Please bring the staff to me, I am quite interested in it. I was an old friend of Bell and would greatly enjoy keeping such a relic safe.

The late Arch-Mage Bell had never used a staff. Only in her days as an Ascended she wielded the generic tools of Aerial's spawn before stripping herself of her own Ascended blessing to carry on her role as Arch-Mage of the Mage's Guild without biases. After this, she went on her own pilgrimage to acquire a large sum of valuables to forge an enchanted blade of eminence proportions. This blade was her tool of choice when weaving spells until she fell to the hellish grasp of the Nether.

In short, this staff is a fake. Unless that is that yourself has somehow come into ownership of one of Arch-Mage Bell's numerous Ascended staffs.
