Addressing The Dwarf-Human Problem(S)

Hello LoTC, it's me Sheumgal coming at you with a large post on why everyone needs to chill out.

 

As I've made it known in my many MANY skype chats, I do not support the decision of the GM team. I feel as if it was a small portion of the Humans and Dwarves that were causing the OOC problems, however this is not a post bashing the decision of the administration. This is a post in support of it.

 

The tensions that have come on by this war OOC have been ridiculous, and it has come to a point that two of the largest playerbases on the server are literally clawing at each other's throats on the forums and in game. Taking petty OOC shots and the like.

 

As leader of the humans both IC'ly and (I would hope) OOC'ly, I'd like to personally apologize for turning this situation into what it has been. I had no idea that it would turn south this quickly, and to be quite honest, this was one of the reasons I had left LoTC in the first place (besides my IRL reasons that held a lot of weight as well).

 

So now I'm going to lay down what must be done IF we so wish to show the administration that we are mature enough to handle war and conflict without taking it personally, something that you should never do on a video game.

 

1. Quit the OOC bickering back and forth, this includes making posts and statuses that are directly or even indirectly related to the conflict at hand. The "war" is over, whats done is done, the administration made their decision.

 

2. In-game be remotely respect, you don't have to hug and kiss, just use the doctrine: "If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all" no need to be a self righteous little prick. No one side could know for sure if they would win, ANYTHING can happen in a war, being someone who has fought in almost every major battle this server has had I can say that with utmost certainty.

 

3. Let this cool down, believe it or not, /there will be other conflicts/ so long as you can show that you are remotely mature. Allow this to die down and within the next week notice that not really much has changed at all. If you even need to (if this situation has affected you that much) take a break from LoTC. Go get drunk or high, or even both at the same time (it's great trust me).

 

Now I hope this helps kill the tensions a little bit, I know I keep using the line "this is just a game" and that's because it is. However, this game is run by the community and if the community cannot respect one another, this "game" that we all enjoy so much isn't going to be very enjoyable. Take a nice step back and realize that everything you say directly contributes to stopping something that we all thought was going to be enjoyable.
