~ Barbek Military ~

 

*The suns rays shine brightly down atop the village of Barbek, children would have been spotted playing about the villages streets and woods, the faint smell of sawdust could still be smelt as the carpenters and laborers continue to work hard on the construction of the village itself, a local trader would have been spotted setting off past the town hall, pulling his horse and supply cart behind him, inside the hall itself the Jarl of Barbek would be sitting at the end of the town halls great table, occupied by her Captain’s and Sergeant’s discussing the future of the newly formed Barbek Military, she neatly binds the papers together looking up to her loyal soldiers.* “I assume we all agree on the terms then?” *The Captain’s and Sergeants fix gazes with each over smiling and nodding in confirmation before one turns back to the Jarl and speaks.* “Today in this very room, we form the official Barbek Military, we are honored to be part of this cause, we will reinforce the rules and laws, from this day onwards the streets of Barbek will be a much safer place to wonder because of you.” *The Jarl stands from her seat with a large smile on her face heading towards the town hall’s doors before stopping and turning.* “Start the recruitment and training process straight away, today we make history.” *The soldiers raise from their seats following the Jarl out into the village as she buckles up on her pony and rides off.*

 

 

Jarl -  The Jarl is the individual person who is incharge of the village of Barbek and the Captain’s of the Barbek military meaning that they have full and total control of the military itself, the Jarl enforces the laws and rules throughout the village and military which are then also reinforced by the Captain’s and Sergeants, the Jarls word is final and the individual should be highly respected and honored by all.

Becoming a Jarl of Barbek would only happen if the Jarl was suspected to be corrupted or if they were to pass away due to age or during battle.

You would have to be of the same bloodline as the Jarl or the most respected and honorable Captain in the military, the burden of a Jarl is a task which very few people can cope with, so don't be disappointed if you fail by a long shot. The individual roles of a Jarl are not exposed too much due to confidential matters, although some tasks which are typically expected would be the arrangement of battles, executions, knighting Captain’s, arranging construction, keeping track of tax and so on.

Captain’s -  This rank is considered the highest peak in the Barbek military, becoming a Captain is a very hard task to endure physically and psychologically, most people fail.

Becoming a Captain of the Barbek military means that you will have to firstly convince the Jarl that you will be a loyal and efficient asset to her military, then you will be assigned a special set of tasks that you will be expected to individually complete on your own without any other help, once you have completed these tasks you will then be given command of a group of Sergeants who you will have to assign tasks, you will be watched over and assessed, if these tasks come back as successfully completed then this will give you a higher chance of actually getting the role of Captain.

You will be harshly disciplined and trained in preparation of an honorable fight in an arena against a set amount of Guards and then a small group of Sergeants who you will be expected to be able to defeat, you will be watched over by the Jarl and other high status individuals of Barbek.

Finally you will be called forth to the town hall in front of all the Civilians, Guards and Sergeants where the Jarl will either knight you as a Captain of the Barbek military, or shun you as a failure. Captain’s will get payed 125 Mina’s an elven week.

Sergeant’s -   Becoming a Sergeant in the Barbek military is no easy task, you will undergo a set amount of different tasks, physical exams, psychological assessments and you will be tested on how well you can cope whilst commanding and training a group of Barbek Guard’s, becoming a Sergeant of the Barbek military means that you will be expected to be able to command a small regiment of Barbek guards with ease, meaning that you will have to be able to make quick decisions and smart ones taking different things into consideration like; what the situation is and how you are going to handle it with the least amount of casualties as possible, knowing which of your Guard’s work well together and knowing how you can use this to your advantage whilst trying to apprehend criminals or if you are on the battlefield.

When it comes down to it, this small group of Guard’s that you will take under your wing are going to be your responsibility, meaning if one of them makes a wrong decision or if a fatality happens, you will get blamed for not keeping your Guard’s up to scratch.

As a Sergeant of the Barbek military you will now have the ability to be able to opt one of your Guard’s into the role of becoming a Sergeant themselves, you will be expected to give the individual extra training and attention in preparation for becoming a Sergeant, once you think that the individual is prepared enough then you may opt that individual to a Captain, who will test the Guard and make a final decision as to whether or not if the Guard is really ready for the role of Sergeant. Sergeants will get payed 100 mina’s an elven week.

Guard’s - Once you have completed your physical assessment as a Recruit, you will undergo more training which will advance you in combat situations and your general knowledge as to what being a Guard of Barbek really means, whether this is on the streets of Barbek or on the battlefield. Becoming an official Guard of Barbek means that you will inherit the Recruit’s roles as well as having additional roles given to you.

As a Guard you will now have the ability to arrest, kill or apprehend criminals in Barbek, although catching a criminal alive will get you praised, if you continue to show dedication and determination towards your role as a Barbek Guard then you may be opted into becoming a Sergeant. Guards will get payed 75 mina’s an elven week.

Recruit’s - This is where you will start your training into becoming a Barbek Guard, once you have gone through the necessary processes of becoming a Recruit, you will be expected to obey your superiors and complete a set amount of tasks and training until you can undergo your physical assessment which will determine whether or not if you have been accepted as a Barbek Guard, Recruit’s do not have the ability to arrest people but are simply expected to train for the future purpose of becoming a Guard of Barbek whilst obeying their superiors. Recruit's will get payed 30 Mina's an elven week.

So be in the Skype chat or in Barbek itself, everybody turns up to the training sessions (( Recruits, Guards, Sergeants.)) which is organized by the Captains of the Barbek military, after the training sessions are complete you will get payed your full weekly wage. Failing to turn up to a training session without warning the Captain's will result in a strike and no payment.))

 

If you are inactive for more then a week's time without notice then you will receive your first strike. Three strikes and your out.
