The Next Lord Chancellor

Recommended Posts

The lords individually walked out of the throne room as an announcement had been made, a legion grunt accompanied them, but quickly dashed to the local printing press with a letter in his hand with the seal of the Grand Kingdom.

"As Grand King I, Hogarth Irongut, announce my replacement for Lord Chancellor as Balek Irongut. He has served the Grand Kingdom well as our High Remembrancer, showing great care and respect for this nation's history as well as books that shall be used to train new comers for generations. His guild was a shadow of what it once was when he was selected, but now it has grown to encompass all walks of life, as well as the Kingdom's greatest scholars. His work ethic and attention to detail shall be helpful in the days to come, as the role of Lord Chancellor is no easy task. Regardless, I believe there is no more qualified Dwarf to preform the nation's diplomacy and oversee the Grand Kingdom's Merchant Guild.

Let this not deter those who have ambitions to become a Lord of the Grand Kingdom, your chance shall come if you continue to strive and produce intelligent ideas that this nation was founded and continue to work upon. There are still many places where diligent Dwarves are needed, I wish to support those of you on your journey to fulfill your ambition."

Where are we gonna find a new Rememberancer? Balek was the best at that position, many could do as well as he could as Lord, but not as Rememberancer.

Balek plops down into his Lord's Throne after his return from his recent diplomatic visit to the new Oren Capital. Although the stony chair with way too few cushions is far from comfortable, Balek felt surprisingly content as he sat on it. He was the /only/ one who could, at least as long as his name was pinned to it.

Later that day, he listens to the Frost Elf wishing for his old position.

"The Title o' 'igh Remembranceh is nae' eh toy. Onleh t'ose 'oo 'ave proven demselves wortheh through tha' Guild, can 'ope tu attain the position. Yer nae' in tha' Guild, yer eh stranger tu meh, nor du Oi know if yer capable. Oi'm sorreh lass, but if yeh were tu become the 'igh Remebranceh, ye 'ave tu, at least, be eh part o' tha' establishment. Besoides, dere be plenteh o' candidates vyin' fer it."

Hiebe thinks this is a mature post by a dwarven Lord.

He also thinks Balek be a fine choice.
