Lectures In Transfiguration

 Share

Recommended Posts

Placed upon noticeboards around Elven lands (as far as a Mali'aheral messenger could be bothered to travel) would be a bone-white poster with a golden border. Were you to take a closer look at this needlessly fancy parchment, you would read thusly--

Transfiguration Lessons

Long has Mali'aheral-kind gained an affinity for the arcane arts. Within our blessed society, we have obtained experts in almost every field of the arcane, from simple evocations, to the complexities of conjuration. One of the rarest magical forms, transfiguration, is still quite unknown to even our own people.

To those who take an interest in the magic of enchantment, transmutation, and warding, I, Lucion Sullas, formally extend my invitation to the Tomb for those willing to learn of its powers. However, these lectures come at a price for those not denizens of our facility.

To those not of pure Mali'aheral lineage, payment of 100 minas will be required before each and every lesson. If there is no payment prior to the lesson, then you shall not be allowed to enter our Blessed Tomb.

If you are unaware of the location of our Tomb, then one suggests you find someone who does. I will not nanny you for any reason.

Furthermore, along with the laws of the Mali'aheral, certain rules must be followed by outsiders prior to entrance.

1. No student may carry a weapon inside the facility.

2. No student may use their magic within (other than transfiguration at the appropriate times). Users of dark magics (Do not feign ignorance, you know who you are) are not permitted inside at all.

3. No student may carry out acts of violence upon another within the Tomb. Hold back your primitive aggression for at least a few hours.

4. No student may be an impure Mali'aheral. My people will not suffer the presence of imbeciles and abominations.

5. No student may be an Uruk. Goblins -might- be an exception, provided they bathe first, and keep their filthy little hands off our property.

6. No student may use the illusionary arts to circumvent any of the rules. Though this is covered in rule two, I merely wish to place emphasis on the fact we shall punish this particular offense with considerable severity.

7. No student may enter areas of the Tomb that are off-limits.

8. No idiots.  Other members of our facility and myself will decide who is an "idiot" or not. The topic will not be up for debate.

Any breaches of these rules will be met with an unceremonious ejection by the Tomb's golems. And in the the case of rule six, perhaps a few broken bones.

Those interested should sign their names upon the bottom of this parchment.

((This is basically an attempt to make a consistent magic class which I will hold on Sunday 4pm EST. If anyone can suggest a better time, go ahead and mention it! More people = more RP!))

Salazar decides to set out to find this tomb, as he is probably the only high elf that doesn't know where it is...

Irritated-looking high elves walk back to the posters, grumbling and making additions beneath them.

Lessons will continue until,

a) You run out of money,

b) I become tired of teaching,

c) You are of reasonable skill, and have no further need of tuition.

*Lorien Brave decides that it would be nice to learn the basics of Transfiguration, and so he jots down his name on the poster, along with the note:*

"I shall find my way towards the tomb, and payment of 100 Minas shall be sent when I arrive.

Sincerely,

Lorien Brave."

*Satisfied, Lorien makes his way towards the location he presumes the tomb is found, hoping that he won't be late for the first lecture.*

Salamandra has no clue where the Tomb is, even if he were to go for shits and giggles...

Salazar is glad he isn't alone in not knowing where the Tomb is. Salazar and Salamnadra should embark on a quest to find said Tomb and call it the Adventures of Sal & Sal.

"All students interested may attend, so long as the 100 minas-per-lesson cost is paid. No more or less is wanted, or desired.

The next lecture will be held at the same time upon the next elven week."

((Time changed to Sunday 5PM EST! Be there, or be square!)

-=Notice to all Students=-

Due to the mass-movement of the Mali'aheral, lessons will now take place within this "Fringe." You are advised to seek out the Mali'aheral settlement there for the continuation of your tuition. The time and day remain the same.

-L. Sullas
