A printed letter is spread throughout dwarven territory, delivered to the holds and settlements that lie within the borders of the Grand Kingdom of Urguan. As you look closer towards the parchment, you see that it bears the seal of the Grandaxe Clan.

“Sons of Urguan, my brothers of the stone,

As a new day dawns, we have found ourselves facing such a decision that could ultimately determine the fate of the nation to which we call our own. For it is true that the hour is grim. The pride that has in years past, paved forth the way for our kind to prosper has been shaken. The mistakes of many have driven our people apart and now ever closer towards the brink of ruin.  Yet against all odds, here we remain, a nation unbowed and unyielding towards the threats that were set upon us. I hope that through these words, you may see that there is a light in every corner of darkness.

My name is Wulfgar Grandaxe, son of Morgrim, son of Valen. For years, I have fought by the side of my kin and the Grand Kingdom. I admit that the first step to change is to see our past wrongdoings. We are not a people who would shed the blood of Yemekar’s creations so heedlessly as we have these many years past. To march upon a foreign land without first reasoning with their kind was a crime against all our ancestors have stood for. While mortals have fought and warred, we have forgotten that we are all products of Yemekar’s divine creation. For the true enemy is that which we cannot defeat by any blade or axe forged by mortal hands. Ondnarch’s legions encroach from the west, bringing an endless cold in their wake, while from the north, the Scourge has torn asunder the nations of Anthos. We must face the fact that by standing alone, we cannot hope to achieve victory.

If you are to elect me, I intend to bring a new found discipline upon our people, forcing down those who fail to commit themselves to their titles. I have heard the demands of many clans and listened to their woes. I would take into consideration the implementation of a third council, one who represents the interests of the established clans whose absence from these lands has left them without a decision in this nation’s future. I would see culture brought back to our halls and a system of justice that punishes those who would dare defy the orders of their superiors. Resources once put into fighting wars with the mortal races will be put to use elsewhere in the preservation of peace and opportunity. Once again, we will issue in a new era of respect and honour, not only to our own kin but to all of Anthos.

It is true that I am a strong believer in the Articles of Urguan and the framework that they provide. While imperfect in many regards, they have served us well in the dark years we have been led to endure. However, if elected, my first act would be to attempt to issue reforms to the Articles, so as to appease the needs and desires of the entire dwarven population. I believe it is only through the voice of the people that we may ever restore faith in our council’s capabilities.

Know that if you stand by my side and elect me to lead you, I will do all in my power to restore the glory days of old. For it is only together that we may truly determine the fate of our people.”
