Hail, LotC. Later today, the server will be undergoing some scheduled maintenance, and may be down for anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour. Sorry for the inconvenience. We will work during this maintenance on providing some of the following features.

 

Some of these have been added, some are to be added today, and some are us preparing for the addition of such in the very near future. So make sure to keep informed and prepare properly by reading through this new post.

Rumours fly about Anthos this seed. Rumours of an enigmatic forest, arisen from beneath the waves, far beyond the continent of mortals. It is whispered that this island holds the dormant gate to another realm, the resting place of beings powerful beyond reckoning. Many a sober mind will scoff at such outrageous rumours, yet none can hope to deny the existence of vast amounts of primitive staffs that have been popping up around Anthos, for sale at many a cornershop and hole-in-the-wall. A sham concocted by creative salesmen? Perhaps. Yet those who feel daring may obtain such a stone staff for themselves, and should it come to you, whisper the ancient chant off the benefactor.

 

For those who have seen this mysterious place I am making up, any suggestions and tips for additions are welcome. We care deeply for our donators, whose generosity is often the only thing that keeps this server alive. While any features that could be considered pay-to-win will not be implemented, anything else you would like to see will certainly be taken into consideration. Eventually, a warp will be added to this place as well (when we get out of the suggestions and feedback stage), but for now you will have to find yourself a staff.

Today brings the return of chairs. Happy day indeed. Some extra restrictions have been added to chairs to make them less viable as a wall-hopping mechanism. Most of you shouldn't notice this, however. (Those who did, shame on you!) Regardless, feel free to finally take a relaxing sit-down after a very long trek.

In the event of death-by-chair, please notify us of on the chain of events leading up to that death.

A call for Help:

Remember the Dungeon Plugin we promised a while ago? Would you believe it has just been sitting there on the drawing board, unable to be released because we do not have any Dungeons it can be used for? We are of the belief Dungeons can provide an amazing experience while keeping the players occupied, providing a purposeful Roleplay setting, a reason to log in, and possibly some sweet rewards and lore to boost your character.

 

Those who feel creative enough to build dungeons should respond here or PM any Senior Tech on these forums. We will have you added to the Beta Tester chat, from where we will provide you with instructions and access to the dev server.

 

Beta Testers are also required for the myriad of plugins we are hoping to release soon. Because many Beta Testers. We should stress that this function is not just for you to have a sneak peek at the new features, then log off. It is a responsibility, and one that is crucial to the stability of the server. Please consider the function of beta tester if you:

 

• Have some elementary knowledge of plugins and what makes them work and not work
• Are willing to take some time out of your Roleplay to help speed up the release of plugins.
• Can actively look for Bugs and Glitches that may haunt these plugins still.
• Are good at cooperating with others in order to stress test the features.

 

Remember, the less I have to worry about Beta Testing, the more time I have to work on the plugins you so deeply desire. So if you are interested, respond here or PM Telanir, and we will have you set up on Skype and eventually the dev server.

HorseHelper:

Today sees an overhaul of everybody’s favorite breedable animals: Horses. These proud companions have been victim of many nasty incidents lately, so I am happy to report that with the oncoming patch today, these will be fixed. We also have a few new features added!

 

+ Crash Handling: You will now log out and log back in with your horses. No more stallions lost to the lag monster!

+ Breeding: You may breed your horse once every 3 days! Breeding is a highly costly procedure, though, so make sure those new foals are well worth their Minas!

+ Nametags: Iron VIPs and up will now have the ability to engrave their own nametags! This nifty new feature can be called on once each elven day. To create a Nametag, combine diamond, iron, leather and string.

+ Ability to store unwritten maps and book+quill in your Bookshelves

+ You can now lock a bookshelf with a standard, LWC-locked sign. People that do not have access to your locked bookshelf will peruse a read-only version, which allows them to read the book in text format, but never take them out. Lockpicking rules still apply!

Auctioneers:

A caraven of large-nosed foreigners is riding into Anthos, shrewd and reliable entrepeneurs with a nose for mercantile. They are looking for a well-traveled, wealthy cities to set up their many Auction Houses, where traders from all over the continent can put up their wares for sale, ready to be shipped off to the Highest Bidder. In return for your hospitatily, these merchants are willing to give you a small commission on every item they auction off successfully.

 

If you think your city would be the most suitable place for an Auction house, let it be known. Make sure to boast about your town's activity and really rub their nose in it, because more trade equals more profit, and greed is good.

 

It should be noted that Auctioneers will not be the only way to trade goods in the future, so even if you miss out now there will be proper (and fashionable) shops, available to those with the right VIP level as always.

I'd be glad to help with some dungeon building, I think it's safe to say I'm fairly good at building structures and creating atmosphere. I'm not exactly a redstone whiz but I have a basic understanding of circuitry as well to compliment my building. It's important to note that I haven't been spending oodles of time dedicated to the server or really Minecraft anymore, but I'll see what I can do! Here's some of my work to peruse...

Please feel free to breed as many horses as you are able. However, you will find breeding to be thoroughly exhausting for your horses, which might mean you might find their ability to produce spawn a rare occurrence.

 

Donkeys seem to possess much tougher endurance, though.
