Please don't reveal the identity of who places auctions on the auctioneers. It defeats the purpose of the secret sale. Some goods are best done with secrecy. And others use these auctions as a way to "Pass Notes" secretly as well....with the possibility that someone can still intercept them and start a new line of RP for them.

 

+1 for Cruz also, I would love to see a "Book Preview" plugin someday in the advanced future after many other more important plugins. One that not only lets you preview pages from the auctioneers, but possibly shelf's, special chests, and maybe even shops. Such a thing would only be a Boon to bookstores and librarians. As it is currently, I have to write previews as a separate books, which is tedious and wastes resources.

 

P.S. Cappy when your done with that 100% Legit book....can I have it for my library? Or at least read it? Such an expensive book must have valuable information to glean from its pages.

We need to do this, at least for the short term, to catch those selling them. Once the issue is mostly resolved we can switch it back again.

You could try, but without the evidence it would be difficult to actually ban anyone, as evidence is required for that too.

 

Just because a book says trolly things, does mean the author should be banned. I have written and created copies of many books most would find useless and many more that simple appear to be useless but with a greater purpose.

Actually, to be fair, auctioneers appraise the goods they sell, to find out if they are even worth the effort. This would involve either reading the book themselves or having an expert have a look-see. Almost all of these 'scams' wouldn't have occurred if the auctioneers were not NPC's.

After a quick discussion amongst GMs and admins, we have come to the conclusion that this is an infraction of our rules! Specifically, the following rule:

"If attempting to falsify an identity and take up a mock 'position' of importance or value (such as a guard), your name cannot simply be changed in order to perfectly emulate the role (such as "Guard_Jeff"). Instead, it should be through deceptive roleplay and not simply a /setname change."

there goes my main way of making money... back to walking up and down the anthos highway with my boys and robbing people for minas and valuables i guess
