my first term: - The promotion of trade, trade hubs, and essential crafts through controlled loans, grants, support for merchants, workers, and those crucial to the functioning of our Empire. Additionally, local Guilds will be supported by the Imperial Treasury to expand all trade hubs and ensure the strength of our Imperium’s markets. - The formation and management of Imperial Guilds for workers that provide much needed work for our Empire and thus supplies us with our resources for trade, war, and construction, all the while providing the workers with fair payment and protections. - The regulation of taxes to allow for hardship adjustment, allowing payments to be made in minas or goods as their circumstances see fit, and strict punishment for corrupt tax collectors. - The maintaining of military readiness through the acts of carefully amassing weapons and supplies, conducting yearly round ups, and the upkeep of the military’s armor, siege engines, and other equipment. - The continued building of fortified castles and border keeps, alongside the construction and maintenance of Imperial roads and outposts, to further secure the realm and the protection of travelers. - The establishment and expansion of the Imperial Standard of Equipment to include specialized equipment for the combating of darkspawn, the undead, and other unnatural threats. Looking to the future- Should I be granted the opportunity for a second term, I will build a new plan informed by what proved most effective during my initial tenure, refining strategies to better serve the people of Alba and the Imperium as a whole. Some focus points I hope to pursue after my first term are: - The building and funding of shrines and chapels across the newly acquired lands and any region without necessary infrastructure. - The installation of an annual national imperial holiday and carnival week to celebrate our triumph in war and to celebrate our differences, fostering a shared pride and cultural identity among all peoples of the Empire. - The elevation of imperial infrastructure and architecture by the creation of established shops, meaningful and long-lasting government buildings, and more permanent homes. - The preservation of Imperial forests and resource-rich lands from overexploitation and destruction for the sake of our entire realm’s survival. I LEAVE YOU WITH THIS. . . An Empire strengthened by its faith, rich in its culture, thriving from fast-growing trade, and ever defensive of its lands- unified and secure. Should anyone like to share their thoughts, ideas and questions then you are more than welcomed to. If my plans for our great Imperium agree with you I would certainly be honored by your support for the upcoming Imperial Assemblies. – Your Civil Servant, Berengaria of Alba

  4. Penned By, Berengaria di Rosavena, Ward of the Janis Court The Formation of a Guild 639 A.A. You are most cordially invited to gather for tea and gentle company, that we might share conversation on the happenings of our realm, exchange talk both wise and frivolous, and pass the time in good humor. Let us sit together as a society, gathering to speak freely on all matters, as befits women of grace and discernment. I look forward to seeing new faces and old alike; let this be a time for us to forge new bonds. The purpose of this gathering is to consider the founding of a Ladies’ Society, should any be so inclined—devoted to women of beauty, wisdom, and grace. Such a society would serve as a safe haven for women: to foster fellowship and uplift one another, to host gatherings and events, and to aid in the shaping of culture through the arts, education, and charitable endeavors, both throughout the Empire and within the Archduchy of Alba. All women are welcome, regardless of rank or standing, provided they are willing to uphold the Society’s guiding principles: the cultivation of beauty and learning, the encouragement of grace and dignity, and the strengthening of one another through shared purpose and mutual respect. We also extend our sincere gratitude to Her Grace, Archduchess Lady Jane, for her generosity and support in this endeavor, and for graciously granting the use of the Alban Palace for our meeting. 8. House Rosavena’s lineage spans back centuries—into empires and kingdoms people still dream about. The blood of ancient and powerful figures runs throughout their family tree. They are an old and proud house, claiming descent from numerous historical figures through their ancestry: Emperors of Horen, Kings of Santegia, and many more, all denoting their enduring pride. Despite this, the House now starts anew, for all they once claimed has long been lost to time. A heavy task falls upon them to rebuild what was lost while forging a new name for themselves. The current direction of the House centers on supporting their allies and liege-lords, and on establishing a new home. Currently, the main line and cadet branches are looking for players to join—we’re seeking all sorts of folks who’d like to help out and try some Illatian RP. There’s plenty more I can explain, so feel free to message me on Discord @ .twistedfries if you’re interested. Our RP ranges from scholarly and faith-based pursuits to military, combat, artistic themes, and more. Here are some posts from our group that could help give you an idea about us, and allow you to get more involved in Illatian things, etc: https://www.lordofthecraft.net/forums/topic/262137-the-culture-of-house-rosavena/ https://www.lordofthecraft.net/forums/topic/262775-illatian-census-of-629-aa/
  9. A Thesis Penned by Sigismondo di Rosavena e Montelliano, 2052 Author’s Note, I, Sigismondo Raffaele di Rosavena, acolyte to Father Maurus, son of Niccolò di Rosavena, and humble aspirant of the scholarly arts, ever still learning the sacred word and rites of our faith, and the ways of the Empire, do pen this work. I write with no authority, nor with any wisdom greater than that of an acolyte who began his studies but only a few years before me. Rather, both my father and my teacher in the Church have instructed me to write with reverence, with hope—and above all, with certainty. My hope is that I may be the spark to a very bright flame—a beacon—to those in my generation who are perhaps wary of joining the Church or even of committing themselves to the faith, to GOD. Many fear to serve Him because they believe that to do so is to lose one’s freedom, but I would say that is far from true. It is through GOD that our souls find their greatest liberty. Yet finding and keeping faith is no easy feat; GOD’s path is quiet and ever-watchful, and though His word may seem distant, His hand is always near. His voice comes not in the peal of bells nor the strike of lightning, but in silence and stillness. And it is within that silence, and within our struggles, that He shapes and guides us toward salvation. I challenge not the ancient wisdom of our Holy Mother Church, nor that of any elder who has served the clergy for many years and is far wiser than I. This work is but the first of many—written to educate the public and to inspire a renewed call to devotion in all. I wish to reach out to all the poor and lost souls—those dwelling deep in the darkness of doubt and loneliness—that through my words, they might find faith where once they had none. May my words encourage others to do the same—to remain steadfast in the face of adversity, and to remember that GOD always has a plan, if only one holds enough faith to follow it. Introduction I humbly pray that my writings may stand to remind all who read it that even the youngest, humblest, or weakest pen may yet have the chance to proclaim the virtue of faith, which binds us all to GOD. For it’s said that faith is the seed from which all good and righteousness grows; without it, the soul decays and dies, leaving a man adrift in a sea of doubt. I write not as someone with perfect or ideal beliefs, but as one who has learned through personal suffering that faith is both trial and triumph—a quiet, unknowing love where GOD watches from afar, unseen yet ever so near. On the Virtue of Faith “I am the Lord GOD without peer, and My Word is the holy word, and My path is the virtuous path, and all the blessings of the Virtue shall fall before the righteous who tread it.” To have faith is to surrender to the will of GOD and the divine order of things—to trust in His word, and His word alone, always—even when the answers we seek most are kept hidden or revealed at the most inconvenient of times. The Holy Scrolls remind us that faith is not merely a belief, but rather steadfast obedience and perseverance: not the absence of fear, but the strength to endure it—or better yet, anything that comes our way. Through faith, the good and the just are made whole; for faith is the bridge built between the mortal and the divine, connecting us to GOD. When the prophets of old were cast deep into despair, whether from mental or physical tribulations, it was faith that saved and preserved them. When the Prophet Horen first heard the voice of GOD, it was faith that moved him to believe and obey. So too must we, the children of the Church of the True Faith, carry faith within us. As it is written in the Scroll of Virtue, Canticle of Faith: “And so I shall guide you in a theater of virtue, and the virtuous shall not live except by My Word.” GOD compares the mortal life to a grand theater—a divine show of virtues—where His faithful are the actors upon the stage. Each of us is given a prized role to play, a story crafted by His hand; we need only give into His will, and all shall be well in the end. To live virtuously and by GOD’s light is not to dwell in the shadow of doubt nor that of malice, but to act with humility and grace. For in this sacred theater, the faithful are the stars of GOD’s great play, shining not for vanity’s sake, but so that others might see and be guided toward Him. On the Need for Faith Faith is the cornerstone to all of civilization, the bond that keeps humanity whole. Without faith, there is no unity, no hope, no peace. The Scrolls say: “Though the spring flower withers and the fruit of the tree falls to the ground, My Word lasts into the eve of the world, and the fruit of virtue cannot rot.” Faith teaches us not to place our trust in the material things of this realm—for such things fade with time—but to remember that our virtuous souls will live on eternally, so long as we live rightly. Thus, every Canonist must see that faith is not solely a priestly matter—it is the duty of the farmer, the soldier, the scholar, and the king alike, for only through faith are the virtuous made safe. To doubt GOD is to deny the human soul its anchor. GOD does not act as mortal kings do—He is not boastful, fickle, or vain. He is quiet and still, yet ever moving; He loves, watches, and guides. To trust Him even in silence is the purest act of devotion, and such faith shall grant you the truest divine light. On Saint Everard I of Al’Khazar Saint Everard I is remembered as High Pontiff and martyr of holy tradition—a steadfast and unmoving defender of the faith, renowned for his constant opposition to the Sheffield regimes and the cults of Iblees. A staunch conservative and devoted scholar, he stood apart from the rest of the clergy of High Priest Bernard’s era through his deep reverence for sacred rites, ritual, and discipline. As a follower of Saint Daniel, Everard I worked tirelessly and without rest to restore order to the Church during an age of great turmoil, founding enclaves of the faithful along the outskirts of Oren. Even as Al’Khazar burned with heresy and its king himself fell to dark, black worship, Everard I remained unwavering in his communion and loyalty to GOD. He held secret vigils, led his followers into exile, and endured persecution, branding, and torture so that the light of the Church—and of GOD—might endure through darkness. Tests of Faith: The Mountain I myself, an unworthy and most youthful servant, was so tested. When “The Mountain”—that monstrous being long sealed beneath the surface of Aevos—burst forth upon the town of Drusco, I was caught in the crossfire. His fury cast me down with such force that my skull might have been shattered; yet by providence, it was my ear that took the brunt of the blow. I awoke maimed—half-deaf—yet alive, and for that I thank GOD. Many would call what befell me a misfortune, but I saw in it the divine touch of GOD. If it was my ear alone that was lost, and not my life entire, then surely it was He who preserved me. As Saint Everard I, High Pontiff and martyr, endured countless trials with unwavering faith, so too must we. For it is written in the Holy Scrolls: “And I have given you life: I am your Father, and the Father of all things.” Though tormented, Everard prayed to GOD—the Father of all things, and thus the One in whom he could trust—and was granted victory soon after. And so, though my hearing may forever be diminished, my soul is strengthened beyond measure. For through this wound I have learned what I once knew only by word alone: that all things are ordered by GOD—even suffering—and that nothing lies beyond reason in His divine plan. Conclusion Let all who come to read my humble work learn to remember that faith does not demand the perfection of one's soul, nor anything for that matter but perseverance. To endure and believe when no one else can, to hope even when the rest of the realm has been casted into despair. May GOD's divine light strengthen our hearts to allow us the chance to walk in His image. Signed, Sigismondo di Rosavena e Montelliano, Acolyte of Father Maurus
  10. Sigismondo Raffaele of House Rosavena sat in his villa’s private chapel, praying - a rare practice for him, but one he felt was worth the chance. “Dio Almighty, please’a watch over us, everyone involved’a in zhis forsaken war. Let zhis conflict be resolved’a swiftly, and may we find’a peace once more’a.” At that, the young Illatian boy then signed the Lorraine cross over his chest; finishing his prayer.
  11. House O’Hara spans back about three hundred years or so to the continent of Atlas where they first made their start. They were once a great house, but after the untimely death of their longtime founder and patriarch, Nolan O’Hara, they soon fell into chaos which then led to their ultimate self destruction. The current direction of the House is that of supporting their allies and of forging a new home for themselves abroad. In the far West, The Shugonate of Koyo-Kuni, they are building up a new state/vassal called Val’Taynuel. The Matriarch of O’Hara has been placed as second in command, allowing her to influence politics from within, and to take charge when the Lady Protector is absent. My second kid is currently playable so at the moment I’m looking for someone to fill that role (the player can choose the characters gender & features, but they do have an older sibling already being played so I can explain what they look like when the time comes, the character is an Adunian too). To anyone else who may be interested in this, my character can still have a few more kids- I plan to continuously recruit if I can find the players so just let me know. Anyone who may want to learn more about the family & related things can send me a message over discord (.twistedfries).

Nonetheless, he did not fear his newfound position, he instead embraced it and felt rather prepared at last to take hold of his family, his home, everything.

  16. A SQUIRE'S THESIS ON CHARITY Published on the 12th of The Deep Cold, 1976 "So I am the Most High, and in pursuit of my Virtue, I bid my faithful this: You shall not desire the wealth of this world, nor the wealth of others, but the wealth of the spirit." (Virtue 2:10) - "I am the Lord GOD without peer, and My abundance is the holy abundance, and My wealth is the virtuous wealth, and all the blessings of the Virtue shall fall before the righteous who share it." (Virtue 2:11) Within the holy scrolls a numerous amount of virtues are outlined, each leading back to a singular guiding principle that directs the children of GOD away from the pursuit of material wealth and success and instead towards the embracement of GOD’s wealth of spirit. In this humble treatise, I shall embark to showcase my exploration of this noble virtue of charity which I have come to believe is the cornerstone of righteous living in our tumultuous era. As we navigate the challenges of life, we are called to heed to teachings of holy scriptures and the wisdom of our forebears whom found the greatest joys in acts of compassion and benevolence. Take for example the Venerated Queen Amaya who dedicated her life to charity for her people or King James I of Aaun whose court was well known for its religious vigor and charity to the people of the capital. Through discussion, the essence of spiritual charity and its profound importance will become apparent in our quest for eternal salvation. Spiritual charity, as understood by the wise and pious of our time, is the sacred act of extending compassion, kindness, and benevolence to our fellow Descendants, inspired by a deep reverence for GOD and a profound love for all of his creations. It transcends all concerns and material wealth, reaching into the depths of the human body to nurture virtues such as humility, empathy, and selflessness. The Supremacy of Spiritual Charity Amidst the myriad virtues extolled by sages and scholars, spiritual charity reigns supreme as the crowning jewel of human goodness and piety. Unlike fleeting riches and worldly honors, the treasures amassed through acts of spiritual charity endure for eternity, enriching both the giver and the receiver with divine grace and blessings. Reasons for Its Supremacy In an age marked by strife, suffering, and moral decay, spiritual charity emerges as the surest path to divine favor and eternal bliss. It is through the practice of spiritual charity that we embody the teachings of our faith and fulfill our sacred duty to love and serve our fellow beings. By turning our hearts towards the divine and imitating His boundless compassion, we find fulfillment and purpose in the service of others, knowing that our deeds are pleasing to GOD and worthy of reward. How to Follow This Virtue To follow in the noble virtue of spiritual charity, one must cultivate a heart filled with love, compassion, and empathy for all creation. This entails practicing acts of kindness, generosity, and forgiveness towards our fellow beings, regardless of their station in life or circumstances. Such examples could be as simple as giving out extra bread during the winter colds or complimenting a fellow traveler's cloak. By embodying the virtues of humility and selflessness, we emulate the example set forth by the saints and martyrs who came before us, paving the way for favor and salvation. Conclusion Let us heed the call to embrace the virtue of spiritual charity as the highest expression of righteousness and piety in our time. In a world plagued by sin and moral decay, let us strive to cultivate hearts rich in compassion, kindness, and goodwill toward all creation. By embodying the teachings of our faith and extending love and mercy to our fellow beings, we secure our place in the Seven Skies, where we shall dwell in eternal bliss and communion with the divine. He was unsure of how his life would pan out now that he had been named as the new Count of Revedin. Deep down inside himself Leuie felt as though he was not prepared nearly as well enough as his eldest sister, but he still knew that he could not let his parents down during this difficult time. After some time of deep thought and reflection, Leufroy then finally let out a shaky sigh as he tried to pull himself together for the sake of his family. At that, he went to continue his day, though he barely offered any words to anyone who might have come across him.
