Drip. . .drip. . .drip. . .drip.

The sound of dripping water rang through the cavernous halls of Kal'Ithrun, as if a giant was treading on the cobbled streets of the city. This was a familiar sound to the short, stout residents of the dwarves. Oft small things made loud noises, echoing off the walls of Kal'Ithrun, and many large things made small noises, the sound being absorbed by the stone.

Drip. . .boom. . .Drip. . .boom. . .Drip. . .BOOOooom. . .CRASH!

Suddenly the very stone the city was composed of shook; the noise echoing through the stone as an ear-splitting crack like an amplified whip turned the soothing atmosphere of the city into a violent cacophony of loud crashes. The dwarven citizens covered their ears, looking around.

Two legion guards who were on duty heard the noise coming from the throne room. "Wut dat be" asked one. The other answered lazily "Naefin. . .prubableh sum cave in en da caves below da citeh. . ."

Then silence re-conquered the halls of the Dwedmar.

"SHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!"

The legion guards did not even have time to turn around, as bat-like creatures with small wings and teeth like sharks attached onto their bodies, munching on their flesh. They did not even have enough time to scream, as the cave leeches infested the room. The invasion had begun.

Then came the shaking. Like an earthquake, the wall behind the Grand King's Throne fell, a giant fleshy cave leech squeezing through the freshly made crack, trampling over the throne, and seating itself onto it. The gigantic behemoth was soon followed by a slightly smaller version of himself: the Leech Luitenant, servant of the Leech King.

The Legion came too late, as cave leech larvae had infested the room. The tiny little winged leeches stuck themselves on the wall. The Leech King intended to turn the whole mountain into its own personal hive. After fighting off some larvae, the Legion managed to set up a barricade, but all was in vain; soon, more larvae infested the throne room.

The dwarves fought and fought, but it was useless. The underlings were too many in number, and the yellow slime the leech king would sometimes spit would make the floor slippery and hard to fight on. The leeches tripped the legionaries over and sucked their life's blood from them with sharp, dagger-like teeth.

Reinforcements came, but even they could not defeat the might of the leech army alone. Arrows would not work; the leech king's skin was thick with fat, and even bodkins could not pierce it. The legion alone could not defeat the grand leech army, and so they called for reinforcements.

The legion sent riders to summon human knights to their aid. They had managed to stay the invasion, but it was getting out of hand. Other large leeches had started popping up, making it harder for the legion. When it looked like all hope was lost, the warriors of the Umros arrived. With their superior reach and taller stature, they pushed the leeches back. They even managed to kill the great leech lieutenant. The leech king looked around helplessly, as his best warrior called forth more underlings with his remaining breaths.

The leech king had had enough. He bloated his chest full of air like some sort of monstrous, pink toad, and let out an ear-splitting scream. The ground itself shook at the noise, as a great scuttling could be heard. Suddenly, gigantic fleshy minions of the leech king the size of the lost lieutenant exploded out of the crack in the wall, killing many, snapping their bodies in half with their monstrous shark-like jaws. They crushed and butchered, but the combined forces of the Legion and Human Knights prevailed, killing the large creatures.

With his underlings dying every second, the leech king roared in anger at his fullest might. It was final, the dwarves had injured the leech king's honor. The behemoth bloated its chest and detached itself from the throne. It rose up and crashed down, its large body crushing the armored men under it with ease. The head of the hive propelled itself forward with tiny wings, and swept down at its victims with its gigantic jaws. It rose, and fell, rose, and fell, until it created a carpet of twisted steel, entrails, and bone.

With no other option, the combined forces of the Dwarves and Men charged at the leech king. Some used magic, others used swords, yet the leech still prevailed. It rose up once more, and fell, but the forces of Dwarven and Men saw this coming. They let the behemoth collapse, and then attacked its back with swords, axes, and spear. They rushes at it with crude weapons and shot at it with arrows and bolts of lightining, and with one last twitch, the leech king died.

The humans cheered with joy, as the legion remained solemn. As the commander of the human walked up to greet the dwarven king, the emperor of the Dwedmar only smiled. With one last smirk, he raised his fingers and snapped, as a volley of arrows shot from crossbows and bows fell upon the remaining humans, killing them. With no emotion whatsoever, the legion started cleaning the butchered up from the throne room, humans and leeches alike, giving the dwarves proper burial and burning the bodies of the human's and the leeches.

The limp body of the leech king was collected, and the day was another victory by the dwarves on both leeches and men.
