History

Ciaran was born in the elven town of Darkhaven, deep in the forests of Malinor. In his infancy he was raised by his mother, Laila Darkspire. Ciaran was born with the curse of never quite fitting in, being a half human child in a town full of Mali'ker was jarring at best for a very young child.

At the age of five, Ciaran was sent by his mother to Kingston, Salvus, to live with his older sister, Kaila. Life for Kaila was hard, and it soon became equally hard for Ciaran, as they were both bastard children, both half elven, and both Hightowers. None of those traits very popular amongst the powerful knightly orders that ran Oren at the time. As a result he had been beaten, bullied and abused.

At the age of six, Ciaran discovered music. He begged Kaila to buy him a lute, and was overjoyed when she gave him one for his birthday. He seemed to have a natural gift for music, and quickly taught himself to play.

At the young age of 12, Ciaran packed up and left his home to wander. He had still never met his father, the king, nor did he wish to suddenly become close to a father who had always been so distant. He travelled around the north of Anthos, playing music with elves, druids and other friendly factions.

At 18, Ciaran had all but mastered the art of the lute, playing for money, travelling around at his own whim and having the occasional one night stand with bar dwelling young women. It was in the imposing ruin of Ac'talarah that he met his future wife to be.

Mirai Snow was an easterner from a distant land, a member of a family of white haired humans famous for their business in dealing cactus green and delving with delvers. She was crying when Ciaran first met her, lamenting her woes of past lovers. Ciaran consoled her like a close friend, as opposed to someone he had only met moments before. And that was it.

The two became close and spent more time together. For the first time in his life Ciaran almost felt compelled to settle down. This desire was only strengthened when they found out Mirai was with child.

Ciaran was scared, he'd never even considered himself ever being a parent, but in the end the two lovers decided to keep the child, feeling they owed it a life. However, it wouldn't matter. Three months into the pregnancy and tragedy struck, leaving Mirai with a miscarriage. They were both devastated.

Ciaran resolved to move on, refusing to let this tragedy ruin his relationship with Mirai, or dampen his life. He eventually proposed to her, and with her father's blessing, and his own father nowhere to be found, they were on their way to married life.
