The history of the Doomseeker clan is not very long. At the time of the 2nd dwarven rebellion, the son of Duregar, the lord of the Thunderfists, decided that he did not want to split from the Grand Kingdom. He broke off from the clan, and decided that he would continue to serve the Grand King. After the loss of the rebels, Duregar's son, Gotrek, decided that his honor had been destroyed due to his father's actions. He shaved his head, leaving his clan name behind, falling into dishonor. He decided then, that the only way to atone for the actions of his clan would be to forever serve the Kingdom as a warrior, forever seeking death at the hands of the greatest enemies of the Kingdom.

 

Upon the attack of the "Antagonists", Gotrek set out for the Northlands to finally find his doom. He fought his way into the heart of the lands, only to find something incredible. Embedded in the a rock, he found an ornate axe. Carved into the axe's blade were the runes for "DUNGRIM". Gotrek picked up the axe, and immediately felt a surge of power flow into him. The axe's chain attached itself to his wrist. Gotrek took this as a sign that he had been chosen as Dungrim's champion, and charged headlong into the throng of monsters that had followed him. His new weapon easily sliced through the shambling zombies, as if they were butter under his blade.

 

He returned to the kingdom, a new goal in his mind. He would dedicate his life to killing the beasts that roamed the land. Some others shared his goal, and decided to join with him. They decided that they would name themselves the "Doomseekers", as they spend their lives seeking a glorious death.

The Doomseekers are not related through family bonds, but through oaths to each other and to the Grand Kingdom. All Doomseekers are warlike, aggressive, and bloodthirsty. Doomseekers are eager to jump at a chance for battle, however, and despite their origins, usually keep their word. Doomseekers come from all backgrounds and professions, as they leave their past behind to do battle. Full membership in the clan is attained by killing or assisting in the killing of a monster on the bounty board. The Doomseekers usually make money from killing normal monsters or collecting bounties on people and more dangerous beasts.
