Honestly I don't really see what's so wrong with it. People are deceitful all the time in real life in order to make money. It's just like any scam artist in real life looking for a quick buck. If somebody's character is foolish enough to purchase a tome they know nothing about maybe they should lose that money.

I see a big problem in that when that newer player that wishes oh so bad to buy something they have been saving for in the auction shop finds it to be a prank or joke of some sort, diminishing their hope and interest in Lotc since they would start to believe it is a bunch of richards (the other name for richard so I am keeping it clean) rather than people wishing to make real RP.
