The dwarven clans or "families" are blood related groups of dwarves. Clans MUST be made of blood related members, very rarely will you find a non blood related family friend in the clan.[so if you want to recruit for your clan, say that you found them in your old family records so they are of your bloodline.] These groups of blood related dwarves from the entirety of the Kingdom of dwarves. The Clans of the dwarves make up the foundation of dwarven society. Everything and all things are centered around the clans, the people. The clans are separated into four groups; Elder Clans, Commoner Clans, Exiled Clans and Dead/Inactive Clans

Elder clans are the most respected clans of the kingdom, descending directly from the sons of Urguan. These days, being of an elder clan holds little perks besides the wealth of the clan. Most power, in dwarven society, is gained through personal endeavors rather than being of blood-line, though members of Elder Clans are often considered to be amongst the nobility of the Kingdom, regardless of their title.

Commoner clans are many throughout the kingdom of dwarves. Their numbers variety between different clans as well as holds the bulk of the population in the dwarven kingdom.  In order for a commoner clan to respect, the lower clan must repeatedly prove itself to the kingdom and it's dwarves. This would take many years, possibly generations.

Exiled clans are clans that have deemed unworthy and dishonorable to live within the halls of Kal'Ithrun or it's surrounding territories. These clans are forced to roam outside of dwarven lands. These members are not allowed to enter the dwarven lands until they either die or have their honor regained.

Dead/Inactive clans are clans that were once Elder or Commoner clans but have lack of numbers or willing leaders to lead the clan. These clan threads will not be kept in this subforum but in the Great Library. If, at any time, a clan wishes to be resurrected, a new thread may be made and labeled as a Commoner clan. The old thread will be kept here as a template or reference in case the clan wishes to resurrect itself.

To join a clan, approach a clan leader or respected kin, and request that they look into their records for your name. If the clan leader wants you in his clan, he will say that he had found you in his records and invite you to join his kin, sharing the same bloodline. That way, more proper blood related families can be formed that works out in the most convenient way possible.

[]The Stormhammers wouldn't be a Elder Clan due to Kjell not being a son of Urguan, however the Irehearts would be considered an Elder Clan.[]
