The Viceroy, silent during the course of the tribunal's proceedings, taps his fingers upon the table before him. He sighs, and stands, walking to the judge's chair. The voices grow quiet. He merely stands there and waits for the seat's occupant to understand, and Ptah Remneal takes the chair as the judge moves to Ptah's former seat. "This Tribunal is now under the powers and judgement of the Royal Council of Alras. All charges are reintroduced, all statements retracted, all judgements overruled. Ventios Sarino, Nym Sarino: you shall answer my questions and the questions of the other members of the Royal Council only. You shall restrain your answers to what is relevant and truthful. First, you shall do the following: One. You shall each state the exact nature of your affiliations with the vassal state of Festina and Alras. Two. You shall each plead guilty or not guilty to each of the ten charges levied by Festina. Three. Stormclank 232 Share Posted April 10, 2014 Ventios rises and bows his head to the Viceroy before looking back up towards him, "I Ventios, swear tha' I shall speak the truth and nothin' but the truth. Now, as you may 'ave known I live in Alras and I 'ave done since the Fringe portal opened. My devotion to Alras is not something ye' haven't seen, For example: I 'ave defended Alras in time o' need against bandits and harbingers and I have fought under their name at wars. Not only that but I 'ave given you all o' my friends to fight under ye' name too. Now onto my affiliations with Festina... I was a very loyal member of their little group. I was in charge of all the military affairs like getting soldiers and rallying men. It got to the point where Christopher had %110 trust in me and he had almost put me in charge of Festina and he did sometimes, I mean he went away alot so I took over from 'im and made sure everything was fine for him to come back to. I was almost like 'is little slave, but then I realized 'Why the **** am I letting him get all the credit?' So I took action, I decided it was time to make a move and leave Festina. So that is exactly what I did, I left and took all mah assets with me, all of my things too. Then as soon as he realized he had lost such a good person he went into a rage, blaming me and my friend Nym for all his troubles." Ventios wipes his brow and re-adjusts his belt and begins to speak again. "Now for question two... I plead /Not guilty/ to all of these charges." He looks around and gives a light chuckle, "High treason to Alras and Festina? I am not guilty. In which way have I commited high treason? All I have done is left a house, I cannot believe that some people can even contemplate that this is correct! Destruction of property?" Ventios sighs "The only destruction I 'ave ever done is on my own land, and that was so tha' I could rebuild and enhance the area for the greater good of Alras. Anti propaganda against Festina? To be honest I don't even think that anyone knows who Festina is, or cares quite frankly. If you can find evidence of this /not through your families words/ then feel free to attempt ta' trial me for et. Killing of an innocent? The **** are ye' talking about? I 'avent killed a single man or woman since the battle of Zion! And if 'ah did do this then why didn't anyone in Alras hear about it? This is a dreadful crime and 'ah have never commited it! Ventios has a more angry look on his face now, he speaks in a more dry voice Theft? I 'ave stolen nothing other than my own property! All teh **** is mine anyway! Ye' are luckeh that you got to keep tha' manor. Seeing as I got that for you too! Encouraging a revolt? What in the **** are ye' talking about? I have only 'elped Alras and made them stronger as a community! In what way 'ave I done this at all?! Breaking morality c-? Ah dun' even know what teh **** that is, and im pretty sure it ain't a law of Alras! Corruption? Mate teh only corruption 'ere is you! Ye' make these stuped accusations with no evidence and expect for them ta' be passed, and anyway? Which official is thes? And fucken finally, plans for putting teh treaty in jeopardeh? Teh ****?! I 'ave been one of the most loyal fighters for teh dwarfs and Alras! And yet a fucken'gain there no evidence for these crimes!" Ventios stands tall, he huffs and then finishes his speech with a conclusion, "This whole trial is a big fat pile o' horse **** and has no truth at all. Ye' have no evidence at all other than the words of your incest sons! Im surprised ye' can go this long without..." He ends his speech laughing and sits down "I rest mah case!.... MongolKhan 255 Share Posted April 10, 2014 Nym slowly stands grunting softly "My afflication is with Alras, Christopher has harrassed us for too long" he sighs "I pose not guilty to all charges set against us." he nods "I say this because I've no reason to plot against Alras, my love lies within the people I seek to protect. I say this deep down for me 'eart. The shet coming from Christopher is lies and slander and not once have I done such charges. I try my 'ardest to keep me'self from causing 'arm. I've not destroyed any part of Alras. I've neither stole items. If anything the stealing was Christopher, whom killed a horse that I was going to give to the high-king as a gift." he sighs "I am a war veteran of Oren aye' but I fought against the corruption within the enemy. This false proof that they show comes from friends and family. 'ow can this be used as proof? It can not, I've single handly never met Christians wife and I know for a fact that his children would be dead if both myself and Ventios attack. However we did not. I can say this deep down from my heart. I would never try to cause a war, I am against it and always will be. I've seen the horrors...the death, the injuries. I wish not to cause the loss of life. I wish to protect them. My sword is a way of killing the evil that corrupts Alras. I can say this deep down.. I wish to not cause harm against those that have not caused me any trouble. I wish only to see justice serverd against the corrupt...if this means me being exiled..so be it. But know this...the light will always shine above evil. It will always win. I've never said ill words against my king..and the people and I wished not to cause this apparent rebellion. If I wished to do it, I would have done it publicly and not been fecking stupid. If I am right. Christopher is not a government official. So that leads to who could we've done anything to? Which we 'aven't I only wish to see justice served and to show my love to thee people of Alras. To protect and to serve them till my last dying breath.." he says softly, sitting down. "If what you say is true you make it seem like you were disgusted with Christopher and how he lead. Is there something you are particularly disgusted with? After some time, he speaks: "The Tribunal shall now adjourn and the Royal Council of Alras shall determine the verdict. The verdict shall be read before the court in one elven day.
