Jistuma 1996 Share Posted December 8, 2013 (edited) Ladies and gents, today I bring you something quite interesting… Two weeks ago, or three, or more, I don’t remember, Sporadic announced the implementation of the Archemy plugin! But what became of it? Well, pure and simply, the archemy plugin was complete, but the recipes were not… until today.Ladies and gents, potions have been re added to Lord of the Craft! With the help of Ever, Firespirit, Viper3X, Geoboy, Sporadic, Arzota, Agith, Watty_Banker, Ziko99, Domainoft, Hex37, GeneralKaun, Redbench and Pinsir99, it has been possible! I do not take any of the credit, I only did monkey work. Here is how they work. With the Archemy plugin, you will see that by clicking the enderpearl that appears on a brewing stand interface, you open another GUI. There is where you place the ingredients. With those ingredients you will then make a potion. Just don’t forget to place a water bottle on the brewing stand, or you lose the items! The potion might have effects or might not. If it did not have any effect, it will be a random potion, and it means that the recipe is wrong. If it did have effects, it will be named ‘Potion’ and a short description of it is given, and it means the recipe is the correct one! There are a few other potions that are not named only ‘Potion’ and have other uses, as is the ‘Healing Potion’ which can be used to make bandages! The potions effects vary greatly, and some ‘may’ be used to aid in Pvp. I say ‘may’ because with these potions there are always side effects. If you find a recipe that gives you something great, it also means it gives you something very bad. You are to find the ones that you believe best suit you, and use them.So you wonder… 8 ingredients at most to be added, so many items in LOTC to use… it would be impossible to guess them. Well, I will help you all out a bit. First off, the master alchemists will be given most of the potions recipes, yet not all, so those can teach you IC how to create the potions. You will also have chances of experimenting with the list of ingredients I will be giving you. All the potions follow alchemy lore (except for the poisons), so that would be a good way to know what you are doing. So to help you all… here are what the mc-items represent when using in alchemy:Rose - Blood LotusVines - Frost VineBirch leaf - Alabaster LeafTall grass - SaffvilRed Mushroom - Flame TongueBrown Mushroom - Miner’s HelmetLily pad - MandragoraSugar canes - Serpent's StalkCactus - Goblin’s IvyPoison Potatoes - Swamp BlossomSlimeballs - LardTippen’s Root - Tippen’s Root Red dye - Elrow BerriesFeather - Bird feather (Air symbol)Ice - Ice (water symbol) String - Elf’s hair VineEggs - Eggs (Air symbol)Glistering Melon - Night SapCocoa beans - The Dwarf's PumpkinYou will notice that Tippen’s Root and Ice is bolded, that is because you have to make them. To make Ice, simple put 4 blocks of snow into a crafting table. To make tippen’s root, simply place two oak saplins into a crafting table. There is also two other ingredients, distiled water and coal. To make distiled water, you use coal as an ingredient, in the same way you create other potions. The distiled water is then used as an ingredient for other potions. Distiled water is not suppose to be placed in the spot of water bottles, it is suppose to be placed with the other ingredients. The poison ingredients are as follow, but they are not the only ingredients in the poisons, they mix with themselves and with some of the alchemy ingredients. Some of these are rare...Poison ingredients:Blaze powderMagma creamSpider eyeRotten fleshRedstone dustFermented spider eyeBoneNetherbrickGhast tearTruth is, even now, the recipes are not all, but there are many already. There are also a few problems with some of the potions, which need a knowing GM or a knowing Admin or a knowing Tech member, or a combination of the 3 to make them work the way they are suppose to. And of course, I assume the alchemists will have far more ideas on new potions to add.Remember that not all potions are added, and that strong alchemy potions aren’t either. I will give you guys not one, but two examples of the most simple of potions. Simply… use some tippen’s root alone on the brewing stand, or instead, use a spider eye.It was months of preparation since Ever started doing it… sorry it took so long.Hope you like them.-Jistuma Edited December 19, 2013 by Jistuma

Kardel 1054 Share Posted December 8, 2013 The alchemy plugin, by the way, is as close to lore as possible. Think about how you would make a potion lore-wise and try to brew it with the ingredients given. This is how we make you READ the long, tiring, and complicated lore ;). You can also alternately learn in RP, and make your character a dedicated alchemist. Keep in mind that these are only lesser and moderate potions, as no advanced potions will be added to this plugin, therefore if you master making this potions MCly it does not mean you are a master alchemist, just felt like pointing that out. Enjoy this people, it took alot of head-beating to get this to happen!
Ever 2648 Share Posted December 8, 2013 Link to alchemy lore: http://www.lordofthecraft.net/topic/98140-alchemists-almanack-20 If this proves to be too much trouble, I have a system in mind that will work far better but will ignore the lore.

domainoft 191 Share Posted December 8, 2013 So now that, that is out of the way....Are you ready for my ideas on spice recipes? Just think of it, Rare spices only found with the snowy hills of the Dwarves, or grown secretly by the halfling then shipped around Anthos for profit......Chiefs everywhere searching for "Just the right" ingredient for their delicious soups. Taverns around shall rejoice. One Question I keep hearing, and perhaps you can add to the OP to help those wishing to get started. "How do I get a brewing stand/Blaze Rod" Unless I am mistaken you can only get one by requesting a GM make one for you? Although perhaps there is an easier way.
