A Desperate Speech

Valmuel Elibar'acal adjusts her clothing, breathing hard. She steps up to a podium in the square of the Conclave, before the marble gates. She takes a deep breath once more, settling her eyes onto the number of Mali in the area.

"The time is now!" She shouts, looking out at them. "Scourge from the North repeatedly attack our city. A drake attacked some elven days ago. Will we stand this abuse? Will we sit and watch while they burn the paths we paved?" She looks out to the crowd, a strong intent in her eyes. "We are all children of Malin! We must all unite under one banner!"

"Will the Dwarves help us? Will Oren help us? Each nation is divided into their /own/ conflicts. The time is now to unite and defend ourselves!" Her voice rises as her speech progresses. "The last elven night was a massive attack! The population stood watching as few indulged in attacking the Harbingers that attacked our homes! Our children! We had to wait for other help to clean the situation."

"I say, enough of this! I will begin to try and educate the existing military. I will take on apprentices to combat this magic. I will do whatever I can to defend Malin's People! But I need you to do the same! For too long we have been divided. Mali'ame, Mali'ker, Mali'aheral, we are all Mali! Why stay seperated?!"

"Take up defense for your people! Take up pride for your race. We do not stand idle."

Valmuel's last words echo into the square, her eyes searching for any response.

Prey just looks around , before shouting.

"Why not just move the elven nation next to another , more militarized nation? Try to keep all the same criminals out of the Elven nation , and maybe we might have a chance making some allies..."

She steps back into the crowd.

"There is no point of making a new nation. We have a geographical advantage. We can make do with what we have. But I do agree with you; a militarized nation is the only way."

Yulnii, on a small trip to the Conclave, watches this speech from the crowd. Her eyes narrow as she listens to her great-aunt speak. Pulling a hood over her head, she lets out a small sigh. All she does is mumble to herself, making very little sense.

"She can't be... no... I mean... she can't be talking about that... we need to keep it a... hrm..."

Her sentences are broken and her eyes distant as she wanders away, her voice incredibly quiet.

"What are you up to, Auntie?"

Malineer lifts his head from the book he reads against the gatehouse, sighing in a ragged tone as he gently clamped the pages shut and yelled up to the podium. "We're working on it! Don't go on suicide missions just yet."
