Kez Azmoroth: Lay low your Crown

2Q1MjUO.jpg

*A letter arrives at the throne room of Grand King Indago, the seal of the letter seems to adorning two griffins in conflict, and the seal itself appears to be gold in color with a ribbon of blue draping down. The letter itself is just a parchment bearing a name that has been long forgotten*

“I Thoak Goldhand, Clanfather of the Goldhands, and former noble of the kingdom of Urguan, and the entirety of Goldhands with all due respect ask for the present king of the kingdom of Urguan to step down from his position as ‘Grand King’. For too long now has the Kingdom of Urguan gone without someone capable of running the kingdom properly and adorning the robes of nobility. It is known that you Grand King Indago allowed for a great threat to claim our once grand halls of Kal’Azgoth, and allowed for this threat to slaughter those that resided within its halls. Secondly, our once noble and grand race is now on the verge of collapse. Our people run thin in numbers, and positions that once were productive are no longer. Work within the kingdom is scarce while you surround yourself with the small group of nobles that can barely run this kingdom. Within days our once great kingdom will collapse if our people are attacked once more from the creatures of the deep, or worse those who hold great grudges from the past. Thirdly you have allowed for our great kingdom of Urguan to degrade, allowing those refugees of Malinor to make a permanent settlement along our coasts, and allowing them to take over the ruins within our kingdom. You have also allowed the vile race of the Orcs to surround our current city of Kal’Ithrun laying waste to the lands outside of ours. Not only do our once fiercest enemies surround our lands, but the kingdom’s villages lay in ruin, as well as once grand structures that once stood within the kingdom showing how you, Grand King Indago neglected your people. The Brathmordakin are not happy and morn of how their once grand children fall into despair, and are also angry. You have failed to dedicate the Brathmordakin in days of great joy and feasting, and you have also failed to reestablish the clergy within the kingdom to the point that they are almost non existent. It is great shame that the humans continue their practices with their ‘God’ and that we the dwarves barely keep the Brathmordakin in mind. We the Goldhands ask in civil manner that you lay down your crown. It is with great sorrow that we send this letter, however something must be done.”

Signed,

-Thoak Goldhand, Clanfather of the Goldhands, and its people

Lathros doesn't really think that the constant change of kings is the best thing to do.

Lathros also wonders why nobles, lords, or plain citizens can go around and telling people what to do.

"It was t'e Delver King that led our flight from Azgoth, and let us nae forget that prevented the extinction of our race! Under Indago t'e Kingdom has survived despite suh many of our kind fallin' tuh Ondnarch, and under Indago's rule Mandwarf King Bael's race of Abresi dwarves 'as vanished!"

"But t'e question ah ask ye is this. If Grand King Indago were t'e abdicate, who would replace 'im?"

Thoak stares blindly at the Dwarf, looking in the direction of his voice

"If Indago is tae really step down from 'is position, ten I Thoak Goldhand will be willin' tae claim tae crown of tae kingdom, fer I woold be tae cause of 'im steppin' doon. We tae Goldhands 'ave longed for centuries fer a day when someone of ur race can manage tae kingdom properly, however that day has nae come yet."

Naturally, as all word does in the dwarven kingdom whenever the news considers an unpopular king, the information spreads. Mouth to ear and ear to mouth the news of this 'advice' by the Goldhands would reach the once revered and now much hated Kardel Irongut in his mansion far away south, down in the ice plains where dark things sleep and the wind blows so cold that it freezes the blood of those unprepared.

The old pale dwarf is approached by his handmaid, and asks her the usual questions, but today he gets a very unexpected answer unlike the previous days where the news were of the usual kind: the dwarven race dying and the usual problems that were already present since the fall of Grand Emperor Thorin.

Kardel smiles, and adjusts his suspenders as he hears of the news. He wheezes something in joy "Abou' toime duncha fink? Indagu. . .well, Indagu 'ad tae clean ohp bot' Forin's an' Dizzeh's shiot. Eht nae be da lad's faul', eht be 'is predecessors'. Well, ah'll remain soilent fer nou, an' we'll act laytah! Ah 'alf suppurt Indagu resoignin'. . .dat basterd nae even moinded da olch'meh guild! Ah even sent un lettah all noice n' all tae da Lords an' 'e ignurs eht! Dunnae wurreh Indagu, ah knou wutcha 'appen ta yer! Ye'll fall, an' afteh ye we'll oll fall. Oll eur forces be gone astray, ehts abou' toime eur king'um doied wif 'em. An' frum d'ashes will roise da loine o' da eigt' son an' reclaim wut wus deirs, an' purify eur rayce an' anger da bruthmurdakehn even mure! Bot eht wullnae mattah, because da eigt' son's loine will alloi us wif un darker lurd, an' we s'all roise again, strunger an' bettah den befure! We'll wait precious. . .we'll wait till den ta leave, for da Dwedmar will nae evah be da sayme!"

Kardel stops speaking, and frowns, thinking his words over. "Aye. . .dey'll come, an' we'll leave. . .leave fer guud. . .abandun eur loives an' go up nort' w'ere da rest o' da kin be livin'. Aye. . .up nort'. . ." Kardel sighs, as he grabs his cane from the side of his chair and stands up, making his way for his trench coat and fedora. He wraps himself up tightly and places his hat atop his heads, slipping gloves onto his hands. He proclaims, before leaving "Sweeteh, be sure tae douse da foireplayce befure ye sleep. Ah'll be back en un feu days. Dun stroide eutsoide, eht be dangerous!" The handmaid bows, as her master leaves into the white, his amber eyes glowing as brightly as ever.

On his way to wherever he has chosen to take himself this time, Kardel looks up at the mountain shrine of Yemekarr, sighing as fog drips from his pale lips, disappearing just before it touches the white snow underfoot. Kardel mutters something and continues walking.

As he reaches Kal'Ithrun, he walks into the throne room triumphantly, and roars before Thoak and the other dwarf. Kardel smiles, and after hearing their conversation proclaims "Nae, da king nae need tae abdicate, but iv 'e does er does nae. . ." Kardel pauses for a moment, before exploding triumphantly "AH, Kardel Irongut "Snowborn" Olch'mest o' Ogradhad, Councilmembah o' Vaer'aven, former Jarl o' da sayme 'old an' Noble loike da rest o' yer arses o'er 'ere would loike tae be considered fer LURD of da King o' da King'dum o' Urguan."

Thoak talking to himself awaits for a response from the voice he heard, but to no avail he hears nothing, and soon finds out that there was nobody actually in front of him all along.

Thoak turns his head as he hears Kardel approach him and listens to him as he speaks

"Ye King 'as led 'ur people into a pit 'o 'ellfire, 'o coorse 'e needs tae be replaced. Ot'ers may say 'oots tae previoos King's fault, hooeva' t'at is nae an' excuse fer Indago 'as  'e 'ad many years tae mend an' repair tae problems tae 'ave caused but chooses tae ignore 'em an' cover up tae damage wit' ot'ers things."

Kayne Goldhand nods to his clanfather as he sends off the letter. He looks around him at the few other dwarves

"It is within' t'e best interest o' t'e Brathmordakin. We must let Yemekar an' Armakkak look down on us an' smile as t'ey once did, but do nay longer."

Reasons we have Ithrun:

1. Kal'Azgoth was tu feckin huge ((and laggy fer most people))

2. tu fer aweh ah almost starved on meh way tu deh citeh

3. ((roleplay was too spread out about the city))

4. ((Ithrun in a way filters new players to NOT go into vassals, which leech roleplay))

5. ((the vassals were closer than our capitol so most dwarves spread out there))

alsu der wer few dwarves when dizzeh was king befer him and T'orin's lateh years ov ruule tu, yer wanna knuw why weh have Indago as king? because heh is act've in da kingdom, an' da best choice out ov er race, why is nae somun daat would beh a greateh king, king? 'cause all ov ye elder dwarfehs left ((or made a human or elf character)), everyun left when ye dwarfies did, b'cause dey had nae friends in da dwarven kingdum, why did yer leave? why did anyun leave? ((i understand people have jobs but dont complain about whos king if no one better is there to be king, some of the once great dwraves went to loa; Zezimus, Kjell, TEEbrown)) so yer tell meh whos fault t'it iz, an' last toime ah checked deer wer onleh 'bout dree Golhands, and Indago onleh chuse warr b'cause ov all da kingdum did, and hehs tryoin tu make peace wit' dem 'umans

Thoak stares blindly at the dwarf raising his eyebrow slightly

"Ye are a fool tae believe t'at most 'o 'ur kind just get up an' decide tae leave tae kingdom. T'ey die off an' most 'o tae Gold'ands 'ave. Also 'oot does nae matter hoo' known, 'ur how much a lad is 'roond tae be king, 'oot takes more t'an t'at. Oot takes someone wit' tae ability to t'ink, an' tae ability tae make choices with 'ur withoot lords. Tell me lad, wot 'ave Indago done since 'e 'as claimed tae t'rone? Wot good 'as came from 'is reign? Only death, an' anguish. Indago is also unwillin' to come to 'is sense an' talk 'boot problems within' tae kingdom. As fer Kal'Ithrun an' Kal'Azgoth, ye cannae blame just tae city fer 'oots problems. Organization between tae vassals an' Jarls 'ur utter shite, an' 'ave been since tae reign 'o T'orin, an' coold be fixed wit' proper plannin'. Just look 'oot tae 'umans, t'ey 'ave rebuilt t'ere roads, an' kingdoms tae better suit transportation upon tae roads, an' tae make 'oot better fer t'eir neighboring toons. Why coold we nae de wot t'ey did? Instead we coover 'oot up wit' Kal'Ithrun because 'ur people 'ave became too 'ard 'eaded tae acknowledge tae mistakes an' tae de wot is right an' fix 'em."

After reading the letter, Igor Ireheart, son of Kjell Ireheart, says to Thoak

"Ah Thoak, mah kinsman frum meh motha's soide. Ah must say yer bein' extremeleh 'ypocritical. Indago is as capable ov' runnin' teh Kingdom as much as aneh ov' our past Kings along teh years, 'e 'is 'ardworkin', creative, n' 'as n' overall good work ethic as 'e always 'as teh Kingdom's best interest at 'eart. Alsuh, weh didnae allow Kal'Azgoth to beh attacked, weh 'ad left in 'ope ov' gatherin' moar' dwarves together n' closer to teh 'eart ov' Ant'os, w'ich worked. If ye nae remember Indago rallied up our forces n' weh attacked Kal'Azgoth n' defeated teh minions ov' Ondnarch, teh citeh may beh cold but Ondnarch's threat shall nay longah effect our lands thanks to teh brave dwarves t'at defeated 'im, anotha' point teh prove is t'at tehre we'r NAY Gold'ands in t'at force ov' Dwarves. Our people run in thin numbah's aye, 'owever t'at because maneh ov' our older dwarves 'ave died 'er disappeared, t'at nay beh teh fault ov' aneh'un but t'emselves. Infact! Ye yerself 'ave nay been seen in years! Ye 'oide wit' teh rest ov' yer clan keepin' yer riches wit' ye, none ov' yer Clan Membah's 'ave done aneh'tin productive to teh Kingdom since teh days ov' Thorik! Ye were a terrible Yemekar's Pick yet ye complain teh Kingdom is full ov' nobles w'o cannae run teh Kingdom? None ov' us claim teh beh nobles, EXCEPT YE! Ye say weh allow refugees teh live long our coast? Weh 'ave removed 'undreds ov' settlements in our lands, n' ye complain t'at 'UN ov' 'em t'at weh 'avenae seen 'as been a problem fer ye? Teh Uruks 'avenae surrounded aneh'un! Teh uruk citeh beh as dead as ours, n' aneh Uruk t'at 'as tried teh cause aneh trouble wit'in our lands 'as been given a swift kick in teh jaw n' sent back 'ome. Maneh ov' our gran' structures ave withered ova' toime, but if tehre is nae 'un teh in'abit it tehn w'ot beh teh point ov' fixin' it up? Maneh dwarves still practice teh teachin's ov' teh Brathmodrahkin n' teh onleh reason weh dunnae 'ave a 'igh Prophet is because tehre is nae'un w'o weh believe would beh as dedicated to it as our previous 'un. Ahm actualleh surprised ye know aneh sort ov' information considerin' yer large inactivateh from t'is Kingdom! All ah 'ave EVER 'eard frum ye is complaints aftah complaint, YE DO NUFFIN'! YER NAE SEEN ANEH'WER! YE COMPLAIN! N' MOS' OV' ALL, YE TRY T'ESE PETTER GRABS FER POWER WEHN YE 'AVE ABSOLUTELY NAE ROITE. Suh dunnae speak to aneh ov' us about neglect, because ye 'ave neglected teh Kingdom fer YEARS!"

((Honestly from an OOC point of view this is a huge slap in the face, you have been inactive for a long time, you never log on and you were one of the main dwarves who left for LOA, we lost many dwarves because many of them went to LOA, alot of our old dwarves abandoned the race and are no where to be seen. The reason towns pop up is because instead of un-regioning the whole of Anthos the GM team decided to just un-region the south which has really put alot of pressure on us in keeping our lands clean from all the random towns that pop up. We have very few dwarves and the most we could ever muster for a battle would be 20 at most. Alot of us have to work in the Kingdom while people like you come along and complain that we're doing a terrible job while you're sitting there playing LOA and not even caring. This to me and nearly every other dwarf just seems like a grab for power from an old dwarf who had a major impact on why we have no dwarves.))

Thoak chuckles for a short time at Igor then turns his attention upon him.

"Ye may dredge up t'ings 'o tae past such as me becomin' Yemekar's Pick an' 'andin' 'oot off tae someone else, hooeva' tae only t'ing t'at caused my control ova' Yemekar's Pick tae cease was tae constant wars t'at T'orin put 'ur people throogh. 'Oot is a shame t'at most 'o 'ur lads ra'ter lust fer war t'an work, an' t'at is wot 'appened. T'ere was nae workers or nae real use fer a Yemekar's Pick at tae time. As fer ye accusin' me 'o nae leadin' tae Gold'ands tae glory, ye 'ave nae business puttin' yer face into 'ur business. We 'ave 'ur own reasons fer nae goin' tae war, an' t'at at tae time ye fought ye 'glorious' battles we focused on 'ur tradin' t'at most 'o ye war-torn savages destroyed. Fer me complainin', I only complain fer tae better 'o tae kingdom. I am sure t'at ye can agree t'at t'is kingdom 'is nae anythin' compared tae wot 'oot used tae be in tae past days, an' t'at nothin' 'as been done tae improve wot 'as been caused. Also fer ye an' claimin' tae teachin's 'o tae Brathmordakin still 'ur practiced today, t'en w'ere is ye proof? T'ere is nae shrines, nae priests, nae one t'at ye consider 'worthy' to take tae mantle 'o leadin' tae clergy, yet ye say t'ere is t'ose t'at still practice. If t'ere was t'ose t'at still practice t'an surely t'ere woold be nae problem findin' ye 'worthy' candidate. Fer ye sayin' t'at I 'ave neglected tae kingdom I will admit t'at I 'ave turned me beck on 'ur kingdom many times, but hoo' coold I nae? Tae lords dunnae alloo' ot'ers to take tae mantle 'o royalty. Ye keep to yeselves, an' surrond yeself wit' ye pooer an' just toss ye pooer' 'roond until 'oot finally circles onto some lad ye deem worthy 'o takin' tae crown. Tis 'is a disgrace fer t'ree times noo' t'at ye 'ave choosen wrong."

(( I was hoping that this wouldn't break into OOC but I guess it has. Of course this is a slap in the face, ICly and OOCly, and a power grab as well. Yes I have not been active for many months now because to be honest I just lost interest because between the time Dizzy and Indago were rulers nothing that caught me was happening rather than the constant PVP wars that happen. As for LoA you cannot honestly use that for I only spent a short time building on it, and spent probably 2 days actually playing on it since release, and that LoTC is actually doing x10 better than what LoA is now, honestly it all depends on how you guys as leaders of the Dwarves want to take it. I am sure you all can get new dwarves into the kingdom rather than mourning the loss of old dwarves and great figures that came into LoTC and left. Also you should keep in mind that this letter was completely ICly, I had no intentions for you people to get all rowdy and start calling me out for complaining, oocly especially. ))

*Returning from brief foray into the lands of Anthos Dizzy comes across the argument. He laughs*

"W'ile ah see nae t'at much wrong wit' indagu er t'a lords, T'oak, if ye are tu make such demands t'en ye need change mure t'en t'a crown. Fer accusations as d'ese t'a lords are as much te blame, and 'ave near as much power, t'en t'a king. Bloodeh tied me 'ands tegether w'en I were king.

Do not git me wrung t'ough, t'ey are doin a foine job nuw, but if ye want change du it roight.

((Dont worry about Igor, Thoak, people get a bit jumpy in OOC lately, Igor is just trying to make sure that some small OOC occurrence doesn't destroy the dwarven playerbase utterly (not saying you would) he means well, just states it a bit aggressively. Understanding that this is wholly RP I believe it will set nerves straight))
