Elven Subforums

-snipped for they did not like the list being up-

Let's be honest, their list here involves more than 16 inactive names and more names of people who don't live in their city.

My proposition is simple. If the High Elves (arguably the most populous of all the elves) and the Snow Elves (arguably the least populous, perhaps slightly more populous than the dark elves) have a subforum, all elves in between deserve one too.

  • Add the Dark Elven Roleplay forum.
  • Add the Wood Elven Roleplay forum.
  • Edit the "Princedom of Fenn" to be the "Snow Elven Roleplay" forum and remove the tag at the bottom indicating they're a nation— If only Uraguan recognises them, they don't need to be recognised as a nation OOC by the forum title.
  • Alphabetise the forums.

The Varsele is a forum which no one has used in months:

  • Delete the Varsele forum.

Alternatively:

  • Move the "Princedom of Fenn" subforum to the dwarven forums (They're the only group who recognises them).
  • Rename the High Elven Roleplay forum to "The Silver Enclave of Haelun'or".
  • Delete the Varsele forum.

Varsele can be removed, agreed.

Past that, this honestly seems like an ego issue. If they got a sub forum, who cares? It just proved that anyone can get one.

If they want to use one? Good on them. It's not going to hurt anybody else. If Wood elves or Dark elves want one too? Let them get one. I can certainly understand the desire to keep things organized, and it's a lot easier to direct people to a topic when it's "In the Snelf forum, under elves" rather than "Second or third page of the elf rp forum".

Of course, if sub forums actually causes issues with the site? Definitely get rid of it.

there's no need for the varsele subforum or the snelf sub forum. I do agree with High Elf, Wood Elf, and Dark Elf subforum though.

This,

And wood and dark elves have visible functioning societies now alongside the high elves, we'd appreciate a subforum.

The snelves have a different government than everyone else and they are also elves too.

Let them keep it. It's needed.

It doesn't matter if no one sees them as a nation. I remember Holm having the same number of players and they were still considered a Nation. If a nation sees themselves as such, then that's all that matters.

From my understanding they got the sub-forum not because they are snow elves, but because they have their own nation, same reason High Elves got a sub forum. They are their own separate entity, and as such, can have separate forum sections.

On the other hand, from my understanding, neither Wood Elves nor Dark Elves have their own nations, they are I believe vassals to other nations.

Varsele can go though IMO, aye.

The Snow Elven nation, however, is recognsed by a sum total of the dwarves alone. If "nation status" gets you a subforum, you need to give nation status a better definition than "the dwarves think you're a nation".

Why does it matter in the first place? Live and let live.

I am all for having sub forums for organizations that are clearly different from the rest of their race, but I am curious how the more recent Princedom of Fenn was able to secure one so quickly.

The Sovereign of Hanseti is also a very different culture from the rest of the Human race, and on top of that we are not in the Empire. I believe that Hanseti would benefit from having its own sub forum in the Human Roleplay section and yet I was told that I had to have a following of over 30 people and 3 months time as a group before they would even consider making a sub forum for Hanseti- a presence that has been on this server for over 2 years.

I find this really funny too that I believe it was Hanseti who first called for the recognition from other nations for its own nation status to become legit, and here it is being used to justify the location and existence of the sub forum.

Oh god pls not my forums, anything but that! I propose that if each elven subrace gets a sub forum thing all human houses and dwarven clans should to.

Then one questions the existence of the Adunian subforum, who are vassals to Oren. Clearly that is not the sole determining factor at work here.

It does not matter who it is recognized by, as that is an IC recognition and this is an OOC issue. Snow elves are seperate from everyone else, as the high elves are. The high elves have their own subforum. Hence, when the admins saw fit to give the snow elves a sub forum, they did.

This, though, I have no idea about.

I stated it was from my understanding, not that said understanding were the case nor correct. I simply brought forth my opinion on how such a thing could, logically, come about.

um.

but clans and houses aren't different races, and when they are they're really small in comparison to other actual sub races.

dark elf and wood elf and high elf are different races, but different human houses are all human(commonly) and dwarven clans are just...pretty small, still. three-five members each.

It was shown it was giving the Snow Elf nation a sub forum and not the race by labeling it "The Princedom of Fenn." as opposed to "Snow Elf" or "Mali'Fenn."
